    No idea where those Hip hop beats came from, it was a 2am edit and it seemed to work at the time! :-) Enjoy!

      Where do you get your music from usually? I guess it's royalty free? And yes, awesome build. Very inspiring.

    The Restoration Couple I, for one, like it. Good energy as you embark upon this chapter in the build.
    Tim, your amazing. You dream. You plan. And you execute beautifully. All while managing a career, being a husband and father.
    Most of all, the manner in which you share your projects with the world is a rare find.
    Brilliant work, as usual. Looking forward to the next video in the series.
    Take care and be well.

    I love that you use what the van gives you with the door light! Gives you the opportunity not having to look around in the dark for a light switch should you ever come back to the van later than expexted. Great job!

    Don’t forget to leave access to rear lights in the event of bulb change. Interesting series of videos.

    Looks awesome! And thanks for doing the bit above the cab early on. I've been procrastinating over that bit because I had no idea. Seeing that I think I do have an idea now. Great idea re coat hooks on the space between the frame and the back door. I was trying to figure out what to do with that space, a couple of hooks for coat/bag might be a simple answer. Keep up the good work, it's very useful seeing it all.

      Above cab almost done now. It is lined with 25mm of celotex and then the inside surfaces I have just carpeted. It will be used for bedding storage so no need for anything fancy.

    Great thinking leaving the spot over the cab a little wider for the upper cabinet to run into. I wouldn't have done that and then kicked myself when I was hanging the cabinet.

    You mentioned the transition from the plastic to the plywood, try using foam and surface it with dark grey acrylic paint with some sort of texture, maybe using a roller, if it works just use normmal carpenter glue in case you ever want to change things up.

    This is all coming together very well Tim. If you happen to do any more scribing to fit the kitchen cabinets would you mind showing us the process you use in detail? You manage to get the ply very flush with the uneven wall it’s impressive. I’m a complete novice so not sure how it’s done. Thanks and keep up the good work.

      Sure. This was my warm up act, there is plenty more to do so will be shooting in more detail then. Just needed to get on with the first few to get back in the swing of it. 👍

    have you considered looking at making your base units with foam slab and very thin veneer ply? nice and light but very sturdy

    • @TheRestorationCouple
      @TheRestorationCouple  6 лет назад +1

      No, i have seen it but not sure it is necessary as I will just be using a framework rather than slab carcass so will just use thin ply as dividers where needed.

    Excellent job you do here, congrats.
    Do you plan to put some silicone(or something) where the cabinets and walls are joining?
    I think there are a couple of millimeters from hand cutting that you would like to mask. That might also prevent the squealing also being elastic (as there would be some vibrations).

    Hi, quick question. I'm In the process of ply lining and kitting out the same van for a crew cab, struggling to work out the storage space above the front seats..
    I see u have cut a ply fascia to cover the old bulk head metal, but how have you finished the underside of this, from the back of the ply, up to the plastic head and b pillars.. Cheers.

    Hi Tim. I’m very keen to see your cabinets. I’ve done my face frames with a rebate as you mentioned but what hinges to use?

    • @TheRestorationCouple
      @TheRestorationCouple  6 лет назад

      You can get face frame hinges or just use conventional hinges with stays for upper units. I’m not quite there yet but will be doing it later this week.

    Hi Tim. Do you use specific kreg pocket hole screws, or have you found an alternative washer head screw that can do the job for better value? I can’t seem to find a decent length washer head screw, nothing in screwfix or equivalent, just wondered what you use. Great videos. Tom

    • @TheRestorationCouple
      @TheRestorationCouple  6 лет назад

      Have used both kreg and trend. There are some cheaper alternatives online but don’t use enough yet to worry about it. Trend seem to be easier to get hold of.

    Hello, thank you for all the videos, many have been of massive help (atm about the lay my own patio).
    I was wondering what is the name of the tool that allows you to drill a hole at a steel angle?
    Thank you again

    How did you make the stencil for the upper cabinets sections? Is there a trick or are you magic man?! lol! :-D

    • @TheRestorationCouple
      @TheRestorationCouple  5 лет назад

      Just scribe to a piece of card. A compass works well or a piece of wood with a hole for pen.

    Do you plan on making large cupboards/closets at the ends of the overhanging cupboards, that would make hanging the overhead cupboards easier to hang.
