Thanks Laurie...I think even if I didn't sew I'd find something else to store in my boxes. I think that was part of the appeal for me...what little items I could stash away in them. I even use one for my stationary supplies. Hugs, Suzette
Thank you for sharing your wonderful storage pieces. I just returned to cross stitch this year and found Floss Tube and your FTVideos. I’m watching my way through your videos. Thank you for your kindness in sharing your stitching.
Really enjoy all your video's. I love to see your work but really anything you want to show. Everything is so interesting, you make good use of your collections. We lived in England in 60's, jumble sales and auctions were so much fun. Visited Belgium ,Netherlands,Germany then also. The furniture and other things we see in your home are just gorgeous. I always have to look around my own house and see what new purpose I could find for storage etc. Thank you, hugs.
Thanks for stopping by for a visit Lana and for your kinds comments. I was in thrifting/auction heaven while living in Germany. They put us to shame in reduce, reuse, recycle. They had a couple days a year called junking day where you put your unwanted items out on the curb. Whatever was left after a few days then went to be recycled. I found all sorts of goodies on those days (including some fantastic furniture). I'm always looking for alternative uses for things too. Happy stitching, Suzette
I'm so happy that you enjoyed my video. Good luck in your thrifting adventure...they really are a neat way to store little bits. Happy stitching, Suzette x
Loved seeing your steamer trunk and the sewing boxes. Great idea for the fabric in the little bins. I have my fabric mostly together in a drawer for the smaller pieces and a garment storage bag that is breathable for the large pieces. The fabric in the drawer has to come out of the plastic they came in. Looking forward to your next video. Happy Stitching
Thanks Cindy...isn't it nice to be able to find the perfect fabric for a project quickly! That's my favorite part of it anyway...and well, it looks pretty! Happy Stitching, Suzette x
Thanks for taking the time to show how you organize. I would rather buy from an antique shop or garage sale than new, and probably have overlooked those great storage boxes. I'll be looking for them now. I rarely buy anything new other than clothing or groceries! I'm like you in that I cannot function if not organized. I have several antique baskets all over the house with with my things, and it kind of works. They are more fragile and I have to be careful with them. Love your stitching, primitive friend!
Thanks so much for another visit to my channel and for your sweet comments. I love baskets too! I can't imagine not being organized...I'd be spending all of my time hunting things down! Hope you are having a great stitching month! Suzette x
Love your video thank you so much for sharing. Love your sewing boxes i found one at thrift store years ago but they wanted more then I could afford at the time. Happy stitching hugs Patty BC Canada
Thanks for your kind comments Patty. I've been very lucky to find some at thrift stores...usually when I've given up looking, then all of a sudden, there one sits. So don't give up hope on finding one at the right price. Stitchy hugs to you! Suzette x
It was wonderful to see your storage, it's so funny as I was downsizing my sewing boxes this week and other stitchy items. I passed them on to some of the wonderful girls on here knowing they would be grateful of them. Love your videos look forward to seeing you again soon happy stitching Xx maureen
Thanks so much Maureen for your kind comments! I watch your videos and so want to be you. I've been tempted to try being a minimalist ...it's very appealing at times...but when I think about it too long I start to get heart palpitations! Lol Maybe someday...a girl can dream, right!! Hope all is well in your stitching world! Suzette x
Oh! Suzette you have a beautiful home stay as you are, I would like to be like you and the girls but my head wont let me it's so strange, it's always been a way of living for me, so I too can only dream ;0)) Happy stitching sweetie Xx
I love your sewing boxes - I have a similar one that my mom gave me - it was new so not antique at the time - dare say it's getting very close to being one now. Really enjoyed the video. Hugs,
Thanks for sharing your storage ideas! I have my grandmothers steamer trunk minus the drawer that sat on the top inside and it stores my fabric and some sewing fabric as well. It's no where near as organized as yours though. I love little tins and pretty boxes to store floss and embroidery supplies. I would love a cabinet just like the one behind and beside you to store everything in. It's a gorgeous piece of furniture! My mother had two French blue cabinets that I was supposed to have one of but I'd rather not have a fight with my sister to get it so sadly I won't have it. You have some lovely things and the sewing boxes are such a treasure! Happy stitching🙋🏼🤗🇨🇦
Thanks so much for your kind comments jillipepper! I do treasure my sewing boxes and other pieces and feel very fortunate to have found them all. It's nice to know that I'm not the only one that falls in love with every little tin I see! Hope all is well in your stitching world! Suzette x
Loved your video and your boxes! Will be on the lookout ... I am fascinated by the history of them all and wonder who owned them originally and what they stitched. I have just started punch needle so was interested to see you do it too. Happy stitching. Liz x
Thanks for stopping by my channel Liz! I'm like you and wonder about previous owners of the boxes...if only they could talk...bet they would have some good stitching stories! Happy stitching, Suzette
Thanks for sharing a glimpse of the contents of your sewing boxes and trunk. I too must have organization. I like knowing just where to find what I need. Great video. Happy Stitching!
Thanks so much for stopping by my channel for a visit! I agree, it's so nice to be able to find what you are looking for quickly. There are times of the year that my stitching time is very limited and I don't want to waste that time hunting something down. Hope all is well in your stitching world! Suzette x
Thank you for sharing these tips with us. I always look forward to your videos. I have always liked primitive pictures, but have not ever stitched any of them. Since I have been watching your videos, my wish list is growing. I guess my taste seems to be going towards the primitive style more and more.
What wonderful boxes to hold your treasures! Thank you so much for sharing it all with us. Perfectly organized and wonderful. I'm really jealous, but in a really good way!
Thanks so much Vonna!! I think I need a sewing box intervention!! LOL But there are so many ways to use them (that's my story and I'm sticking to it). Hope all is well in your stitchy world. Suzette x
Hi Suzette! Lovely sewing boxes! I just wondering if you might like to show us your craft room? :) It is AMAZING!!! :))) And thank you for your videos! I always enjoying watching them!

Great ideas for storing stitch stuff. I enjoyed the tour. All those sewing boxes, very nice. I used to be very organized but somehow lost the ability or have so many different hobbies and all the stuff accumulated over the years. I'd like to ask what dept of Walmart did you find the bins used to store your fabric? I could find multi uses for those items.

Hi Karen, Mary and Emma are correct, they are flower arranging frogs. I got most of mine in England but I've found them in various thrift stores or antique shops too. Thanks for watching, Suzette x
Those are beautiful sewing boxes. Great organization. I'm curious- after keeping those fabrics folded did you notice any discoloration or week spots in the folding lines? BTW, that's fun collection of scissors! keep on stitching! Jurgita
Hi Jurgita, thanks for stopping by for a visit. I haven't had any trouble with discoloration or weak spots. The fabric is protected from the sun. Because I'm frequently in the fabric looking and unfolding for my next projects, that solves the problem of weak spots. If you store any type of fabric for long periods though it is a good idea to refold so you don't have those issues. Hope this helps. Suzette x
I've seen some people showing their hand-dyed fabrics that were 'worn out' and discolored on the folding lines... I try to hang them up on a hanger and that way can see all the colors and sizes quickly:) But if I start to keep them folded- definitely will try to refold as you said. Keep on stitching! Jurgita
Love your video’s, i just discovered them, I will be watching all of them! What is the name of your black containers you store your fabric in, and what section at Wal Mart can I find them, again thanks!
Hi Ronnie and thanks for stopping by for a visit. The first ones I purchased were by MainStays but now I can only find them by Better Homes and Gardens. They are called Half-Size Fabric Storage Bins. The MainStays had 2 per pack and were around $5. The BHG are the same price but only one per package. I have 3 Wal Marts in my area and they all seem to move them around the store. I've found them in the furniture area as well as near the ironing board and closet items area. I hope this helps! Suzette x
Enjoyed your video ( as usual). I have a question though about your sewing boxes. Have you purchased any with cigarette smoke smell? I have one from my grandmother, but haven't used it since it smells like cigarettes and I don't know how to get the smell out of it. So I was wondering if you've come across that in your collecting and if you have any tips as to get rid of the smell? Thank you again!
Hi Carol, thanks for watching! I haven't encounter that issue with my sewing boxes but I have with some books. What I did with those was put them in an air tight bag along with some plain charcoal briquettes. I left them for a week or so before switching them out for fresh ones. It took a good month to finally get the smell out. Not sure if this will work with wood items but may be worth a try. Of course the other option would be to refinish the sewing box and put a sealer on. That's a bit more labor intensive but I'm sure the problem would be solved. Good luck. Happy stitching, Suzette x

Oh my gosh, I love your sewing boxes! It's easy to see why collecting them became an obsession after the first one that your husband bought for you. I might have to go on a mission to find one of those now when I go antiquing this summer! 😄 I love how they open up into the compartments; they're each like a treasure chest full of all kinds of stitchy goodies. 😃 Thanks for sharing this, & hope you've been enjoying your spring break! 😊

What a great video! I learned several things so thank you. I just bought two frogs this week and was wondering what to do with the smaller one. Thanks Marlene for stopping by for a visit and for always leaving such sweet comments! Keep looking for those boxes, you never know where they will show up! Hugs, Suzette
The small ones you got at the Goodwill and somewhere in Europe look like the Romanian examples I've seen. I have a large one made by Singer in the Philippines that is also quite well made.

I used to be very organized but somehow lost the ability or have so many different hobbies and all the stuff accumulated over the years. Thanks for stopping by my channel for a visit Joan. At my local walmart the bins are near the ironing boards. They come all folded up in a flat clear package so you might not spot them right away. I think they come in 2 or 3 different colors as well. Happy stitching, Suzette x
THANK YOU for sharing these wonderful storage tips...I always love to watch your videos! What is the scissor holder called?
HAPPY STITCHING!!
Karen Davis-Macon, the scissor organizer is used for flower arranging, you should be able to find one in a craft store or a flower store.
Karen Davis-Macon they are called flower frogs.
Hi Karen, Mary and Emma are correct, they are flower arranging frogs. I got most of mine in England but I've found them in various thrift stores or antique shops too. Thanks for watching, Suzette x

Lol Glenn! I did think about that too! Better to know where they are so I can keep them away from my stitching! Happy Stitching, Suzette x
I love watching your videos, but the audio is not consistent.
