Crazy, i Follow since the „Backpack“ with old sneakers. Its crazy how far away this is and how much your Evolution Happen. Then the van After that, the boat. You are a big Inspiration . Thank you 🙏🏻🍀
Perhaps the motoring folk haven’t gone through the same process that you have, which takes going through the experiences. You’re experiences have evolved your world/life view, to slow it down, connect with nature. When I sailed I noted a significant difference in how connected I felt to the ocean, the wind and various other elements under wind power vs. engine power. One seems more expansive than the other.
I'm sure the charter holiday people enjoy their time and the social life between the crews and the confidence they get in a flotilla but not in the way you describe the satisfaction of getting yourself from a to b. They do miss out on the sailing.
Just discovered you sailing channel. Enjoying it. Two questions: 1) why didn't you have a diver clean you bottom after the boat was in a slip, un-used, for 6 months and 2) what are the two bag lashed to the shrouds?
Some of the Charters may be traveling with a skeleton crew if they’re not on charter, that being said I worked on one and the only time they sailed was when or if the customers “asked” to sail....so it actually seemed like the sails were there for “photo ops”. (It was easier to cook and serve them motoring and they only want to “be seen”🤣 anyway...)
Yes, do that. Aghios Petros on the south is beautiful, there's a tiny bay on the east side where you can anchor and walk a few minutes to the monastery and on the north side there is Planitis, a huge bay, safe anchorage, with a very narrow entrance. It looks (and probably has been in the past) like a pirates refuge.

Love the musings while watching the sailing action shots

Thanks! 1: I ended up diving on it and cleaning it myself. 2: Those are Oru Kayaks.

I find it stupid to have a sailboat and do not use the sails! If you are in a hurry, take a plane!
go to kyra panagia while you are in the sporades !!!
