Funny of you to put the image of anderson holding Rogers hand, didnt you want to include the part where rogers was grabbing a chunk of Anderson's collar, stopping him from defending?
If you can find that picture please post it. Good luck with that. When you have the ball at your feet and you're dribbling past someone you don't grab onto someone. That's what you do when you've been beaten. A draw or a forest win I can accept but the consistency of decision making is terrible. So sorry no pen. Just look at the whole passage and sensibly I think you will agree.
We haven't got enough pace in the side. Modern football you need pace all over the pitch, speed kills. Midfield transitional play needs to be quicker and we need a pact winger or wing back
After our goal we just seemed happy to soak up the pressure, could sense a goal coming. Martinez's save should've been a wake up call for them but we still just sat back. Nope, not a penalty. If that had been given it would have been unfair. The Villa player had already fouled the Forest player to get ahead of them with the ball in the first place.

Ok so peno Rogers but was Roger’s not fowling before it??? If we are 1-0 up with 10mins to go. We need to be seeing these type of results out… but we are Villa and unfortunately this is what we do.., ( don’t get me wrong Emery is fantastic but Villa…. Mental weakness never leaves us!!!) UTV Luke 💪💪
It was unfortunate Mings was taken I’ll during the warm up he’s the only one who talks & organises people he’s been a Massive lose for Villa let’s hope he’s fit for Saturday. 👏
Not surprised we lost today. Our results have been tragic against the teams around us since January. We've lost to Newcastle, Arsenal, Tottenham Twice, Chelsea Twice (FA cup and prem), Man U, Brighton, Liverpool, Man city now Forest. All we have to show for is a win at the Emirates. If you add on the battering against Palace, our two losses against Olympiacos and recently failing to beat the 'lesser' teams, it's going to be hard to get into Europe next season unless we start beating these teams again. Got to win 2 out of the next 3 to prove we can compete again!
I think you are right. Against the teams around us, we have been really, really poor for about a year. The Chelsea game a few weeks ago was shocking. Today was pathetic. Last season, we let 8 goals in 2 games against Newcastle. I'm not impressed. Emery can't organise a defense consistently to save his life. It's very much a Jose Mourinho factor. A good 2 years followed by a complete collapse. In his defence though, we still have several players that are championship level in our side. We need to revamp the squad.
We were too narrow. That's the downside of playing 3 at the back. But we have to control games better. Forest deserved it in the end despite a wonder save from Martinez and another great Duran goal. Also, a fleeting grab? Who's on VAR Gregg Wallace? That was more than a fleeting grab. Honestly how can you look at that, give yourself a few seconds to think about it, and STILL not see a penalty. I saw it straight away, live in the game. Stonewall.
Absolutely woeful defensively yet again!! Didn’t learn our lesson after the disallowed goal and got what we deserved. Thought the officials and VAR had a shocker today, Rogers should’ve had a penalty and how it’s not a foul on Cash for the Forest winner I don’t know. We won’t achieve anything this season unless we learn how to see games out. We’ve thrown away 3 points today!!
I'm absolutely sick and tired of the horrible officiating put against us in both the Premier League and the Champions League. Constant horrendous decisions going against us costing us points. But yet, I still come away from the game thinking we were second best by a significant margin. Defence completely folded from the moment we scored the first goal.
Yeah it should of been a pen but you couldn't argue if the foul went against Rogers for the shirt pull before it. The ref was so poor yet again, but after our goal Forest came alive, only looked like the team to go on and win. Watkins did nothing after coming on, tbh all the subs had little effect
Second goal Cash went down twice looking for a free kick instead of getting rid of the ball. We had opportunities to clear that and just messed about with it.
Snatching defeat from the jaws of Victory. Forest wanted it more in that 2nd half so fair play. Referring was shocking but not an excuse. We didn’t create enough clear cut chances to put this game to bed. We defended at the end like we expected to win, always a dangerous attitude. Let’s dust ourselves off and go again next week. Stay strong Villa fans. UTV!
The trouble with playing this system is that there is a distinct lack of flair. Digne and Cash will rarely beat players one-on-one. We are relying on Rogers heavily to open up defences. We are in need of a player with pace who can compete with Bailey. Shame Mings was ill
We are the only team in the top 13 with negative goal difference. We are all sick of saying it we need to sort our defence. Konsa is not a right back , I’d love to see kosta get a few games there but that’s asking too much as he won’t even give Duran a full game. CB pairing needs to be figured out. Fair play to Forest better game plan deserved the win . Great to see them getting back into top four again , tough feat once you drop out, pity it’s at Villas expense though.UTV
Too easy to play against and it is not just at the back it is in midfield there isn't anyone with that nastiness in the middle and we need it. I'm all for free flowing attacking football but I would happily sacrifice that to be harder to play against. There is nothing wrong with pragmatism we will get a lot more points. If the defense and style isn't address we will struggle to finish midtable trust me on that the silly mistakes have got to stop it is getting tiresome.
@Charlie0106 Yes,in fairness mate his injury very bad a career ender so he probably still isnt 100 per match sharp. Although we can be encouraged with what we have seen.
I’m confused as to what a foul is this season, for me it’s a pen and their second goal a foul on cash. Then when we go one up we take the mids off? Why not sacrifice Rodger’s and shut up shop. No need to take Duran off. Go five at the back four in midfield, take the points.
Same as Ipswich we are just keeping the ball keep going back to the keeper all the time play forward go for the 2nd goal defence not strong enough to defend lead so stay on the front foot unless defence improves it’s going to be 2 step forward 1 step back
Great game..the penalty wasn't given as the villa player grabbed Anderson shirt on the neck before Anderson grabbed his arm in response ...proper game though..both teams were going at it ..all the best to you for the rest of the season
First half was awful for the neutral, but from our perspective I think good. We were tight, dictated it for the most part. Forest were happy to sit back, not press and wait. The game was playing into our hands somewhat and then Duran does what Duran does best. Then they upped the pace and we didn't cope well enough. We wasted good possession around their box. One thing that disappointed me. First half their right back struggled to contain Digne. I'd have pushed Rogers wide left to double up. Think we'd have got joy. Here's my biggest bugbear. This is the best villa team I've known since Little's 4th spot team. Easily. No contest. But we are the absolute worst villa side, and currently one of the worst in the division for falling down softly and hoping for a free kick. We do not play to the whistle. So often players just drop and surrounding players stop waiting for a whistle that doesn't come. PLAY TO THE WHISTLE. The ref let 1-2 go up the top end of the pitch before their winner, and just before that final cross in, Cash goes down. I do think that probably was a foul BUT...PLAY TO THE FKN whistle! Konsa or whoever's there with him, push tight. If needs be, give away a freekick, a corner. Get tight! Don't pull the brakes and wait for the ref. Ironically Bailey, who is one of the guiltiest for this, wasn't playing today. Seriously, I can't be the only one who notices. It's persistent, every game and has been increasingly used as an ineffective tactic since Unai came in. But what I suspect happens, is that a couple of the rule tweaks don't favour trying it AND you get a reputation. To the extent that in all likelihood those margin calls like the Rogers pen (again...if he stays on his feet and gets the cross away, maybe we score) went against us. I can't stand it. I'm frustrated we didn't manage the game better, but for all that ref baiting, which mostly got ignored, I think we deserved that defeat. Whether it's a point that gets raised in the analysis and looked at, I don't know.
Very frustrating. Our substitutions lowered our 'know how'. For that tight battle of a match. The game happened to the subs. A real shame there was no Mings today. We're crying out for a strong central defender. Rest up and go again. UTV
For the offside goal, you said it's "factual" but if you look at the frame they froze, the ball already left MGW's boot a few yards. They don't have a frame when the ball was played and Elanga was a pixel "offside". If they roll it back to when the ball was actually being played I'm sure Elanga wasn't in an offside position. The technology is just not there.
Forest had a week to prepare and it showed, they upped their game in the last 15 mins while we faded. Another defeat after playing in europe, we just cannot do both,
I thought Unai could have taken Mcginn off and added Onana and Barkley to Kamara to have 3 holding midfielders, as they were always coming at us with huge energy. I think the other problem we have is a lack of pace with our subs. Why dont we have a hudson odoi or elanga in our team.
Penalty shout your player out side the area nearly pulled forest players shirt off so that should have stooped the play before the hopefull shout for a pen
Pretty decent control, solid for 70 mins or so but when you get a let off and dont learn from it its criminal to lose that game, shouldve had a pen and could have had a foul on Cash before their winner. So sloppy not to see the game out after conceding the equaliser. UTV
Kamara man of the match. Ref robbed us. Referring is a serious problem in the Premier League and in Europe. We should have had several freekicks and they should have had several yellow cards. The ref allowed them to play, allowed them to come into the game by not penalizing them.
Amazing performance from both teams. Horrific refereeing. Cash was fouled. It's a free kick. Definitely a Penalty in the first half. The glaring Di in the teams was that Forest have width. Odoi was a constant menace. Predictable with wanting to shoot on his right foot, but gave them a threat which we struggled with. We have no wingers. Needs sorting out in January.
Deffo penalty especially when he pulled his arm in the box but good header from duran what a player he is turning out to be we played well but we had a warning when var ruled out there goal and we gave the game away brilliant save from Martinez to keep it 0-0 then we score but once we brought the subs on it went down hill poor defence again so disappointed that we couldn't get the win utv
Controlled most of the game? How many times did we lose the ball? Roy Rogers biggest culprit! where was Digne at left back? Can't defend! Felt sorry for Martinez! No protection from our rubbish defenders!
I agree with you in the most part. As an away performance it was decent. We looked good at times but we suffered again by making it too easy for opposition to attack. The offside goal should have been the warning sign yet they scored a carbon copy a few mins later. I do think the second was a foul on Cash but if Konsa clears the ball upfield he isn’t in that situation for the contact in the first place. We go into last 20 mins leading games and allow the opposition to have the ball. That’s ok when it’s 0-0 and your setting traps but at 1-0 up we need to take control of the game and see them out. Same against Bournemouth at home. I still think we have a lot more to give as a team which is the positive I can take. UTV 🦁
We were robbed Luke, Should have had a penalty in the first half that was a clear foul, and on any other day that was a foul on Cash just before their second. But yes we did crumble towards the end but I was not overly disappointed with how we played, but we do need to do better and learn to either close games out or put them to bed by scoring more goals. Kamara excellent again, good to see Onana back, again just need to stop leaking goals, and need to bring in a couple of players in the Jan window. UTV!!
Subs totally killed us mate. Kamara and Youri were running the show at times. We had good control. Don’t see why you’d change it so late on in a tight game
Imagine I watched in a hotel room but had to dip just after the 80th minute, checked sofascore 15 minutes later and convinced myself the app was broken 😭😭 some horrible results against the teams around us it isn't looking good. Luckily the league is so hard for everyone right now we are still not far off where we want to be but the performances have GOT TO improve. UTV 💜💙
meatball needs to be dropped. tielemans CAM and rogers on the left, if onana is back fully then him and kamara double pivot. cannot only blame the ref and cash. we are our own worst enemy
And after all that Ive said I have to give Villa the credit they deserve, cos with all these gaps in the lineup like some when 3 players just drop off the game, they still manage to score team goals, keep the structure. The team started the season underrecruted if that word exists.
Overall I thought the teams were closely matched but particularly during the 1st half the ref was letting too much go which why I think they didn’t give the penalty decision. Some odd substitutions such as Kamara who had a great game and unsettled what had been a cohesive defense. Their 2nd goal looked like a clear foul on Cash in the build up but not given…frustrating
We can’t have any complaints, they were better than us in both defence and attack. Once again our defensive frailties continue to plague us. We were ok for 70 minutes, but as always we’re always susceptible to concede 2 or 3 quickly.
Im absolutely gutted after that. We were so comfortable and then just went to shit at the end. We have to strengthen defensively in Jan. The Rogers penalty descion was nothing short of a disgrace. What is going on with these officials?!! That isn't a debatable descion, it's 100% a foul. VAR isn't the problem, it's these incompetent idiots makikg the descions. If they think that isn't a foul. They neee to go back to ref school and be taught by someone who actually knows the game!
Forest fan here. 100 percent penalty. However because of the type of contact. Holding V.a.r not allowed to rule on it. So it's more to the rules. Morgan Gibbs white also did the same thing late. That was a penalty also. But the result is fair. 2 - 1 or 3 - 2
Poor game management, we were cruising most of the game just lost it in the last 20 mins. A draw would have been a fair result. They showed no real threat until extra time and the ref was POOR in my opinion on some decisions. I thought it was a foulnon Cash for their second goal and i thinknwe should of had a penalty in the first half. But putting things into perspective the season is still young and it is more than likely we will finish above NF this season. That result wont define our season... We March On. UTV
Funny thing is, it was such a spirited and exciting match, well played by both teams in the main, that I'm not even as mad as I thought I'd be! 🤣 Don't think anyone did anything particularly wrong. People claiming Villa were bullied. I thought Carlos handled Wood pretty well for much of the game. As for the ref, "letting players play" and allowing physicality is welcomed. But that doesn't mean you call nothing when obvious fouls occur. Villa failed to close out the match for sure. But the no-calls on Elliot are glaring mistakes from the second year referee.
to many are not good enough to keep at a high level - the levels week in and week out from top 4 and we are miles off. Spend some money on world class.
Only when we invest in some top drawer wingers will we progress, we lack so much threat, Cash and Luca is not enough! We can't rely on them just clipping balls into the box
Think Emery got the subs wrong. I thought Barkley should have come on instead of Onana and Cash probably needed a break. Either way, we fell apart under the pressure. We offered no attacking threat towards the end. With the saves and disallowed goal, we really didn’t capitalise on being ahead.
Forest fan here, you lot should've had a penalty, 100%.... The only argument we've got, is that it was a tussle to begin with, andersons shirt was almost over his head.... but it's a weak argument in my opinion. With regards to the cash 'foul', it wasn't a foul at all. Anderson won the ball first. Ref had a weird one, wanted it to flow, which is fine.....but he got a lot of decicions wrong / no consistency at all.. Anyway, always had a soft spot for Villa, quality fans, love the stadium, always a great away day. Proper club. All the best for the rest of the season....apart from one fixture at yours ;)
I'm still not happy with the whole clean sheet record its shocking there is good bits to our game but we still need to look at the defence. Its shocking not sure why we are so bad. So bad day in the office on to the next, tough one coming up lets get a win and back on track UTV.
We need to get a couple of mentality monsters in the January transfer window to help to tighten up our defence! Also if we don’t look after Jhon Duran we will lose him to one of our rivals ….that all I’m saying ‼️😋
Rogers wasn’t a penalty because he fouled Anderson first so should have been a Forest free kick. He nearly pulled his shirt off
And we took the lead after that anyway and still couldn't see it out.

Crumbled is a perfect word. But how many times do we have to put up with this
It was unfortunate Mings was taken I’ll during the warm up he’s the only one who talks & organises people he’s been a Massive lose for Villa let’s hope he’s fit for Saturday.
We never get the benfit of the doubt with VAR.
We did on the disallowed Forrest goal that took ages for them to decide on
25 winning goals conceded in the 90th minute or later in the Premier league..
..only Spurs have a worse late-goal record than Vila ...
Also glad you cleared karmara name up im frustrated at the commentators every time they say camara i shout ffs its kamara 😂
We got out of Jail with the disallowed goal though
@ that’s why I said we didn’t learn our lesson from the disallowed goal.
Every team gets horrendous decisions mate. It's just part of the game now..
Very slow.. walking and stop ball.. playing back everytimes everymatch.. why why why why????😡😩
Villa fan from Thailand 😢🇹🇭
We have zero intensity, and try to play ‘ walking football’.
@@lestrem11Yesss everymatch... really!!!!!
@@HellmanHonda It's Cashes class of football, no wonder, he's actually lucky to be in the team IMHO at this stage of Emery's Aston Villa.
Under pressure we collapse like a deck of cards, it's embarrassing, Carlos and Cash have to be shipped out ASAP UTV
This defending simply can't continue. It's not like this is a temporary issue. We got away with it on Tuesday
@kamara is the only one with grit in this team right now
@Charlie0106 Yes,in fairness mate his injury very bad a career ender so he probably still isnt 100 per match sharp.
Same as Ipswich we are just keeping the ball keep going back to the keeper all the time play forward go for the 2nd goal defence not strong enough to defend lead so stay on the front foot unless defence improves it’s going to be 2 step forward 1 step back
Poor substitute cost villa the game 😐💯💯
Also. Forest broke PSR and look where they are. We should look at doing the same… eat a points deduction then go again next season
We broke PSR based on 2 years of championship allowances so it’s not like we’ve spent more than a side like Villa
@ not mad at you for breaking PSR! Just wish we would 😂
@ the point was if it was based on the 3 year pl allowances we’d have been nowhere near it which is why nobody coming up stands a chance
@@nadal2rooney yeah agreed mate PSR is bullshit
Forest had a week to prepare and it showed, they upped their game in the last 15 mins while we faded. Another defeat after playing in europe, we just cannot do both,
I thought Unai could have taken Mcginn off and added Onana and Barkley to Kamara to have 3 holding midfielders, as they were always coming at us with huge energy. I think the other problem we have is a lack of pace with our subs. Why dont we have a hudson odoi or elanga in our team.
Penalty shout your player out side the area nearly pulled forest players shirt off so that should have stooped the play before the hopefull shout for a pen
We're losing too many 6 pointers against our rivals. We need to buck this trend sharpish otherwise the end of the year will be grim.
3 minutes to go 1-0 up and we concede three goals one chalked off so we still 1-0 up win the game ffs Bournemouth all over again
Mad
Ref and VAR was absolutely terrible as per usual... really falling out of love with football these days
You are correct... Should never have disallowed woods goal
The Forest player were being fouled in the lead up to that. Not a penalty.
Champions league hurting us in this game, last 15 minutes they have the energy and we don't, we were wide open in midfield at the end.
UTV!!
We should of had the pen but also defended better
Clear foul by Rogers on Anderson before the penalty shout. He nearly took his shirt off! So it's all moot.
Impressive watching Villa the first 60 odd minutes and deserved the lead but couldn't hold Forest back after that
Forest fan here.
Crumbled like a mr kipling cake !!!
to many are not good enough to keep at a high level - the levels week in and week out from top 4 and we are miles off.
Thinking of really done with Mings his game, shame he could not start because he was injured or sick
So bad day in the office on to the next, tough one coming up lets get a win and back on track UTV.
what is with are defending, week in week out silly mistake are costing us..5 minutes you have to see the game out…January can’t come sooner
Shocking at times
Crumbled and embarrassing. How many times do we have to see it
Forest fan here, I would be annoyed with the penalty decision that went against you. I feel that our VAR decision leveled things out though.
We’re always gonna struggle playing with 3 CBs that don’t really like to head the ball. Mings was a big miss today
We need to get a couple of mentality monsters in the January transfer window to help to tighten up our defence! Also if we don’t look after Jhon Duran we will lose him to one of our rivals ….that all I’m saying ‼️😋
Cash very poor McGinn very poor Digne very poor Carlos mediocre at best serious changes still needed
