    I agree that you need to look at the 88 grain eldm and the 90 grain smk to see a real comparison

    Gravity is easier to compensate for than windage. And for prs 22cm is actually too fast to use. It could be backed down or load some 90gr smks to get the velocity down but i believe prs competitions are limited to 3200fps. Would have to double check that number though. Would be interesting to see the data for the 90gr though

      The 90gr ATips stomp the 6.5 Creedmoor but I wanted to use factory ammo. And that does slow it down. Thanks for watching and commenting

      @ReloadingQuest I've been interested in seeing what people can get out of it. Really want one but until it's a little more popular and ammo is available at big box stores I'm gonna hold off. Once it actually hits the open market I expect it to be very popular. Seems like horizon wants to hold it back to ensure they get their cut for the first year or whatever that contract states

      @@RockinRack yeah it’s a great round. It’s a Handloader dream. Very easy to load for! I just finished an article for Varmint Rifle magazine. Covering the 22 cm. Pretty impressive round for coyotes

    Most prs guys are running 6mm now. I wonder how it compares to a 6 dasher or a 6br, or even a gay tiger? Personally I would rather compensate for drop then wind but that might just be me.

    I don't shoot rifles much but if the 6.5 is at the same speed at 1,000yrds and you need to shoot past that, it should start to out perform the lighter bullet, since the 22 started out @600fps faster. If I were going to start reloading I would think the 22 would be cheaper to reload but the 6.5 isn't going anywhere yet. I hear that you can get 6GT factory ammo now, some of the guys I watch were trying .257 25creedmoor and haven't seen or heard about it so maybe that's a bad sign.

    • @ReloadingQuest

      Correct it will over take it longer range. But really both are not ideal past 1000 yards. There are better rounds for that. 25 cm would be an awesome ones. But really if you want more justice you need to go to a short mag or long action with more power and heavy high bc bullets. Thanks for watching and commenting!

    well you are over the allowable velocity for PRS>...3200...so all the data is irrelevant .....redo it with 3200 FPS

    • @ReloadingQuest
      @ReloadingQuest 2 месяца назад

      PRS is not the only comp ppl do. It be the last one I do. But my 18” 22cm is 3090 so it would work. And I never understood why you would limit velocity to me that makes zero sense. But that’s why’s I don’t do PRS it’s not even what it stands for. The is no precision in it lol but it’s still takes still to do it that’s for sure. I like the International Sniper Competition style more.

      @@ReloadingQuest no precision in PRS...interesting thought....if you think faster is better go see what the top shooters are shooting...NO ONE, NOT A single elite shooter is shooting a 22 cal in PRS matches.....in fact no one is shooting over 3000 fps....so there is that......with range finders and ballistic calculators getting your elevation is easy.....learning to read the wind, that is another story...a flat shooting rifle is NOT the key....you are also missing a huge issue and that is recovery time and at the ability of the human eye to capture....the slower you shoot the better you are able to see your misses and impacts and that is the key to success....

    • @Nightmarehc130
      @Nightmarehc130 2 месяца назад

      @@ReloadingQuest that is odd that you would say that...as many sniper departments are going to PRS schools and matches to learn to shoot better...

    • @ReloadingQuest

      @@Nightmarehc130 I don’t shot PRS so I won’t argue with you on this. But like I said there is more than PRS and if you want to shoot a coyote at 700 yards and don’t have time to dial, it is flat shooting that works. Ppl really on dial scopes to much these days in my opinion. Spend time learning to read the wind and hold for what you need and send it. But like I said PRS does not interest me so not what my goal is. But the 90gr Atip in 22cm would be slower around 2900-3000 and high bc of .585 and stomps most calibers in drop and wind drift. Last I will say about it. Good for you getting out there doing what you like and good for you shooting a 6mm. There’s great calibers as well.

    go shoot a plate at 400 yards with a bullet going 3200 fps and tell me where you hit on the plate....good luck with that....
