Los alemanes están muy por detrás de España en AIP. Además, el submarino español es el doble de grande y tiene unas capacidades de llevar armamento muy superiores.

@@sta1100 if PH can fund approx. $1.1-1.2Bn for MRF project, they can fund the submarine project too which will cost slightly higher. PH managed to purchase 32 Blackhawks, 3 Brahmos batteries, 2x Missile “Corvettes” Frigates, 6x OPVs, 3 SPYDER Batteries, 2x ATR 72 MPA combining which will cost above a billion $, they can purchase a full packaged French Scorpene acquisition (2x Subs, Infra, Local MRO, Personnel training, Local Suppliers participation, etc.) too.

Old design, limited capabilities, outdated and not-so-reliable old generation AIP, incapable of dealing with tomahawks, much less stealth, much less capable combat system, no cyber security as the Spaniard, and old design concept that is not even comparable with Spanish marble technology, design and thus capabilities. Etc. There are better options than an old submarine like a Scopene for the Philippines. And the best out there is the S80+ from Navantia.

@@pipopasion6000 doesn’t need to be a submariner to say which choice is better. Scorpene class is operated by Brazil, Chile, Malaysia and India
Naval Group has experience in submarine building compared to DSME/ Hanwha Ocean which is the other competitor offering the problematic Type 209 copycat (ask Indonesia) which makes the Scorpene class a better choice. + the French offering softloan and 100% complete package which will benefit the local economy and local SRDP in the long run.
