     Study of Bryophytes: Bryology
     Bryophyta (Greek: Bryon = moss, phyton = plants) is a non-vascular land plant.
     Mosses are small flowerless green plant that lacks true roots, stem and leaves, growing in moist and shady habitats and reproduce by means of spores.
     Father of Bryology: J. Hedwig (He is known for his particular observations of sexual reproduction in the cryptogams.)
     Father of Indian bryology: SR Kashyap (He was a specialist on the bryophytes especially from the Himalayan region)
     Smallest bryophyte : Zoopsis
     Largest bryophyte: Dawsonia (Dawsonia plants are commonly known to grow taller and have thicker leaves than other common mosses.)
