Sir syed Ahmed khan initiated the idea of Muslims to stop siding with the Hindus.
Bengal got separated in 1905.
Hindus started to oppose the partition.
Muslims realized what sir syed Ahmed khan was saying.
Sir syed Ahmed saw Congress as a Hindu party.
1906 Dhaka Muslims started to discuss the idea of a separate organizations for them.
This was all during the Muhammadan conference which was also started by SSAK.

Great to know about the history of the Muslim League. Funny, how they fell for the divide and rule tactic of the British and started appreciating the British as a counter to the Congress - which was considered a Hindu-favoring party!!! Very interesting!
well if you see there were far more hindus in congress than muslims...and the muslim leaders were in less numbers then they should be and after war of independence muslims got the punishment and they were killed even though hindus were also in that war but because of bahadur shah zafar as the leading face all the blame came on muslims so it was natural for them to become cautious for their rights

Very helpful video, thanks for this. But would like say something, which maybe I shouldn't. At the end of the day Muslim league was the real reason why Sir Syed Ahmed was of the view that muslims should not get involved in politics. He very well knew that ones politics comes in people slowly forget it is more for the people and less for personal gains. He knew it would create divisions. They took all the teachings from the man and forgot his most important thought of not getting into politics.

I see that you’ve left out a number of important points. What about the British encouragement for a separate Muslim electorate? And Morley-Minto Reforms? And the fact that there were equal number of Muslims supporting the British government? How about providing a little background of the communal riots and the increasing alienation of Muslims from politics and education?
P.S.- History and story telling are entirely two different things. You’ve got to be careful with the former as it is of great responsibility. You know what you gotta do?

His funeral was recited once by the Twelver Shia Imam and once by Allama Shabbir Usmani, and today in Pakistan these three masaliks (Agha Khans, Qadiyans and Shias) are considered to be members of the Ahl-e-Sunnah Jamaat in Pakistan (to be a typical Pakistani). This is true that Muslims were happy with the partition of Bengal but Even Muslims knew that the step was taken not for Muslims interest ,it was divided by Lord curzon for effective administration . and Muslims didn't think that the British was their own , no . All of us know why Hindus protest and create agitation on partition of Bengal ,because their was Hindus economic interest which they got from Calcutta (capital of Bengal before partition) and secondly , their existence was in danger as Muslims also got a chance to come forward . i will clear my point by telling you that there was not only Bengal where Muslims exist , Muslims were all around the sub-Continent and the partition was only in the favour of Bengal 's Muslims not whole community of Muslims .

Syed Ahmed is hailed as a Muslim social reformer who promoted communal harmony and peaceful coexistence of all communities in India. In an undivided India under the British rule, he was worried about Muslim backwardness and unwillingness to adopt modern education.
