It has been 3-4 years now! Update on how the wire worked?

If you add rubber baseboard to the bottom of your tractor, it will cover most of the ruts in your pasture

Do you just keep moving the grounding rod when you move the tractor?

uneven ground is why i stopped using chicken tractors, but have never heard anyone else comment about it until your video so I thought I was doing something wrong (like I didn't have wire across the bottom). And yes, i had issues with cross beams too and chickens being stupid and not moving. Though I never lost one, it was a chore to get them to move as I moved the house.

I've considered the electric netting but I'm not sure if I want to go there yet.

electric netting does a poor job keeping chickens in as they can walk through the gaps and apparently have great insulation. Happened to me and I have Googled other people talking about it as well. It is good for keeping predators out though.

Glad I know that. You just saved me some cussin.

You can probably line the bottom of that coop with chicken wire. Attach it to the center support. Anything getting in or out will be extremely difficult. Another is to drop food in one spot right before you move it. Then they are most likely huddled together.

Just expect to crush some from time-to-time? Are you nuts? Wrong attitude! Slow down man. You need to match their speed, not the other way around! I don't know where you learned your animal husbandry skills, but you'd never be welcome on my farm.

I always assumed chicken and rabbit tractors had floors to prevent them digging out and predators tunneling in

Weed eating is tough around that low electric wire.

About how much was the total cost of your electric setup ?
