Cool I just bought a V6 3.7 2013 mustangs. 79000 miles . In great shape like new .. I am a car detail and this car is awesome. No mods yet . Stock butt fast 305 hpr. 0 to 60 . I cam really close with traction off and sport mode . Using the manual shifter. It is an automatic transmission. Like this car alot ..keeping for a long time .... Like your video .... it's great too see V6 and not a V8 Gt . Great car. And fast . Won't put it down. But I was not able to afford one . With gas prices . So all you have V6 kudos too you . Have fun ...... driving ......
Damn you had my thumbs up until I see you bashing your own car with someone. The 3.7 is a great car. You want to drop a v8 in it and your parents house their rules. So what you are saying is you like the car until a GT guy comes around and asked the stupid why not a GT BS. Then go back and forth wit him when you see he likes you think your car is shit like he does. Get your v8 give that car to someone that will love it and REALLY love it. Not the so called love you have.
You got to consider density altitude. You can download a da app, some will give you a da and a estimation off horsepower you are making for the given conditions.
@@Cam.Ar0 it depends on the gearing too. The regular Base models with the 2.73 gears will likely be 5.5+ while the one with 3.15s can do better at around 5.2
I need to try a 0-60 in mine. I have MPT tune, BBK shorty headers, BBK Throttle Body, Borla Atak Catback, Airaid CAI, so I’m hoping I’ll get a decent time lol. Would be better if I didn’t have 2.73’s 💀
Nothing wrong with that 3.7. they sound good with stock exhaust! I had a 2016 Lincoln mkz with the cyclone V6 and loved it! Good sounding V6. I like V8s better. Have owned plenty of those. Recently had a 2012 Hyundai Genesis 5.0 with 429 hp stock and a 2013 charger rt. Nothing wrong with a V6 mustang. Would still be enjoyable
I recently rented a Challenger V6 and based upon its built in 0-60 timer did 6.1 seconds to 60. Not sure why guys throw a bunch of bolt on stuff to these V6 Mustangs but leave the economy car 2.73 in place. If I do get one of these I will add a TB as they greatly increase the mid range torque the 3.7 is missing, a 3.73 gear set and a 93 tune...and nothing else. This alone should get one close to under 5 0-60.
3.73s Driveshaft Intake and tune Hit a 5.13 on the strip and 5.3-5.4s consistently on the street but I just spin so bad on 275s need some suspension work
Best time is a 4.73 so far. I have 93 MPT Tune, 373 rear gears, shorty headers, CAI, axleback. Havent datalogged yet.. going to soon. Also gonna lower it a bit
I use to have a 4.0L V6 Mustang but I never bothered testing the 0 to 60 thing.I like being a gentle driver not an abuser,I knew it had power under the hood didn't need the car to prove anything.
im pretty sure people have done sub 5's in these but most of those guys are close to full bolt ons and 3.73 or 4.10 gears. Best Ive done with my stock 2.73s was 5.8 but that was with wheel hop so may have a bit more in it once I get relocation brackets and LCAs.
Lucky I have a 2014 and you can only get it in the PP. I recently got 3.73s installed though and they are amazing. Also, MPT is the tune to run for the V6 they are much better than Bama.
@@TheGTGuys well I'm thinking about getting a black 2012 with the same stripe and wheels and has buttercream or saddle brown leather seats. Would that be considered as a special edition?
Now if you had done ported intakes instead of the BBK TB and CAI and had MPT instead of Bama you would've probably been over a half second quicker to 60
The issue with the 3.7 V6 is the lack of torque the amount of horsepower it makes stock is not that bad but it gets held back severely by the lack of any real torque and terrible stock gearing
I bet that is a big part of it too. The best run I had was on a set of worn out Sumitomo HTRZ-III performance tires. Even though they were worn, they hooked much better than these AS tires when warm.
Thats a good question, honestly though I can't remember. Traction didn't seem to be an issue even with advancetrac off. Next time I will try it with traction control on and off to see if it makes any difference.
The GT Guys yes I know it's a good pretty quick car I know a lot of girls that drive them but I personally would not ever buy a car that offers a v8 In a v6
If I were buying it again I'd go with the GT, but as a first car I am extremely happy with it. I got it when I was 19 and still living with my parents. They were worried about me killing myself with 420hp in the 5.0 at that time (lol). Their house, their rules... I think I'll probably keep this car forever and eventually swap in a Ford Performance crate motor.
The GT Guys good answer sir yes parents home parents rules I also bought my first car a 19 it's a 1988 mustang 5.0 and I was born in 1988 as well and I still have that car too also keeping it for ever it's my baby plus I got 2 kids and too many memories with that car in the last almost 10 years owning it
Thats exactly how I feel about mine. I've had it for over 7 years now, lots of good memories. I have 1 son and another on the way so I want to drop a V8 in this car and one day give it to them.
I had a 2011 v6 w 6speed base model. They need gears mine had 2.73 rear. Needs at least 3.73. Great fuel economy 35 plus on highway.

The 87 octane by itself makes it slow
Going from a V6 Mustang to a Flat Plank V8 GTG350 is going to be a whole new experience for you.
I hope you been practicing your manual shifting.

It depends on altitude, ambient air temperature, and tires.

The American mustang V6 project build claims to have gotten a 4.6 with the same mods I have + 3.73 gears. I'm running the factory 3.31's right now
The GT Guys Factory gears for the V6 mustang are actually 2.73. Only the performance pack V6 gets the 3.31 and it's manual only
Samuel Chan that's not true, prior to the performance pack in 2011 the 3.31 was a standalone option. I know because I ordered it :)
Lucky I have a 2014 and you can only get it in the PP. I recently got 3.73s installed though and they are amazing. Also, MPT is the tune to run for the V6 they are much better than Bama.
Mine does 5.7 seconds with no tune. I have a 2012 v6 convertible
My best time ever was 5.1
Dude was this seriously in Mexico 😭😭
Spoder Mane always man, always 😂😂😂
Hey what's up man, just wondering if your mustang is a special edition. I've only seen 2 with that stripe and same wheels. Thanks 👍
Yes this is the Mustang club of America edition. Mine is 1 of 88 in grabber blue for 2011

Yes I’m sure with those mods I could have broken 5s. My best time so far was 5.1, it was on a cooler day though
The issue with the 3.7 V6 is the lack of torque the amount of horsepower it makes stock is not that bad but it gets held back severely by the lack of any real torque and terrible stock gearing
The torque is plenty for a v6 lol, the dodge 3.6l has less or same power and less tq but feels tourqy enough as a daily driver same for the ford 3.7l
Mine does 5.5 with just a full exhaust and strategy tune I live in NM it's like 80-110°degrees
I live in nm it does not get over 100
So you had a throttle body and cold air intake with a bama tune? So you were basically stock lol
Not sure why you didn't brake torque it and launch at 3-4000 rpm instead. There's about 1 second for you . Thanks for putting the video together.
It would probably wheel spin a bit at 4k rpm launch, launching at 2000-2500 is better for a tourqy but stable launch.
Is something wrong with it? Nice car and best color possible.
It sounds like a j series 😈
Dame those 6s are fast
Mine would do 5.3 all day with no traction controll, roush cold air intake and custom straight pipes. No tune...
Gears??
What state you live in
it's prob just the tires, and like you said gt350 make up for that
I bet that is a big part of it too. The best run I had was on a set of worn out Sumitomo HTRZ-III performance tires. Even though they were worn, they hooked much better than these AS tires when warm.
Question - what exactly is the exhaust setup? Thank you. J.
+pytulyn1 exhaust setup is stock. Only mods are CAI throttle body and tune
Lol my 2017 V6 Honda Accord Coupe would beat this. And it only has a 3.5L and isn't even technically a sports car.
was traction off when you did it in 5.1
Thats a good question, honestly though I can't remember. Traction didn't seem to be an issue even with advancetrac off. Next time I will try it with traction control on and off to see if it makes any difference.
Florida does not connect to mexico lol
