Hi Dan, Awesome video, exactly what I've been searching for. I have a 21 deg version of this. Would greatly appreciate it if you can post a video of working with the 30 deg mag. Thank you!
Have you fired it with the modified magazine? The way Milwaukee explained it is that the hammer is at a certain angle and the framing nail tip would not accept any other nail that wasn’t the specified 21 or 30 degree even if the mag was tweaked somehow to fit. the hammer is adjusted specifically to hit at a 21 or 30 degree angle and could damage the gun according to them. Let us know if this actually works and you had not issues because it would be a good mod
My gun is the 30° gun which I then purchased the 21° extended capacity magazine once modified I’ve tested and I’ve used both style nails with no issue on the job site
You do have to have the correct magazine each time so when I’m using the 30° nails I do have to have the 30° magazine on there so you just have to remove those screws and attach that magazine then use the 21° angle nails you have to switch to the 21° angle magazine so as long as you have the correct magazine on there at the time there’s no issues.
We appreciate the research that has got us to this video and this comment (all of us who were wondering about the ability to change) If I had to think of it, the hammer likely stays in place and is the same on both models. I believe the magazine is the only factor in changing degrees, and changing mag should match up with hammer blow.
I prefer the paper strip because the plastic will shoot out the side of the gun and hit you sometimes and it hurts but it’s really a preference thing. It doesn’t affect the guns either way.
i do have 21 degree Milwaukee trying to convert to 30 degree did cut off fit perfectly but only can shut one time and nail got hemmed can’t get it to work
I have the 21 can I change it to the 30 and how would I go about doing that mod. If someone has asked this already then I apologize but if U could make a vid or point me in the right direction for that mod it would be greatly appreciated saving me 400 bucks from buying a new hi.
m.ruclips.net/video/d1qBfJozs2k/видео.html Either gun can be modified one just needs a modification to the bottom one just needs a modification to the top watch the video and watch the ending it should explain the information depending on which gun you have
That does not matter the only thing that matters is that you use the correct magazine for the type of nails you’re using so if you’re using the 30° magazine that you’re using the 30° nails and if you’re using the 21° magazine you’re using the 21° nails
No one seems to say why I need the different degrees though? I'd like to see them in action. Like what do I buy and why? I don't know what I need if I don't even know what they do and no one is breaking it down on youtube.
The only reasons to use different nails are cost, availability, longer nails not available in certain degrees, Code requirements in your area, and needing to nail in a real tight area. Check this video out! ruclips.net/video/n17jFmxNrvU/видео.html
The extended capacity magazines allow you to hold a lot more nails for more work time and less downtime getting and refilling nails. You can get them at Home Depot, and most other companies who sell Milwaukee products. They can also be ordered online. 30 degree extended capacity magazine 48-08-2745 21 degree extended capacity magazine 48-08-2744
Make sure that you are using the 30° magazine when you’re using 30° nails. My gun has never jammed on me as long as I’m using the correct magazine for the type of nails that I’m using.
I may doing same wrong got 21 trying convert to 30” did all modifications but keep jamming everything time fit perfectly but got problems can’t get it to work
I find it extremely pathetic that Milwaukee would sell the guns with the smaller clips on them just to force you to buy the extended clips which they know you want to begin with so why not just sell the guns with the extended clips already on from the get-go and not waste the money making the smaller clips like I said extreme amounts of weak pathetic ignorance it's really sad that somebody that stupid is in charge
Bc many want the small magazine unless your using them commercially. In that case tools Make you money that cost is insignificant. But that cost to use for personal use isn't. I'll take the small form factor all day for personal use. You can't make everyone happy the coin can't land on both sides.
Milwaukee should make a drum magazine for nailers.

Does the paper strips vs plastic not cause a problem? Do both run well with this mod?

Good video
Does it make a difference in the gun in you use paper or plastic bands for the nails?
That does not matter the only thing that matters is that you use the correct magazine for the type of nails you’re using so if you’re using the 30° magazine that you’re using the 30° nails and if you’re using the 21° magazine you’re using the 21° nails

@@danielberkey8112 Thank you for taking the time to reply and pointing me in the right direction Daniel! I appreciate it.
@@danielberkey8112 It appears they made a change. As of today (11/12/24), they both have a max nail length of 3.5".
Does this nail gun take a paslode nails??
According to Milwaukee it does but I’ve never tried it.
Thanks!
So, initially, they are interchangeable. But Milwaukee made that small metal difference especially to push us to buy two bare tools instead of one 🤬
the 21 degree says it takes up to .148 diamiter nails and 30 degree model says it will handle up to .131 nails.???
Still the same gun
I believe the angle limits the size the nail can be in order to still get a full-size head on the nail
Thanks! Just need to order the 30 degree
As stated works bot ways.
i have 21 degree and modified
put the 30 degree it keeps jamming

When I see vids like this I hat the companies because they knew they could of did just that but they just want to make you spend more money.

Because they want to max the profits, its a pretty smart move
Capitalism bro
