"It feels like you're sitting in a shoe - it's fantastic." I think that's who the car is for - people eho can appreciate and enjoy the small, somewhat ridiculous, but fun things in life. Great little review.
I bought it 3years ago for my wife, but I love to drive this little one.I am 6foot 4 and there is enough space for me as a driver or passenger.Great car front wheel drive for winter time as well. The same 1.2TCe.Cheap car parts, you can replace a lots of parts yourself. My car is 2011 and when I bought it was 12.000miles on the clock.Still engine looks like new from factory.I am changing oil filter and engine oil every 10.000 km,I changed gearbox oil as well, new brake disc drilled front and rear and looks really nice hehee.I replaced front headlights bulb H1 for led bulbs.Greetings from co.Wexford,Ireland
Seriously thinking about getting one of these whilst the prices are still relatively low! It In a world where everything seems to be a bland SUV, this is definitely a breath of fresh air, for want of a better expression. This is definitely the sort of thing French (and Italian) makers have traditionally done best - affordable cars with a huge sense of fun
I have one since a year now, a 1.2. The visibility is not an issue to me, the main down is the very tight suspension, then the lack of storage for the driver, you can't put a cup down for example. It's a cool car, fun to drive I don't regret having bought one.
Had my Wind for about a month now. Same colour scheme. Black on black. Absolutely adore the car. the little 1.2 TCe engine is very perky. And the roof! always a good feeling to get that down. :D
I'm 6 foot 1 inch and have a wind deflector which takes about an inch of headroom and I still have almost 3 inches of headroom. Amazingly I don't have the seat all the way back either as I'd be too far from the clutch! A brilliant car.
Most fun for the amount of money you can buy. The renault sport suspension makes this a fun car. 100hp is enough if you keep it on the small roads the 133hp sound more exciting but isn't that much better then the 1.2tce. Had one for about a year and it's a no nonsense fun little car.
I’ve bought one. With only 28,000 on the clock. A few issues here and there. Super-low mileage cars often suffer a little from NOT being driven. Mine is the 1.2 Tce GT Sport Line. With the full leather seat upgrade, like this one. I’ve just shelled out £1,500 to get ‘Wendy’ back up to perfection. All except the trademark Renault ‘blotchy’ paint, which will take some professional attention to bring back up. Cam belt service, two new discs, all new pads, new handbrake mech, engine oil and coolant flush, two new tyres. Climate re-gassing. Folding roof ‘issue’ which turned out to be a faulty micro-switch. Also, buyers beware…. The headlamp covers fade badly in the sunlight. Mine are being polished out because they’re not the worst. Also, if you’re getting the cam belt done, pay a few quid more and swap out the water pump for a new one. Water pumps are fairly cheap, but hard to get at and replace, UNLESS you already have the motor in bits to do the cam belt. So, swapping it out at the same time makes better sense. Incidentally, I live in Brighton, and this car is a Twink Magnet Btw, I’m 6’1” and 95kg on a good day. I fit the car just fine. The seat adjusts up and down as well as forward and back. Great driving position. And despite being by no means sporty, it’s a HOOT to drive.
Great to hear! Thanks for the feedback. The camel interior is really rare, nice find. It actually sold within two weeks of being on Auto Trader. A lady bought it to keep at her summer home - perfect use for it!
Stumbled on this video, I've had one for 80,000 miles and I love it, and I still wave when I see people driving it. One new clutch and that's it. I was wearing a slouch beanie hat once with the roof down and someone shouted I looked like Noddy, in hindsight probably asking for it though. Mine is the 1.6 and it sounds better than yours ;-) and it's more economical for the A road driving that I do more of (1.2 is better in the city obvs). I have had some fun with it, but I actually find you never go anywhere near the red, even when flooring it to motorway merge etc (or maybe I'm just getting old lol ) You've got the all black alloys though, I've always been tempted to paint mine. I'm 5ft 10 too so it's fine for me, but I actually think someone who is a bit bigger in terms of urrm ... girth might struggle because they are deceivingly bucket like seats. Shame mine has been knocked about quite a bit.
We've test drove the 1.6 from a garage and the fuel remaining on the dash was 41 miles. Did around 10 to 15 miles including flooring it a few times and dropped to only about 35 miles left
I bought 3 years ago, year 2011 for €4500 in Ireland so for 2.8k I think is a good price.12.000miles on the clock in my Wind when I bought it and it was in great condition, like new
Actually no its based on the Twingo chassis . Renault shoukd have called it the Twingo Coupe or even the Twingo Wind. It would have sold more. I have no doubt the Wind name but many off buying one for fear of ridicule.
My girlfriend used to have one. I hadn't heard of it before and I was amazed when I first saw it. I couldn't believe that she'd chosen such a cool car. Then we tried opening the roof!! At the traffic lights just to show off. We went away on holiday in it and the boot was quite good enough for us. She sold it for a boring car, I do think it was a girl's car.. My only dislike about it was the limited range of colours. White blue and black. White and black aren't really colours at all. There was one made in red but it's the Renault red that's a bit dull. Silver, yellow, green...
Had 1 for a week or so I really like it. Apart from the lazy French not putting the door lock on the drivers door and the wind screen wipers are the wrong way round.
It’s an awful shame these didn’t come with an automatic transmission - probably the only reason you can still find them to buy on the second hand market - and with low mileages too! It’s a typical ME car, and the 1.2 TCe is ULEZ compliant too! No auto transmission, otherwise I’d buy one in a heartbeat…!!! ❤

Just bought mine for 3k mint condition but I have seen them a lot cheaper

A great car. I drive mine every day. This was the time when renault were quirky and good quality.
I've taken to it.
It reminds me of my first car the Fiat X-19.
great video! loving the energy
I bought one after seeing this review. many thanks you really helped. I also got a black but with camel leather. Do you still have the car?
Great to hear! Thanks for the feedback. The camel interior is really rare, nice find. It actually sold within two weeks of being on Auto Trader. A lady bought it to keep at her summer home - perfect use for it!
I have the same leather chairs, great looking combo. Looking forward to spring again!

🎶 🎵SHES LIKE THE WIND...🎶 🎵
In a few years they will rise in Value! Because can you buy a small and cheap convertible today?
Absolutely!!

We've test drove the 1.6 from a garage and the fuel remaining on the dash was 41 miles. Did around 10 to 15 miles including flooring it a few times and dropped to only about 35 miles left
Great review
Great review! I am interested in one :D Do they have bluetooth for phone?
Also can someone 6 ft 4 fit in drivers seat?
Thank you! Yes, with audio streaming!
Would you still buy a 2011 1.2 for around £2.8k?
I bought 3 years ago, year 2011 for €4500 in Ireland so for 2.8k I think is a good price.12.000miles on the clock in my Wind when I bought it and it was in great condition, like new
Think it needs a bit more black colour coding....nobody ‘got’ them when new, maybe the used market will appreciate them better...
Have you gotten anywhere with the S Class
Slowly but surely. Almost ready for MOT, new video coming soon
Based on Clio chassis ... not twingo ;)
Actually no its based on the Twingo chassis . Renault shoukd have called it the Twingo Coupe or even the Twingo Wind. It would have sold more. I have no doubt the Wind name but many off buying one for fear of ridicule.
Who much it's cost ?
