I usually agree with AU on most topics, but he's insane on this take. It's not like we are in October and we're deciding to tank the season, this is february already, and we're not beating the Celtics or Cavs in a best of 7 (even if we get past the play in). So it's better to go for the pick, even if it's below 50% chances of keeping it.
And a GOOD rookie can def always help a team next year.

In many ways I feel like he's simply virtue signaling fandom, as if caring about the sixers were a moral cause. Tanking a month ago would have only helped land them in 6th worst record which only gives the Sixers a 46% chance of keeping the pick.
