You know, I wasn't expecting Kikyou to be so feminine. I was expecting the fifth stage boss to be another beastly monster girl like Magura and Sekito, but instead I get this femme, dignified lady in an armored petticoat.
This and the stage 5 theme have quickly become some of my favorite fangame songs. As another commenter said, there isn't a single song from this game that I don't like.
Been waiting for her to appear since MPP years ago and Kikyo didn't disappoint at all! The fact that she's Masakado's mistress instead of genderbend Masakado was a twist tho.
@Finley Cullen, or you could stop spamming that supposed copy-pasta message onto Touhou-related videos? Your comment makes no sense in response to Ximsol182's comment
Took me way too long to realize she doesn't have arms. Now that I recall, I think Heavenly Gathering of Clouds had a character with a similar concept ALSO as the stage 5 boss. Maybe both reference the same thing? EDIT: I looked it up and it's Hirakage Kiyome from HGoC. They can also remove their eye..? Maybe I'm thinking too hard about this and both of these characters reference entirely different things. Also this theme god dayum. Wanwan does it again.
so i never played mpp but i looked at the ending i thout it was reimu when she was angry and it was kikyo i even looked at reimu and okuu's scenario and holy shit they just forshadowed her 7 years ago
If this counts to the "Name/Specie titled Song", Kikyou's theme is the same as Satori's, Murasa's and Nue's theme. But Kikyou is a name not a Youkai tho.
@@therunawaygirl5096 i love the fact that wanwan is responsible for composing the final boss or stage 5 boss themes most of the time.... just goes to show theyre objectively the best composer on ido's team, since the best is saved for last ;)
I think it's neat how if you listen closely at 1:38 you can hear the piano lightly play the main melody. Maybe it's just me but that took me a couple listens to notice
Wanwan try not to make absolute banger challenge (Impossible)

"YOU CUUUUUUURRRRR!"
"Indeed, I am ON! A! ROLL!!"

@@R.P.Genocraft Dignified and silly aren't antonyms-
@@GarryDumblowski It certainly takes away that dignified first impresssion lmfao-
All these comments about Kikyou's identity as Masakado's mistress got mye thinking about what would Fumikado think of her-
導命樹のEDから存在は気になってたけどまさかこんな神曲引っ提げて登場するなんて…なんかもう感動したよ。

I kinda prefer Full Stage 1 and Stage 4 and 6 boss themes, but every theme is worthy to listen.

@Kyson Mathew, it's obvious that you are using and alt account.
Masakado-chan is easily the best part of this game, holy moly.
this one is my favorite track of the game
So she doesn't have a body, just a head (the armor is empty). So, a yukkuri?
Nah, she's just an honorary Kirby character.
It just Sekibanki ultra pro max +
A head possessing a ghostly body
Took me way too long to realize she doesn't have arms.

That snare is so iconic.
wanwan氏は最高だぜ
This song is excellent at a high volume with headphones!
lovely music.
She's not Masakado, she was Masakado's mistress which was Kikyou-hime (the kanji is the same as her name).
七つ子「まさ門さん」のイメージが強すぎて...
出だし好き✨
Of course it’s a Wanwan song
これぞ海鮮堂って曲(特に桃源宮の色が濃い)
god this is my favorite boss theme in this game second to Starve Calamity
海鮮堂感がすごい
The character witht he sans eyes

This theme reminds me World Yamataizer somehow
Youre right :o same energy as the SISfister
it's just world yamataizer remix with mystical power plant soundfont

Holy heads you’re right
Best theme in the game I'd say
Ok, this is more fit to an Extra stage than a 5 stage boss theme

Black Ventus, huh...
Samurai Dlanor A Knox
rayman if he was a waifu
Seems like there's no track of music in this game that I DON'T like, kinda like RSS.
The intro sounds like Cytus, maybe it's just me lmao
Seto-taisho? Whos that
knowing that the Theme is meant to Sound and feel like MPP makes it worse
Why? Cause you remember how great every theme from that game actually was...
The themes both in IBP and MPP are bangers though. What's not to love?
