The CAR statistic is probably not true. The majority of the wildlife in that country (along with most of Africa) occur OUTSIDE of national parks. This statistic was likely based on an analysis done in one of the national parks. CAR is a fairly-sized country, about the size of Texas, and has huge expanses of wilderness, which are mostly unexplored. Combine that with a small human population, there are probably way more lions than what we're currently aware of.

E.g., it's well known. that in his youth Alexander Macedonian hunted lions at the foot of a certain mountain not far from his father's palace. However, the Romans came and took all lions, leopards and bears to Rome for gladiator fights. As a result, there were no lions left in Greece and Macedonia and very few in Minor Asia. I hope two lions in Gabon and five lions in Malawi will have some cubs. 🙏 And I hope good people will care about this gorgeous animals.
And God bless Tanzania. ❤
I thought Asian lion was extinct
Thanks India for keeping it alive
I started to discredit this list when it showed 30 lions for Angola, and when NAMIBIA wasn’t listed I became sure that this list is completely inaccurate!
We have 4 biggest national parks in the world such a blessing
Lioness population is interesting too :)
,, Where's Namibia?🇳🇦🇳🇦🇳🇦🇳🇦,🇳🇦
The CAR statistic is probably not true. The majority of the wildlife in that country (along with most of Africa) occur OUTSIDE of national parks. This statistic was likely based on an analysis done in one of the national parks.
CAR is a fairly-sized country, about the size of Texas, and has huge expanses of wilderness, which are mostly unexplored. Combine that with a small human population, there are probably way more lions than what we're currently aware of.
Superb
In December I was at Chicualacuala) Chikwarakwara where the borders of Mozambique, Zimbabwe and South Africa meet. There were about twenty or so lions. Which country have you put them in? I confess that I did not have the courage to check their passports to confirm!
Now india have Lions Tiger Leopard snowe leopard and cheeta also. Thanks to indian forest conservation .
Cheetah are extinct in India since 1950's.

@@richardsking I hope we will have them too in future 😃😃
before rise of Rome southern and eastern Europe too were full of lions. They did the same with the Barbary lions, but they somehow survived until the middle of the 20th century.
