Awesome Cinematography. I love the take right after the Nicks Promo (14:45) no crazy music , just the nature of birds singing. Awesome. Great Video man.
Good job folks! We left our decades long metropolitan lives in 2014, when we moved to South Knowlesville, New Brunswick, both for affordable land and a slower pace of life :) All the best.
Happy with the decision? We often consider going even further north but with the little one now we would be formfitting granny help and daycare which is pretty critical these early days.
This channel should have at least 1 million Subscribers or MORE. What an awesome and inspirational channel to follow. Anyway, congratulations Trustin, Caitlin and baby Timber on all you've accomplished. I wish you nothing by tons of success in the future. Appreciate you!!!!!!
Raising a cabin on your own, with your own lumber in a beautiful forest. What can be more inspiring than that!? Thank you for sharing the video and thumbs up from Sweden
Great video! Mrs Timber-those cheesy leek croissants look amazing! little one-you are out there helping mom and dad! Good girl! Mr. Timber the cabin looks great!!! Can’t wait to see you all in July❤
So happy you put a video out!!! I cannot believe how big she is and she is absolutely beautiful!!! you guy did great on the build today!! Keep them coming!

I am so proud to watch you people husband, and wife actually do something as a team and accomplish something you really make my day. I hope it worked out for you for the rest of your life. You were good together God’s with you all the way by the way, you have a very beautiful Daughter love her forever I wish you the best I will still watch
I like so much building with wood things , but sometimes is so expensive you know , just start you re project and done..., it's not too simple or for me it's hard because in Romania it's very expensive to build something like this, i really apreciate you're work and still of working , i learnead so much things watching our videos , thanks dude !
The cabin is looking AWESOME, you & your wife are great working together ! And your daughter is so cute. Love your video's because of the the great care and craftsmanship, that you put into each piece of the construction !
Hi Caitlin and Trustin. First of all your daughter is so precious. I was with my two toddler grandkids today and toddlers are such a joy. It's been 8 months since a new Timber Life video so it was great to see your progress on the cabin build.
Holy cow, your little girl is now how old? I remember watching one of your canoe outings and when you revealed the two of you had a little one on the way. Just beautiful, time just goes so quick, I remember cutting the umbilical cord for our daughter back in 1994, now she is 29. How did all those years pass so quickly?
So amazing the setting of your cabin. Although I remember you saying it's only temporary in its placement but it's definitely beautiful where it's at. Great to see the whole family joining together at the build ..and love the shot where you and your daughter are near the creek..WOW..what a capture that was. Thank you for sharing once again..
Bonjour de France ,je viens de découvrir votre chaîne ,j’adore ,beaucoup de travail ,vous avez très mignonne petite princesse ❤️merci et bonne continuation
Very good, I look forward to watching your videos. The evolution of your project is spectacular... Too bad it takes a while for the videos to come out, but I know it's a very technical and artisanal job. Thanks.
The most important tools needed for construction by necessity: Tape measure, Level & square. . . lol However, a square is only needed if you don't know or understand the 3, 4, 5, method
In order to lift and move trees, you could pull a wire rope across 2 trees, and use a hoist mounted on a pulley to lift and then move the tree along the pulley. You would want the wire rope to be low to the ground to not bend the trees it is hung off of.
Seems like one bad storm with the wind going the wrong way. Suddenly that roof will become a sail. There is a reason you don’t see that style roof that steep.
Certainly a valid consideration especially in an open space or on the coast of open water but we are pretty insulated from the trees. We've already been through some serious wind storms bending the trees above and the cabin doesn't show any sign of it.
So glad to see a new video, and what a great update it turned out to be ! your attention to detail is so great to see and I love the fact that the wife is hands on helping where needed ! the little one is cute and you have the right to be so proud !!
I have a few cents for you, maybe will be useful...The leaning style is very popular due to its easiness of building, but you made it overly complicated. That being said, I like your detailed working habit. Another thing is the overall structure. The traditional roof style has its reason. Your structure's top is a little heavy.
I want to start a project like this, but don't want to do any permitting. Quite frankly I don't want the city to know there are any structures on the property. There are rules that say that you can build a 200sq ft cabin with no permits (I think). What if I put 2 200sq ft cabins next to each other back to back. Technically I'm not breaking any rules, and technically you can separate them...
I got a Question about the wood. Will there be a Problem when de Wood dries? I thought that wood shrink when its dries wont it bend or will it make any problems?
It’s true. Wood will change shape as it dries. These logs dried for about 4 years so they are getting close to settled but I may still get gaps. If so I can fill with chinking.
QUESTION: WHY NO PLUMBING? (Grey will feed the crops ) very minimum trade for electric; SOLAR PANELS? - - - I have been watching many of the Bushcrafters Build some unique cabins..... but, NOTICED..... No Modern Plumbing!! Plumbing in and of itself, is very easy... and.... cost literally nothing... especially when you're harvesting your the large majority of wood.. Over-All, LOVE YOU GUYS WORK
Здравствуйте. У вас очень красивая дочь, впрочем как и ваша семья в целом. Прежде всего ваша семья красивая внутри себя, а иначе мы не увидели бы такого хорошего контента на ютубе.
Is it me or don,t you supposed to let the wood cured at least couple of months or one year? That's what I heard with lumber makers every time I aske them, they told me couse the wood shrinks when is dryied so that is why you have to give some time to cared naturally,so when you make boards or lumber the wood is at least 90% dryied, may be some expert can help my toughts
Well there is whole books written on the subject. I can't possibly answer that loaded question in a responce but yes, logs do shrink in all types of ways and some more then others. You need to factor that into the design. But traditional log cabins and timber frame is built with green (wet) wood. These siding boards were felled back in 2019 and dried for a while before installing so they are pretty dry.
The quality of the video and cinematography is so good. From the boots to the build, this freaking awesome!
Thanks so much!
When I watch this. I don’t smell woods, I smell freedom.
Awesome Cinematography. I love the take right after the Nicks Promo (14:45) no crazy music , just the nature of birds singing. Awesome. Great Video man.
Much appreciated! Thank you.
Another great one to watch is Martijn Doolard. His videos and Italian Alps stone cabin restoration is sublime. Check it out.

And put stickers between the boards as they cure!

Do log cabins typically need the vertical posts or is that because of the specific design chosen?
Only because I wanted big windows.
what do you run your electric tools on I don't hear any generators running?
Your daughter is so adorable. I like that you waited for your wife.....
Good 🎉🎉🎉🎉
Công việc thật thú vị và ý nghĩa.mình tự làm những gì mình sử dụng.bạn có được môi trường sống thật tốt.
Great filming techniques.
Given that you are going to be taking it apart in the future, why did you use nails and not screw?
These are just 18 gage. The boards will bang out easy and I’ll just smash them down on the inside as they won’t be seen.

Roughly how many logs have you used so far building the cabin?
About 130 including boards but my logs are pretty skinny.
How much wood did you use so far?
She is a beauty.
hermosa cabaña saludos!!!🙂
