Life of a butterfly is only around 15 days. She cut it short to 5.
It depends on the butterfly. Monarchs *live for several months, making a one way, 3000+ mile trip in that time.

@@SusieQ3actually it depends on the bunch it hatches with. Some have a very short life while some like you said, live long enough to migrate.

A butterfly's wings grow back on their own when a butterfly's wings are torn and shouldn't only add to their suffering. Also, glue and paper are too heavy for a butterfly.
I've never known a butterfly to be able to regenerate it's wings??
@@littlelagoons It heals later if it's not that injured
This is simply not true.
Butterflies don't live long enough for all that. Once in that form, the only goal is to reproduce, and they don't get a lot of time for that. If they get injured in the meantime, well, their genes won't be part of the next generation.

What makes this even worse is the fact she glued it on the back wing, not the front. The back is only meant for flight control, so she essentially put the heavy fake on the weakest wing.
The butterfly can't fly because in its wings there lies a connecting network of veins like jugular vein and others which coordinate and provide necessary support for flight

This is silly and untrue. If this was true no butterfly would be able to fly. And even if they could at first, theyd stop being able to the first time they touched anything.
We had a monarch before that unfortunately hatched with a deformed wing. PLEASE DO NOT TRY THIS!
Unless you have surgeon hands and KNOW what materials to use, DO NOT DO THIS! You will hurt the butterfly more and cause it pain. The best thing you could do is keep it as a pet to give it a longer life, let it outside to maybe interact with and pair with the other butterflies.
The correct way to repair their wings is to use another butterfly wing or down feather as substitute (regular feathers like that with the spine in the middle are far too heavy), and the TINIEST BIT OF GLUE
Like, only 2 tiny droplets of glue where the prosthetic wing will connect to the real wing. You cannot just directly layer in on the deformed/broken wing.

I get the feeling they saw that story also and tried to recreate it in this video… my only question is how they coincidentally found a bug injured in the exact same way? I’ll just say I wouldn’t be surprised if they’re the ones who did this
Hi there! I breed monarch butterflies, and volunteered with my country's monarch tagging program.
Even the piece from The Dodo was met with a lot of concern from the butterfly community, because the butterfly involved appeared to have a disease called Ophryocystis elektroscirrha, or OE. OE can be spread by infected butterflies dropping spores on milkweed. It causes wing deformities, and makes infected butterflies weak. Humane euthanasia is the best option. Encouraging untrained people to do wing transplants could cause a lot more spread of diseases like OE.
Wing transplants ARE a thing in the butterfly community, but they are done a. with a real donor wing, and b. only with butterflies that are healthy and young.

@@what6298yeah the comment was sarcasm. This video is sad
@@what6298how do we know it was cut off before the video? That's horrible!
She didn’t cut it u can tell it was damaged on its own. Maybe even wet. Either way she tortured this poor thing. And shortened its life
After she realizes they only live 2 weeks:
It took her two weeks to make the prosthetic
They bearly live for 1 day

Not even a little bit true. This is common practice on how to fix butterfly wings…
If you dont know better always leave animals alone, nature will provide 😉
damn, it’s really convenient that she just so happen to have the camera set up on multiple angles already recording, and have all of the supplies already on hand that she needed at the time of the rescue🙌🏼
What? The recusing here is restoring it's wing. The rescuing it from immediate danger happened off camera...
@tramarthomas6105 I think we are suspicious that this person cut the bitterfly's wing for content. They are copying other similar videos but did such a poor job. The amount of glue used was enough to keep the poor thing from being able to fly ever.
@@edilonofrishloo我想的跟你一样
The fake wing she put on first is different from the last one I think she ripped it off and did it again
@@misspollysdolly take two🤪✌🏼💕
This is why you should never skip Biology classes!
It’s impressive. How prepared you were to fix the butterflies broken wing. I hope you didn’t break it just to make a video.
Thats what im always thinking, when i see animal rescue videos. :( i wish we lived in a world, where u didn't have to think so.
It's more impressive how prepared she was to make the butterflie incapable of flying ever again with the heavy new wing it got
Lol sad but I was thinking the EXACT SAME THING
She 10000% did
They did, sadly. I saw the whole video on facebook the other day. They set it up like it got shut in a window by accident, which miraculously damaged just one of its wings, so she took scissors and cut the damaged part off herself to do this. 100% set up.
Guys there’s nothing wrong Atleast she tried you guys can only watch & Judge in real life you guys don’t even know how much times you have killed insects
now you can get him a a plane ticket for wherever he's going because that's all the flying he's going to do
The truth is that this was not a rescue, it was just giving the poor butterfly more suffering. By the way, I'm from Mexico.
The "wing" she made for that butterfly
Weighed more than the whole rest of
The butterfly !!!! 😢
You litterally just stole someones comment..
Why steal someones comment which is right under urs
Yall in the comments are assuming the worst while knowing nothing about the subject. Look at other butterfly repair videos, this technique works and is worth it. Most butterfly species live between 2 and 4 weeks, but some species can live close to a whole year, so improving their quality of life and ability to survive is very much worth the time. And no, butterflies cannot grow their wings back. If they are damaged or lost, they are gone for good. Unless a kindhearted person takes the time to repair their wing with something light, like this feather.
I've seen someone do this but use "taxidermy" butterflies so that the wings still have the normal pattern from nature to help aid survival. But in their case, the butterfly could actually still fly and was fine.
That wing felt like a burden to that poor little creature
Just needs about three weeks of physio 😅
She glued a wingcuff on and threw it in a jail cell. 💀
😂
@@mavispatrick3266 it's not funny...
@@galaxyzrblxit's true though.
@@shard8285 wait what do you mean it's true im confused right now
@@galaxyzrblx I think it's pretty funny, the best intentions but horrible execution lmao
Poor thing would have been better off with its damaged wing. Super glue does not repair an insects broken or missing appendages just as you wouldn’t try to superglue a wooden peg to a dog with only 3 legs. Just think, use your brain, think it through guys.
Have a great day everyone!
Lady in this video, no more glue for you my friend.
Amazing how she had all the materials and skills required to save a butterfly with a torn wing, and a butterfly with a torn wing just happened to be there at that exact moment...
😮
Né menina!
😮😮😮😮
Doesnt even have the skills just the camera and youtube certified knowledge on how to "save" a butterfly 🤣
Bem pensado!
Amazing how she had the camera, all the stuff and content idea ready when she randomly gets a butterfly with a lost wing
She caged butterfly for content creation that is nasty
Content creators 😂😂
Some of these creators capture and rip the wings off only to give them a shitty replacement. Its really sadistic
Point...
Yeah, but she doesn't show it flying or actually using its wing.
Girl just said to that butterfly no more flying and acted like the sugar syrup was going to help him fly
