@Romanes eunt domus I am not sure what you are trying to accomplish, but a vast majority of Americans have relatively simple finances. A couple W2, maybe a few credits from student loan interest or the like. There is no need to hire an accountant - you can do the paperwork on your own and not spend money. Then you can spend money on internet service so your snarky kid can go on RUclips and make rude comments that seem like they want to drip in condescending humor but really just fall flat.
@@hillsonn Right, this was in '95. So there were no internet tax programs, and it was always advisable to get a professional to do them as deductions and such were more complex to figure out. It isn't like today where an online program holds your hand and walks you through everything. It was substantially more complex until online tax preparation was common place. No matter how simple your taxes are, calculating everything, not messing up capital gains or finical stuff like that was more complex.
Is this real? Did people really used to just flood the post office and do taxes on the floor on the last day? Was it only in NYC or in all cities, or even smaller towns? This doesn't still happen, does it? Why don't they do it at home and put it in the mailbox? Why does it help to be on the floor of the USPS? I just dont understand so much of why people are doing this.
