Every time you have those "but..." or "what if..." moments, I find it helpful to IMMEDIATELY eat something whether you're hungry or not (preferably the scariest thing in the kitchen). It's not about nutrition, it's about retraining, and it is very serious stuff. If you're asking those kinds of questions or doubting or second-guessing, that's your ED being a sneaky bastard; you have to smack it on the nose with a rolled up newspaper! No fooling around with that nonsense, it'll drag you back in if you give it an inch.
Thank you Tabitha for NOT doing a 'what I eat in a day'!! Your videos are just fine as they are!! Recovery advice and to the point, we don't need to see everything you eat. How would that be helpful when everyone needs different amounts of food anyway?!! Some of the you tube 'what I eat in a day' are so unrealistic anyway. More about how good it looks on Instagram! Isn't the food cold by the time that they get to eat it?! Also not everyone can afford fancy ingredients or nice bakes from coffee shops!! My sandwiches often are thrown together with a loaf that has been a bit squashed in the cupboard, or eaten out of the plastic packet if I've bagged a reduced one whilst on the go!! certainly not Instagram worthy!! 😂🤣 Often wonder if watching others eat or looking at endless videos about food is actually feeding into the anorexia and just food porn?!!!! I do like some of the other videos where people show other aspects of their life, but I'm usually admiring the crockery or the wallpaper in the kitchen rather than looking at said food, lol. Really trying hard with recovery and using you tubers for support as have no actual outside support but I do worry about the amount of unhelpful content out there, especially when people are showing clearly diet foods and small portions and labelling it as anorexia recovery or an extreme hunger day! Really?!! You haven't seen my extreme hunger days!!!!! 🙄 Anyway rant over, but please please don't go changing Tabitha! Don't mind the vid showing people your dogs, but really. Just stick to the facts!! Xx
I find it funny we need permission to eat. It's okay to eat when you're mentally hungry and if you want a particular food. All these rules while dieting really messes with our brains. Thank you for giving us permission over and over. Hopefully the information will sink in and stay put. So far, I've recovered from insomnia, cold hands and feet, pain in my foot, dry hair, dry skin, itchy skin, and depressed mood. All from eating foods! So simple! Thank you for all of your help Tabitha!
You're incredible. While my recovery is mostly my own doing, as it should be, you're DEFINITELY helping to smooth along the process. Thank you so much for all the work you do xxx
What if I am already at a healthy weight and don’t want to put on more weight? I’m in beginning of recovery and already at a BMI of 21...mentally I’m not their yet but the weight is going up at a scary speed
you keep eating anyway. BMI is bullshit. your body will settle at the weight it needs to settle into. as long as you stop restricting and stop engaging in any food rules, and you consistently honor your hunger and eat every few hours (or more often), your body will learn that food is no longer scarce, and eventually your anxiety around food will lessen. it's hard to accept a higher weight, but at the end of the day, you'll be much better off because of it.
Thanks, your videos are so helpful and funny! Just one question: What do you say about the many new studies that refute the set-point theory? The fact that it doesn't seem to exist in this way makes me afraid to let go of any control. A friend of mine also has overshoot in recovery until overweight (previously underweight), doesn't lost the extra weight so far and fight against her binges now. I'm so scared to fall into this cycle and get overweight...

What if, when asking "can I eat more", the answer is "no" because it's the ED answering but the person can't see that?
It is so hard for me to eat in front of People... I don’t know how to Recover when My husband is Here...
Animal tour yes!!! Veil please 😍
