Did Colombia Records own her voice? Was she not allowed to sing songs she wanted? She has a lower voice usually, and I feel like her singing higher pitched songs really wasn't good for her... I hope it didn't damage her vocal cords

She was also nervous. You would be nervous too if you were performing on TV.
Preforming live, in front of millions of people (due to how many people watched Ellen at the time) she had a back track but.. so do a lot of artists. She's really good at singing live, her voice wasn't exactly built for really high notes. Doesn't mean she's a bad singer, also you can tell her voice is kinda strained. Prob bc she had to perform previously

The show was called Victorious.. Victoria Justice’s name was in the title... Dan Schneider literarly made that show for her after working with her on Zoey 101. Also at that time nobody knew who Ariana Grande even was
