Completely agree with you. She is not an ashole for not wanting to date a trans woman ofc, but I highly doubt her friends were calling her an ashole for that. If that actually happened, I could see them calling her an ashole from the constant misgendering and lack of respect.
However, all of it seems pretty unlikely:
1)her friends didn't know her enough not to set her up with a trans woman? And they didn't tell her? Ok. Maybe.
    2) she had that opinion and was nice enough during the date to be asked on a second one?
    3) her friends called her transphobic for not wanting to date her?
This woman has quite dense friends, in that case.
I might be wrong, but I believe this is one of those made up situations to make people angry, that are often used in "debates". I have seen a lot of people going around saying "they are calling me names because I don't wanna sleep with them 😭" when most trans folk I know wouldn't really wanna couple with a person like that.
Anyways I appreciate the kindness and insight with which you approach situations. And I love the colour combos in these!!! ❤

U might see that on yt or tiktok but nit reddit. People are not going to make up a story and take that long to write it just to get a couple replies that mean nothing. And u see stuff like this everyday. And ik I sure would be pissed my friends tried to set me up with trans anything before not talking to me about it before hand.

Agreed with your opinion. OP is being transphobic, but not for refusing to date someone their not attracted to, but by refusing to recognize her date's gender because it doesn't meet her standards of womanhood. Friends could lay off a bit, because what do they expect op to do, force herself to keep dating someone she's clearly not interested in?

According to op however, all he did was shave and wear a dress. I know if I was a lesbian, and my friend set me up with a man in a dress acting feminine with male genitalia, i’d not only be offended, but I would completely cut that friend out of my life. A dress and a feminine character does not make you a woman. There’s so much more to being a woman than just that.

Transphobic is someone who hates them. Just cause she doesn't want to date one does not mean she's transphobic. I ain't dating no man in dress period. And I don't hate trans people. People can do what they want but they ain't gonna be hating on people who dont wanna be in that circus period!!!! It's everyone's preference who and what they want to be and be with.. she likes real women. Doesn't mean she hates trans people... everyone is so quick to call people transphobic but I'm sure anyone of u wouldn't be dating no man in a dress either! And that's drag anyways not trans so people should get it clear.. trans is someone who has a full sex change. Drag is someone who just dresses like women. A lot of difference.. either way it's still her body her Choice! She's a lesbian she wants a real curvy woman..

Exactly. I think some communication between OP and friends would have been a great thing to help avoid this situation in general but dang, OP has transphobic beliefs, purposely misgendering the date and stuff...hopefully she learns to open her mind a bit more (and not about her preferences because people are entitled to those, but her general attitude and talk about trans people who don't fit her exact views of what trans is/"should be")

Are people seriously sticking up for OP? She's calling a trans woman a man. That's transphobic. Not wanting to date a transgender person is fine, there's nothing wrong with preference, but misgendering that person afterwards is transphobic and disrespectful.

OP is the AH, not for who she was/wasn't attracted to but for the reasons that all her friends called her out. They know her better than any of us. If she wasn't the AH they wouldn't have named her as one. She was very comfortable misgendering to the Reddit community. I imagine she was much worse with the people that she assumed would agree with her. (see deadnaming)

OP is not the asshole she was simply stating her honest opinion the reason she was not attracted to this person I feel as if the friend was not being completely honest with her about the person she was going to meet

I’m sorry, girl, but OP is NTA. OP was as kind as possible when she rejected him. I agree with OP on this one, her friend should have given a warning to make sure this would be something she’s comfortable with. She’s not being transphobic, she’s being honest.

See shut of been told SHE was trans and she was extremely kind to HER when letting HER down, but the way she preferred to HER The entire story shows that she most likely wasn’t trying to be trans. Phobic but she was being trans phobic

    • @Rose-yi3uy
      @Rose-yi3uy 3 месяца назад +2

@@Rosevalleywcue where was she being transphobic though? OP made it clear she had no issues with him being a trangender women, much less any transgender whatsoever. It just wasn’t her thing. Most people are like that, but not because they’re transphobic, but because they have a preference

  • @god_extentionofsource

OP is not the AH. I hate that we live in a society where being honest and and speaking your perspective is looked at as disrespectful. The trans person looked like a man in a dress to her so that how she described them. Being a lesbian mean you like biological women… not people that FEEL like they are women and claim to be so. Let’s please just look at facts. Her friends however are 7 out of 10 for setting her up with a trans person and for arguing with her and telling her she’s wrong when she expressed her preferences. If they knew her so well they wouldn’t have picked a worse blind date. SMH. People are so numb to logic these days it’s literally scary…

Definitely not the AH. OP is gay the last thing she wants to do is date a man who is confused about his sexuality. She is NOT transphobic for not wanting to date a cross dresser.
