      Hi Jon. They are glass defects of the Cupola windows. After years in orbit, the glass is dirty, and it's damaged in one spot.

    Is this speed up or the actual speed of the ISS? 18,000-ish mph?

    • @astronauticast
      @astronauticast  5 месяцев назад +14

      Speed up.
      For example the second sequence covers a 10 minutes "real" timespan.
      So it's accelerated by ~3 times.

    I wanted to ask if they will reuse this booster but I guess it's going to most likely to a museum somewhere

    • @astronauticast
      @astronauticast  2 месяца назад

      Hi Jeff.
      This is not a view from a booster, but it is a timelapse made by pictures taken inside the ISS by astronauts.

      Certo che ci sono e si vedono molto bene!
      A parte le città grandi che sono evidentissime, guarda ad esempio la Puglia dove si nota benissimo il dedalo di centri abitati.

    One question… Why the clouds never moving? I think it’s a partial fake

    • @astronauticast
      @astronauticast  3 месяца назад +11

      Hi TousDesBananes,
      well it's all about speed and how far away things are.
      The clouds are definitely moving (zoom in real close, carefully analyze the images frame by frame, the movement is nearly imperceptible but you'll see it!).
      But the ISS is moving super fast (almost 8 km every second!), way faster than the clouds.
      Plus, think about how tiny everything looks from up here - one pixel is like a few kilometers! So even if something is moving, it's hard to notice.
