Hot take for D2R, what if they made it possible to make runewords in set/unique weapons. It wouldn't do to much for casters but immagene a DOOM runeworde in the runemaster axe for example, or just a Strenght in a low level unique weapon and stuff like that.

In regards to splash damage... say a mechanic was added to barbarians where you have a *chance* to cleave on most attacks, 100% on berserk and 0% on concentrate. Balanced or no?
I think having it on most attacks still kinda gets away from the identity. I think something like just adding to berserk would be interesting, though that skill is already great. Maybe adding splash in a straight line for bash and everything it gets knocked into could be interesting. Just stuff to make it different
@@MrLlamaSC Even adding that chance to cleave function to 2h weapons only, that'd give 2 handers a bit of identity AND an advantage over dual wielding.
I feel like base diablo 2 is great but it has so many mechanics to me that was outdated even when it came out. Casters feel far superior to anything because melee has to take it slow, they have to have decent attack rating, they have to have big health pools and res. They go through so many steps just to be a slow bad version of anything that's a caster. I don't mind the power difference but whenever I play melee and wanna take it slow I still find myself needing more attack rating because I forget about it and I end up slapping one dude for 6 attacks before even hitting.
Honestly, if you have the aptitude to be able to count, you’re probably better off focusing on poker. The casino doesn’t care how much you win, since you’re playing against other players. They have zero incentive to make it harder for you to win. And the variance in counting is just a big as it is in poker.
7:27 in essence, D2 was never intended to be the AoE focused hnnng speed fest that D3, D4 and I would say PoE became. Moving toward that "no danger everything dies in seconds" AoE style takes away from what D2 is - this is proven by the absurdity of them adding Mosaic and making PS assassin essentially be an extention of modern AoE farming simulators. Thats all that comes at the end of that path. It becomes boring, repetitive and uninspiring very fast.

Killing on players 8 gives a lot more experience. The monsters are of course harder but hammer damage is just nasty good

Not having splash on every char is good in multiplayer to support team work but in single player its rough.
