I love how much this hooked you! The books were originally written by Rick Riordan with the intent to write a hero who struggles with ADHD and dyslexia for his son, so the books are really hard to put down. Every chapter ends on a little bit of a cliffhanger, and it feels like they structured the show a little bit like that too. The books are really important representation for neurodivergent kids who grow up learning again and again that they're screw-ups who can't keep things together, but who will thrive if they're just put in the right environment. Riordan has continued to write about broad, diverse swaths of kids, all of whom are capable of being heroes. He's even brought on additional authors to write own-voices books that are like Percy Jackson but centered on mythology from their cultures.
The book series this show is based on is absolutely amazing I just hope the entire story get made this time The films were awful but these first 2 episodes are far better then the films can't wait till episode 3

Then 5 books in 'The Heroes of Olympus' series - Greek yes but Roman as well (Romans changed the names and some of the characteristics, they had a few of their own gods but most they took from other religions). Then there's the 3 books in the 'Magnus Chase and the Gods of Asgard' - Norse mythology, basically Marvel got perhaps a quarter of the stories right at most. Then there's the 'Trials of Apollo' - what's it like for a god to become mortal? We want an adaptation of all of them - Kane Chronicles is supposed to be getting a 3 movie deal from Netflix but nothing's been confirmed. We also want an adaption of Riordan's non-mythology books, namely 'Daughter of the Deep'.
When monsters disintegrate, they don't die necessarily, their essence returns to Tartarus, the lowest, darkest point of the underworld where monsters and the Titans are imprisoned. Though, Percy's mom is a bit of a different story. You'll see here soon.

I read the first book and loved it. The first movie was ok. I have enjoyed watching the first two episodes. I love the cast and the music.
