- This is demo, number one off of The Goldman Sessions, recorded by Matt Goldman in 2004.
This song was originally going to be titled "Look Past the Bright Lights" when Dallas Taylor was still the band's lead vocalist, but was later changed to "Reinventing Your Exit" when Spencer Chamberlain replaced him in the band. This song is off of "They're Only Chasing Safety".
dude this song played on a paintball game i used to play on PS2 and i always thought it was so cool. cause underoath made it into a video game. how awsome.
one time i heard Neck Deep play right before a commercial break during an NFL game and it blew my mind. they did knuckle puck too
Greg Hastings Tournament Paintball. I loved the music in that game.
They did It in Flatout 2 to.
this is Spencer. the lyrics were different on LPTBL. "up against the wall" was added to RYE
Look past the bright lights!
The keys are cool in this
The vocals are crazy good on this🔥
Awesome!! Changing of times is my favorite Underoath album no wonder why this song was always my favorite off of chasing safety
I love this song.*-*
hearing the keys more in the chorus is cool. i like it better aaron would agree. he liked the demos better
i came here becasuse of flatout 2 two years ago, and now im comin back ...
Raw Music is really the best... specially for UnderOath...
The demo version of a song is like the experimental version before the official album is released.
It's so weirddd!! This version sounds nothing like the actual song they put on cd.. but thanks I LOVE hearing all different underoath songs!! The way Aaron's voice sounds in this song reminds me of his voice in their song "wrapped around your finger"
Lots of vocalists sound different when it’s single tracked, with no pitch correction, once you hear the lines that are double tracked it sounds more like the aaron you recognize because it smooths out his voice, then pitched it gets that perfect sound, eventually giving your voice a unique sound than before, for Aaron it made his voice sound incredible. They did an amazing job on his vocals for TOCS
The Dallas version was going to be called Heatherwood I believe
it's spencer. i'm pretty sure this was recorded at the same time as the demos/bonus tracks on the special edition of they're only chasing safety. there is a version of this song with dallas (look past the bright lights), but there are only live videos of it. it may have been demoed/recorded but it was never released. structurally it's pretty much the same as the final song, just a bit shorter and the lyrics are different.
Kiernan Morris a recorded version has surfaces
1:01 that echo though. They should've kept it
You hear the keyboards more during the chorus, the guitars have more of a kick, butt the production and mixing is better in the final version. Pros and cons. Wish there was a version combining the best of both versions
yeeeaah :))
from that simple game on, I klove this song and this band *-*
badass

So this is or isn't Dallas on vox? If it is Dallas, Spencer did a great job of imitating his vocal style.
Never mind haha
lol how? its the same exact song but with worse quality
SoDeep
epic version...
I love demo version's of songs
the one thing I do agree that its better is Spencer's scream sounds more full on this version.
lol bo burnham is in the suggestions
Better than the original by far.
Is this Spencer or Dallas?
Spencer
lolwtf is this the real demo of this is Look past the bright lights.
do you have there demo cd
where can i get this at
Love those keys
what means demo??
I’m eight years late but it is the first take and original mix of a song or it’s a recording to send singers and producers
"demonstration". Typically an unpolished version of a song to demonstrate the artist's vision
if anyone has this cd ill buy it off of u
I have it

God damn I love this version's vocal tracks.
there’s prob a demo version of every song on TOCS.
you can tell the band (together with Goldman) worked real hard at developing this accessible rock-oriented post-hardcore sound through lots of demo’ing.
