- Merry Christmas! TF2's Smissmas 2023 update dropped earlier this month, and it's definitely decent. This video has me and my buddy Steel going through all the new stuff, as well as getting sidetracked and talking about whatever comes to mind whenever we darn well please, because that's just how it goes here. Sit down, grab a cup of cocoa, and enjoy the video. :)
Oh, and MASSIVE thanks to PD_Galleria for nailing the aesthetic appeal of this update. Out of all the additions this update brings, that map is just fun. Map makers, take notes.

If you’ve played through the update, what was your favorite part of it? Obviously I’m biased in favor of aesthetic appeal, but if I didn’t cover anything that y’all thought was a highlight, what was it?
You can make a warhammer 40k krigs mann Cosplay for Pyro the only thig that is missing is a shovel for pyro😅
Galleria. Literally everything about it is awesome, the details, the ambiance, the style, the fact that it is player destruction which is one of my favorite game modes I mean literally, it is so good and well designed that I didnt even know it was just Nucleus. Absolutely love the map so much, hope we get more like it down the line
Hey sam if your looking for a place to upload a novel before you serializ it, there's a site called royal road where you can upload novels on a chapter basis, alot of people upload there and then stubb them once they get published

Thanks for making it! That map single-handedly saved the map selection for this update, at least aesthetically-the vast majority of the rest were either generally uninteresting or personally infuriating in some way or another. Galleria really felt like it nailed the spirit of TF2’s lore both from the perspective of the game and the comics, and that hybrid culture worked excellently for the seasonal setting it used. Great work!

When I first saw the pyro thing my mind went “Death Corps of Krieg” on me, was thinking bout Warhammer a bit too much
Pyro got a 40k skin! That mask, the coat and the helmet are all actually just a Kriegsman from Warhammer 40k!

This is great, I just have one question Samwiz, now that it’s the end of the year and you have a break from Spanish class, are you gonna work on the other minecraft server?
For such "variaty" game options all I see is Bangers
as somebody who found you from your bad piggies playthrough, i think youd be amazing as a variety content creator

Dude this is so late that for me, Christmas is literally a couple hours away
admitedlyi was hesitant to hear youd be going to veriety but after hearing the suggestions of games
i wouldnt mind seeing your reactions to them, you got good taste
if it where me id suggest like borderlands 2, minecraft or hytale if that where to ever come out allegedly,
earthbound, mother 3, or just some otehr old games youd have to emulate. im simply spitballing
Galleria is absolutely my favorite, good both aesthetically and gameplay. Plus it’s hilarious to role-play as a shop keeper.
I'd be beyond happy if you became a source focused youtuber which seems to be what you're suggesting
Honestly Christmas Turbine, Galleria and Krampus are definitely my favorite map of this season.

@@Samwiz1 that’s fair. A lot of people did. A bit of a shame, really, they touched it before/just right after sega got it and ruined it, and then they left it in the dust and never returned.
Still a fun game to this day, just not what it used to be. Grab a friend and pop on, assuming you even want to, lol.

As something of an aspiring writer myself, could I entice you to look at and/or critique a story I'm working on? Where you voiced a desire to intimidate people with the scope and grandeur of your world (admirable ambition, btw), I've been working on crafting a (hopefully) accessible epic catered to as many interests as possible.
First of all, yes, it is admittedly a work of fan-fiction, but this one tries to keep its use of each represented franchise respectable. It takes the Kingdom Hearts aspect in this regard but on a MUCH larger scale: my end goal is to blend every conceivable media franchise into a single coherent story, each franchise inhabiting its own planet-like world (or cluster of worlds for naturally inter-planetary franchises like Star Wars) divided into five overarching "universes" and further divided into galaxy-like clusters.
That explains the setting and concept; as for the plot, that involves each of these worlds slowly coming together into a homogenized mess that NO ONE within this worlds structure wants to happen. The main focus is on a group of characters with knowledge of each of these worlds (well, most of the worlds) that try to figure out what's going on while also reversing the damage that incrementally ramps up.
As for the overarching structure of the story, while there is a linear order of chapters, there also exists the option to read through the saga of a particular franchise's world through the link buttons at the bottom of each chapter page. Eventually this will also include being able to follow a particular character's journey through the story (once I get those buttons set up).

I think this was a pretty good update, I wish there was more support for protection against bots in the game. I had a very limited time to experience the update at it's best.
I think that seeing you do a a series on another games will be fun, since, you know, the majority of the content here is just you laughing at stupid stuff, making jokes and analysing the environment.
Also, I wish you good luck with the book. I've been writing an "Ace Combat-ish/Project Wingman-esc" story for some years at this point, and it's sometimes kinda hard to put stuff to the paper, but that might be just me being a dumb teen. Anyway, Mac really should be aiming for the balls.
I have always felt that Steel's voice had a familiar tone that I couldn't really pin out but after reading the Game awards context I realized that it was the ultra-introverted tone ive heard so many times (almost said autistic but thats me now not me past) thas crazy

If I ever get the time to sit down and work on it, the most I’d say publicly is that I was working on it. I’ll have to commit to deadlines for RUclips when the time comes to see if I can break out; no such commitments would be possible if I got the time to do something truly creative.

Hey sam, ive got a game that isnt mainstream AT ALL but i think you might enjoy.
Red Alert 3: Command and Conquer.
Its the last installment to the Red Alert branch of the Command and Conquer series (which has been ruined by EA because nothing is sacred), its absolutely memetastic and over-the-top and i very much reccomend it
It is a RTS game however, so im not sure if it fits with your current content, but if that isnt a problem, i heavily reccomend Red Alert 3: Command and Conquer.

I beg you to consider Quake 2 Remaster and Entropy Zero series. Both are AMAZING things and I'd love to see someone as fun as you consider them.
Quake 2 may not be your style or it might be but even if its not, try it until atleast you get to the 5th weapon.
EZ1 is rough but EZ2 is AMAZING and on-par with the rest of the Half-Life series.
(also while you probably wont see this, thank you for playing the things you do. I get the vibe you are either going to be an amazing variety gamer[like RTGame] Or someone who will find yourself becoming niche and mostly off-grid depending on how much you and your friends truly love the same genres beyond just TF2[Doubt you don't tho I've seen better put together groups collapse over not realizing this])

You should make a Titanfall 2 playthrough. It has an amazing campaign, and the multiplayer is also really fun.
Also the way they balance sniper rifles is quite interesting because they fire fast moving projectiles instead of being hitscan so it takes a LOT more skill to have the instakill.
Alright so correction for the sniper thing.
The projectiles are no longer stopping me from dominating lobbies with it and the RE-45 Auto so I feel like even though a newbie can't do much with the Kraber, there's a SHARP cut off point where someone who knows how to deal with the projectile instantly becomes much more terrifying.
Though, in lobbies with higher level play, the Kraber seems to fall off in terms of efficacity because people keep moving) which just takes more skill to master) but also, other weapons get a lot more use and a few that are hitscan give the Kraber the run for it's money.
I feel like watching Sam play sea of thieves would be cool
