April 27th, 2013. My buddies and I go down to Keokuk Iowa to golf. We've been doing it now for 20+ years. One night, we walk into our usual supper hangout called the Cellar for their Prime Rib special. Walked in and saw group of "rockers". I saw Jeff right away but didn't recognize him. Thought he looked like a mini, weathered Vince Neal. We sat and ordered. My buddy, who's in his mid 40s (and into 80s metal like me) was facing their table. He said to me, "Hey ...that's Jeff Labar". I turned around, looked and said, "The Vince Neal wannabe? Hell no". We continued to eat. But my buddy didn't give up. He kept on looking at their table. He finally gets up and goes over as they were leaving. I turned around and looked. I could read my buddy's lip as he said, "Are you Jeff Labar". The man nodded. They shook hands and talked. I was wrong. So I go over and talked to Jeff and got a picture. A tall blonde guy in their group says to us, "Hey...we're playing down the road later on tonight. You guys should come and check it out". That man was no other than Eric Brittinham. So later on, we did go and watch their acoustic set. $10 dollars and stood literally 7ft away from the band. It was Labar and Brittinham along with another singer. They played some acoustic Cinderella. What a great time. And the memories of meeting him at such an odd place is something I'll never forget.
Love your story, how cool meeting Jeff & Eric. I saw Cinderella in concert at Roanoke, VA civic center. I briefly met, talked to the drummer Fred Coury. I was in hurry that night, I wish I could go back in time, and talked longer. Cinderella was, is one of my favorites from 1980's rock era. 😎🔥

This comes a bit full-circle for me. My first-ever concert was Cinderella with Winger and BulletBoys on April 21, 1989 at Hampton Coliseum; I was 15, and my brother took me. I met Jeff back in 1990 or 91 at Thoroughbred Music in Tampa Florida. He was the sweetest guy. What I "Think" I remember the most was how never endingly thankful he was of Tom Keifer for choosing him as his guitarist. Jeff said something to the effect that he had auditioned fairly early on and Tom kept auditioning other players and finally circled back to Jeff for different reasons but, if my memory serves, Jeff never tried to out play Tom. It was a chemistry thing. Tom, sir, if I've got this wrong ,there are a lot Jack and Cokes between then and now! Cheers!
That was Awesome. I absolutely Love and Respect Tom. I met Jeff several times and he was, as Tom said, a good soul. What a super Nice , down to earth guy, Jeff was. He would really spend time and talk to his fans.

Sounds weird but so many Great Artists seem to pass in Jan. Tom has given such an emotional speech about Jeff. Can hear the Love & Friendship between them.
I worked as a cook next to Jeff in Nashville. He didn't like to talk about Cinderella but otherwise was a nice guy. It took a few weeks before I even knew he was their guitar player.
I love Tom Kiefer he is my all-time favorite… And I am so glad that he is saying positive things about Jeff because when Jeff died they were not on good terms...... I am so glad Tom has the kindest heart to be seeing all of these positive things ❤️
I know that Tom and Jeff had their challenges, but it's great to hear the sort of bond that they had. Jeff was a terrific guitarist and showman. While I hope Cinderella can get out there again one day, it won't be the same without Jeff.
Tom is a legend… I have the utmost respect for him, I mean, hell, that woulda been so scary to experience partial paresis mid show but, Carl Thomas Keifer has proved to us he’s a fighter. He is also a top-notch guitarist - I dug his playing style a heap more once I viewed that @Loudwire vid. I know this is probably an unpopular opinion but I prefer “Still Climbing” to “Heartbreak station” but no Cinderella track resonated more instantly with me in the manner “The road’s still long” and “Coming home” have done.
I've always been a true Cinderella fan and got to see them live with Winger, I was late to the show and missed the Bullet Boys opening, all 3 bands toured together that year.....Cinderella was for sure part of the hair band metal era but they were very unique with their style and sound. Guitar work wasn't typical at all, Tom using a plastic finger slide and adding some twang in the sound was definitely not the norm. Hoping to catch Tom live at some point soon.
I agree I haven’t drank for a very long time. I am in Breast Cancer ♋️ Remission. Now I have Diabetes. My best friend in the world, someone I’d known for almost 25 years, & been married to for just about a month away from 23 years passed away at home on September 3rd. He was 65. His don was. 11-8-57 He was an Honorably discharged, medically discharged, permanently disabled, Marine Corps. Vietnam Veteran. I am all alone, so yes, the sadness is there, but I have to make sure I stay clean & sober every day I have a 3 yr old dog that loves me & misses my Husband to pieces. Me too.
For some reason today, Reggie Wu popped into my head so I googled him. As I’m reading the article he mentioned that Jeff had died. I’ve been away from the S Jersey/Philly glam scene since I married my own bass player whose band did many gigs with Cinderella at The Galaxy. All the memories of watching Cinderella long before they were signed, every Saturday night. I still remember when they came into the club after getting signed. My main memory of Jeff is him strolling into The Galaxy wearing a floor length fur coat. All those great bands from so long ago now. I still have my “bootleg” records of Cinderella, Britny Fox and Tangier. Great, great memories. (Galaxy peeps, remember Bill?) 😉. Very sad to hear of his passing albeit a little late. PS I even remember Fred having to leave the club after their set was over because he was just a ‘kid’

Me my son and little grandsons saw jeff and eric in cheap thrill band Cincinnati park. We were front and center to jeff, cool fun day
Ahh man that’s not friendship that’s brotherhood. Rest in paradise Jeff.
Jeff was an amazing guitar player. Love Cinderella.
First band I ever saw in concert!
Привет ! Том -уникален ! Он вне конкуренции !!!
I still would like ti see Cinderella if a good respectable replacement could happen rip jeff the songs created had soul and really caught my ear !
RIP Jeff. It sounds like Jeff had a big heart.
flipping his guitar over his shoulder in heaven!
Omg! I didn't know! I'm sorry Tom. May he rest on peace.
Rock on, Jeff.
❤
We will miss him
Kiefer…… great songwriter and musician. RIP Jeff
Tom Keifer is as they say...a good somebody, enough said.
R.i.p Jeff!
A truly big loss for the music world. God bless him & his loved ones.😞🙏❤️
Rest Peacefully Jeff❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Me too.
Tom kiefer por dices se puede entender que había una gran amistad jeff fue un excelente guitarrista
Ah ya can hear Tom's hurting . R.I.P Jeff
Tough to lose an old friend.
My prayers go out to everyone in this world who is hurting; this includes rocker dudes because My Father in heaven loves them too. And...so, do I. :)
😇😢❤❤
TEMPLE UNIVERSITY RIP ☦️🇺🇲
PHILADELPHIA USA 🇺🇲🏥
What was your band?
@@craiglevitan2537 My husband’s band was Valkyre/Valhalla. They warmed up for Cinderella at MacDade House among others. So many great bands back then. My friend dated Mike Regina (White Fox). I miss those days. So many stories/memories

You can hear the regret in Tom's voice for ultimately turning his back on Jeff in his biggest time of need
Loyal to strats as well. He had some very stellar strats. Leo 2nd to none design, many other guitar companys follow body design, charvelle, jackson, Ibanez, just to name few.
Ever time metal god pass part me dies 😢
aloha from totally chemtrailed hawaii.
It was a blow to lose Jeff
