So we put Aluminum Phosphate in our food. The same stuff used to kill insects. Great!

It is Aluminium PhosPHIDE, not PhosPHATE.
A bit like Sodium chlorate is a deadly weedkiller and yet sodium chloRIDE is just normal table salt.
I really hope you don't get a job with anything that depends on such accuracy.....lol
+robert dress No we don';t. We put GAS, phosphine gas. Then remove the gas and after it's removed there is NOTHING in the food. Any residual phosphine breaks down 2 days after.

The process which you refer to is exactly that, a PROCESS.
When something is processed it undergoes treatment by which an 'alteration' is induced.
For instance, bacteriological elimination.
So, in 'layman terms'....., nothing 'went in'.
It was processed.
Exposure to radiation may well be described in a similar manner, resulting in an 'irradiated product' whose background radioactive source level(s) will diminish, quickly leaving whatever it was....processed, (or in that EXTREME example.....irradiated) ! :)
You are attempting, (and failing at), a 'play on words'.
However, please don't think I'm being negative, I'd like to think I've clarified a common misconception :)

I'm sorry you just don't understand chemistry. Anyone who knows anything about PH3 knows 1) it's a gas like methane 2) it's a polar bond 3) it's an unstable bond 4) there's no carbon 5) it's not carcinogenic 6) it breaks down quickly into harmless byproducts 7) it's used in such low amounts that the gas quickly disperses, goes outside then is oxidized by oxygen into water and extremely low amounts of phosphoric acid.
Our bodies are made of the exact byproducts that PH3 breaks down into. It is safe. There's nothing complex about it. If you wanna worry about things worry about organic pesticides or radiation.... don't worry about phosphine unless you're traveling to Thailand because they pump hotel rooms full of this gas and in that respect the way it's used (with no ventilation) that's the only way this gas has EVER accidentally killed anyone.
