Your travel videos are very cool. Thank you for taking me to such fun and interesting places. I want to go too. It's a great video. I look forward to future videos as well.
Thank you, this is amazing to see. I stayed in the hotel back in the 70s in the staff accommodation as a child,. My auntie and sister worked there as a chambermaid, and waitress/cocktail waitress and I would stay in their room. My sister was absolutely horrified when a couple paid £200 for a meal. They earned less than £25 a week. The staff quarters are a warren running through the hotel. My sister and aunt always said they liked American tourists because they were interested in them, didn't look down on them, and they wanted to see the local villages and were kind and good tippers. The English tourists were a bit, well aloft, and terrible tippers. I've never seen the actual guest areas, so this is a real eye opener. Hope I'm not giving anything away, but back then, there was a sous chef who lived on the ground floor, who had to leave his window open so that anyone going out to the nearest village of Auchterarder for a wee drink could get back in again. There was always a train of people passing through his room.
I am glad to have brought back some memories 😊. I suppose the hotel was expensive at that time, and it hasn’t changed. But it comes with excellent service, which is rewarded with an 18% tip included in the bill. I spoke to some staff members, and some of them have worked there for years, and they love their jobs.
Most people speak English nowadays, and if I were to do it in my language, my audience would be very limited. Plus, I live in the UK. But thank you, it is something that I am still considering. 😊

Not really the most luxurious hotel in the uk but still decent
The hotel has won the title of the most luxurious hotel in the UK for the past few years. What is the most luxurious hotel in the UK for you?
