Having a 44 speed infantry is great in Domination. The burst damage from Witchbrew also lowers the peak number of enemy entities able to fight in the same place, reducing them to a trickle instead of a proper reinforcement.
Whip hellstriders are objectively better against all targets compared to the spear ones. Spears have 1 (one) more MA against large targets and cost 50 gold less. Whips have 5 more WS against large and 10 against infantry. If their WS and BVL both got buffed by 5 they would be in a reasonable position in my opinion.
Manticores are still pretty great, maybe not as ubiquitous they were in TWW 2, it could be cheapest source of terror in the game. I can't think of any other cheaper..morgul haunter and RoR units with terror cost more. Tombking hero with desert strike on foot could be cheaper..but an odd pick
Maybe it's because I'm not experienced enough myself, but I just don't understand why the Dark Elfs player left his lord (who was also his caster) continually within range of the hellcanon and valkia. Can anyone tell me if it was really such an impactful decision (since he won anyway)?
Well, to be able to reinforce quickly and buff the leadership of his units. The dragon character is an incredible doable fighter too, not using it would be a waste too. Just a slight miss play he got caught without any reinforcement

I notice a trend among the best players that when their lord is threatened by long range units they just pull it back slightly but are never willing to retreat it out of range of the threat (near edge of map for example) and making the enemy retarget or waiting until the artillery is shut down. I wonder why?
Because having a 3000 gold centerpiece unit doing nothing for half the game until its perfectly safe is objectively worse than risking it in combat. Especially if the unit has big buffs/ debuffs or terror you want them helping turn the fight to keep your front line in better shape than the enemy's

To be fair, the changes to Witch Elves do make sense. Lore wise they do wield poisoned blades and go into murder rampages.

@@Cpt0bvioussone or two patches ago. Gained anti large melee and the shooting became a multi shot that’s solid against infatry.

Its damage is the same but MP went from large to ultra unit scale, increasing everyone's health, so proportionally it does less damage now.
