In that sense he is a living relic ... one who deserved to go back to his time as he did, and live a wonderful life with Ms. Carter.
Gods, aliens, mutants, super powered humans, magicians, normal humans in armor, and more showed up when Captain America and rest needed them. That's huge respect for the team.
