- This is the final round of lead climbing at national championship in Slovenia, on 13.5.2023 at Plus Climbing in Koper.
Janja did top up both at semi final and final round.

😯😯 That's just insane: on the last step the weight of the entire crossing was concentrated and still she jumps as if it were nothing, as if there was no chance of failure.
I think it's that self-confidence that takes them so far

That rapid movement in and out of the toe hook about 3/4 of the way up was technically supreme.

As far as I know, there were no professional cameraman. If you check my channel, I uploaded Janja's semi-final climb, Luka Potočar final and semifinal climb, Mia Krampl semi-final climb and Lučka Rakovec final climb... I will also uppload Mia Krampl final climb, but first minute of her climb is camera on Domen Škofic... I hope that wont bother you

Do you know what grade is it ?
Competition routes don't usually have a grade as it's just a temporary setup specific to that one tournament. You can make a guess but it's different than a set route that's been around a long time.
Does anyone know the grade of this route? This looks intense!
If I'm not mistaken sport comp routes are generally set to around 13a/b
@@gregorycooper4890 From what I've heard, a decent bit harder than that, at least at World Cup. You often hear 8c to 8c+ thrown around for the men, so maybe 8b+ to 8c for the women. That would put it more around 14a to 14b if I'm reading the grade conversion charts correctly.
Is there reason she's always clipping above her head. Seems from video that route setting make it possible to clip from hips height at any point.
This is just my guess, but since she was basically on cruise control for the whole route, it's less risky (even if it wastes energy) to make the clips early, rather than climb higher onto potentially worse holds.
he broke her toe a few months ago and maybe she wants to avoid a fall?
Janja is a true pro not to be put off by that annoying loud commentator and terrible music!
Dont worry, was not that loud 😁 after all its a sport event and this type of commentary is pumping up the competitors + crowd… its a little bit difficult, since you dont understand slovenian language and it looks weird…
But believe me, at the end of the event I was so pumped that I wanted to go climb 😅

This was not took with official camera that they use for events... at the end is better to watch a climb with entry level camera than not having a video of climb :)

Fire that DJ. I almost feel like they are mixing the tracks so badly on purpose to mess up janja. Almost.. Its just really bad.
Maybe when you look now on the video, but in live the event was really nicely organized and the music was really good. Camera makes music really noisy 😁
