There was sad news in Japan yesterday. Atsuko Tanaka, the voice of Fram, had been battling illness for the past year, but her son, voice actor Hikaru Tanaka, announced that she passed away on the 20th, Japan time.
Atsuko, who has a unique voice, was active not only in anime, but also in dubbing many foreign films.
On a personal note, the most memorable voice of hers is Motoko Kusanagi (Major) from Ghost in the Shell.
