Oh, I adore Rocky… When you think you don’t have a friend in the world… You have a good old Rocky ♥️♥️♥️!Can’t wait to start using the manticore in a few months. Thank you for all your wonderful videos!
One of the things I learned a few years ago if you get in an area that you want to be really thorough on you will want to keep your search coil as flat as possible to the ground, I was in Tennessee a pretty well known metal detector and treasure hunting store ( Kellyco) and they were really friendly and helpful and it was there that I got some really good tips on the use of detectors and after they told me to really try to develop the routine of automatically keeping your search coil flat facing the ground I didn't think it would make a big difference but started doing it anyway and it works great. We naturally swing the detector in our sweep pattern and when your coil is slanted or tipped up even the slightest it can cause it to pick up in front or sides of the detector instead of under and seem like ghost signals or interference whereas flat it gets deeper and more accurate and these coils also detect around all sides of the detector so be mindful of that. Good luck and great viseo.
Welcome to the CTX screen! different # display but same target trace, 2d screen capability and even looks like it is really programmable! I am still on the fence with these new machines. I have the slower processor CTX and Etrac. I purchased an Eq 800 and used it for a year but the chatter up here in the PNW on that thing drove me nuts! Hope they cleaned it up a bit with this version with some of that CTX tech. I will be watching this machine to see how it does. One of my hunt buddies will be running one of these so I can see first hand. Thanks for the videos on this!
I absolutely love my Deus 2. I have had a fantastic year with it. But the 2D screen on the Manticore is incredible. I pre-ordered the Manticore and I can't wait to get my hands on it!
Thanks Scott, that's real interesting, 2 separate bars, for 2 separate targets, I always figured that 1 of these days, We'll be looking at images, rather than numbers, but numbers telling us depth, And what the latest Metal detector technology, the size of a smartphones. Exciting to see what the next few years will bring. Thanks again. And tell rocky I said, "Hey yo rocky !!
@@MentalMetal I'm signed up as a patreon. Does the screen on the Manticore show up better than the CTX? It would be interesting to see them side by side. Thanks again!
First time I ever heard an iron bark on a machine! 😉Unique machine man. Seriously though now, it seems to please you, which is a good indicator, since you already work a D2. Cheers for the review!
@@MentalMetal keep the manticore videos coming. Makes me even more eager for the call that my manticore is here and ready to ship. Your videos cut the learning curve down significantly. Loved the live dig today. The 2 d graph is everything I hoped it was. I live close to Gettysburg. Have to contact you this spring and go tear some fields up .
The X-Terra Pro in your same test garden had similar depth on the 10 inch dime and other coins, the increased sensitivity of the Minelab Manticore can seldom be used at least on this planet, but it's great for air tests :-)
Super video, hey i,d like to see you test the Manticore on a wet sandy salt water beach!, Have seen several videos on the Manticore but only on land hunts, please someone show it at a saltwater beach
I would have thought with the advertised more power some of those would have rung through clearer. Maybe the screen and the increased number range are the improvements.
one thing I forgot about was that I was only running my sensitivity at 16 because I was messing around with it in my garage. I should have had it up to around 23 or 25 maybe higher which would have made a big difference.
New sub- thank you for a great demostration!! Just got mine and am still doing research- question- I have been a Minelab user for a couple of decades, and I've always scrubbed the ground. From what I've seen (not yet read), I see people keeping it about an inch in the air with excellent results- is this something new & recommended for the Manticore? Thank you! Jeff
Depending on the sensitivity, you should be fine the way swing. You make get some falsing from hitting corn stalks or the ground when you have it too high.
I'd be interested in seeing what the screen would show with, say, 5 targets under the coil, like two square nails, a small gold ring, Indian head (fatty) and silver quarter.....that's a good (just about perfect) representation of the conductivity scale.
If you like the eTrac then keep using it. I have the CTX 3030 and I love that machine but I think the Manticore has a lot more to offer. and faster. However, I do miss the 2 number target ID. I always thought that was a great way of showing you the numbers.
@@MentalMetal Maybe I phrased my question wrong? How does the specific 2D feature of the Manticore differ from the eTrac display? Is it better? I have an Equinox 600 also but wished it had a display that gave the level of info that the eTrac did. I am hoping the Manticore is a combo of the two but am unsure.
Hey David sorry for the misunderstanding. I honestly don't know since I've never used the eTrac. I know that the display is very similar to the what the 3030 gave you but its definitely clearer and I would have to think more accurate.
I feel bad for all you relic and old coin hunters. It won't be long before the majority of the old stuff will be gone. Good thing I only hunt the beach
I feel the ❤ for the Manticore and the ⭐️of the show, Rocky! Thank you for ALL your great tutorial videos!
Thanks Peggy and rocky does have his own channel now. :-)

Thank you for your review. Would have been interesting to see all your targets scanned from two directions 90-degrees apart.
Noted!

How did you find this one LOL. Its not released to public yet haha.

Thanks Kenny! Are you the Ken V I can never get hold of? Its def more clearer on the screen but your picture is smaller.
Rocky wants to play! Manticore looks very impressive! The clariety of the large screen is top notch.
It is super sharp
That Manticore walked right through that test garden like it knew what it was doing!
Hit them all for sure.
Very nicely done. Will be interesting to see what the Equinox 700 I have on order and the 900 do too.
Coming soon!

Its turning out to be a nice machine but I still love my D2.
marry Christmas 🎄 have a brilliant time 😀 your brother tezza 👍
Same to you my friend!
Love Rocky. I have a yellow lab never a dull moment lol.
Thank you! It never is with Rocky haha

We aren't far away so it me up. I hope you do better up that way than me. Permissions are tough and pounded based on the ones I've been on.
nice, thank you! that was a great test out of box general test.

Super sweet, love learning about the 2d screen bar at the bottom of the display....xtra info is good!
More to come!

If I could get to one I would. Thanks for watching. I am really looking forward to a beach hunt.
I really want to get my hands on mine, I wish Minelab would get in gear.
They are coming.
Thanks for the video. Rocky reminds me of a black lab I had (Ricky). Mine wore out more than one tennis ball, along with me, LOL.
my pleasure. Labs are great dogs and Rocky is a special one.
Thanks for the video. Man, I'd love to get that thing in our city park.
You should!
Thanks for vid.
No problem!
That Minelab Mantitore rocks. I hope you test the Minelab Equinox 700 and 900. Great video

performance aside, the design of the manticore sets the bar a notch higher than the rest of the field
Ha, What a handsome dog
Thank you!
Nice
Thanks
wich is better deus2 or manticore.. for deep coins
I would say in the right conditions the Manticore is slightly better.
How big is that shell frag in your garden?
Maybe half the size of my palm, not too big.
Rocky rocks :-)
We love him :-)

Loose the Dog on video days 🤙🤙
Oh man the first diss for Rocky he will not be pleased 😒
Does anyone know if the Nox 800 coils are compatible with the Manticore?
They are not.
@@MentalMetal Thanks. Wishful thinking.
Which one should I buy manticore or Deus 2?
Get them both LOL 😆. It's a tough call right now.
Go Rocky
Rocky looks excited by the 2D screen results, don't blame him. Relic hunting in Iron looks like it's going to be much easier. Good vid
I think the screen will help a lot.
Throw the dam ball !!!!!!!! lol
He is a little impatient
Great info, you need to buy an automatic ball launcher for Rocky to keep him busy, lol.
Yes I agree 100%
Rocky knows what is happening .. you have a detector and Rocky don't have a bone 🦴🦴🦴🦴🦴 ... Not fair
He is a little jealous.
the beast is here...and it s not rocky hahaaaaa
LOL
leave rocky alone, rocky is being rocky being dog . haha she wants to play.
Thanks I'll let Rocky know you are in his camp. :-)

Rocky is all jazzed up because it’s manticore day, more importantly Taylor Swift s birthday!
LOL I didn't know it was Taylor's day too. haha
For real Rocky ? On Manticore Day no less. Th 2D screen reminds me of a fish finder.
Fish finder? I guess I can see that. :-)
