I secretly filmed us handing over the flat and that we painted white and cleaned everything. He tried to say he had to get in a painter to redo all the walls because we left the colour and that we stole a door (as you do) but we could prove with the video that 1. Everything was white and 2. The door was there when we left the keys.
You'd be surprised how many landlords don't know the tenant laws,they just think with it's renting a place and doing whatever they want,that's why laws had to be made,i think she's now getting aggressive at this point,as she's learning the law isn't on her side and thinks if she keeps it up harassing you,she'll drive you out sooner,you know your rights and stick to your plans.

Omg we have the same birthday 🥳 !!!(Hope this helps!) I bought a queen size mattress “space bag” from Amazon (vacuum bag). Put my mattress in and used my vacuum to get all of the air out. I rolled it up, and used straps to keep it rolled. It was super easy to move and doesn’t take up too much space.

I'm sure your not the only one in the flats that is being affected by the rent increase ao they had to backpeddle on their timeline for moving people out. My neice and her family had to move back in with my widowed brother earlier in the year because the rent on the home they where renting was raised beyond their means to pay the increase. For your bed situation when you move it. I would recommend getting ratchet straps and using about 3 of them. Basically turn the bed into a taco shape and have a strap on either side wrapped all the way around and then one in the middle. It would be much easier to move if you have someone else helping . That way it is more stable and not flopping all over the place and then you have something to hold onto when moving it.
If it is a memory foam mattress you can fold it in half and run a rope around the fold to use as a handle to carry it. It is still going to be a pain in the ass, but it is the closest thing I have found to making it easier to move. I did it with my sister's mattress when she moved out of a 3rd story apartment.
I would do the final walk through a step further than most and I have done this for my safety multiple times. Record the final walk through by yourself first be extremely detailed. Then Record the final walk through with your landlord and show giving them the keys. If you think that there will be conflict like them saying " no you can't Record me" then do NOT mention recording the walk through with them, do so anyway on your phone without their knowledge, not showing the face until you walk away to film the face from a distance. Put the phone in your back pocket facing out like the girls who try to see who is looking at their butt or something else that is discreet so that you don't have to deal with the confrontation. If you get caught tell them that it is for your safety because they have been so hard on you. I did this myself twice because I had a feeling that my landlords were going to try pulling some shady things and GUESS WHAT they did! Once I told them that I had a recording of everything and that they had better fix the bill or go to court they resubmitted the claims. They each only kept my deposit in the end, even though I could prove I deserved it back, but at least it wasn't the multiple thousands of dollars over the deposit anymore so I didn't take them to court. You need to protect yourself. Even if you think that there is a law or legal support group out there for you to help in your case, shady landlords have the upper hand and they know it! I have been screwed over before so that is why I started recording things to protect myself. I have horrible anxiety and other issues that made doing this very hard for me which is why I didn't do it the first time. I can promise you that the stress from having to pay a huge bill, being homeless because others won't rent to you because of that bill you know is wrong, is way worse than the stress of recording for your safety. It took me two years of paying off that wrongful bill before anyone would rent to me again so please learn from my mistakes.

I had a similar experience re-reading Lost Souls for the first time since my early 20s, only with me it was the way Ghost ultimately seemed to forgive Steve for abusing his girlfriend that felt shitty. I didn't even remember that part. I'm sorry your landlord is being so awful. This is such a rotten place to rent - I've experienced both private renting and (currently) social housing in Northern Ireland and in both cases there's a high chance of greedy, dehumanising and illegal treatment. I wasn't aware there was a legal minimum period for informing us of rent increases, and I will be going through my letters from my housing association, as they just foisted a massive rent hike on us that's added to my stress a lot, so thanks for the tip on that/sorry you're in a position to have had to look into all the legalities around this stuff. We all deserve a better housing system.
Just thinking, if you are willing to put stuff in storage, have you though about getting a camper van? You'll have accommodation and a way of travel in one. Can get to London, somewhere to stay. Just a thought.

Last year me and my partner had to move because our landlord was selling. She was pretty decent tbh, gave us a 3 month warning and gave us our deposit no questions asked. So looking for a flat in our budget was stupid, like the same neighbourhood 1 bed flat prices went up by 100-150 more a month from when we last moved in 2021. Most landlords are scum. It’s crazy how similar our situations are. I lived with my bf and 2 other roommates who are a couple at this apartment. And we had a feeling they want to break the lease, but the lease was supposed to be up in August, so we had time. Not long after you posted your first video about moving out, the roommates told us we have one month only to move out! Turns out the lease was up in the beginning of June, so that sucked A LOT. We go to college, it is finals season too, and my birthday is on May 15th, just like you having yours in the middle of moving out! So I didn’t celebrate at all, trying to power thru, we finally moved in to the new place just in after one month. But I feel so much for you and how hard it is to find a place, pack, legal stuff and your back hurting for weeks after it.

Depending on what kind of mattress u have if it is a mattress from a box you can buy a mattress bag that you can vacuum the air out of so it’s easier to move

You should come to Cookstown it's so quiet down here plus we actually get snow in winter ❄️ and there enough outside space to enjoy the sun (when we get it) it's cheaper too. Have you thought about co ownership? That's how I got my 1st house as renting sucks...
You can print out QR codes that will link to a list of everything you have in that box! So you can be like Dishes : qr code and when you scan it you can put what particular dishes are in that box!

Last year me and my partner had to move because our landlord was selling. She was pretty decent tbh, gave us a 3 month warning and gave us our deposit no questions asked. So looking for a flat in our budget was stupid, like the same neighbourhood 1 bed flat prices went up by 100-150 more a month from when we last moved in 2021.
Most landlords are scum. They live for the power trip of stressing out the working class with the threat of homelessness. All the best Kaya and good luck!

It’s crazy how similar our situations are. I lived with my bf and 2 other roommates who are a couple at this apartment. And we had a feeling they want to break the lease, but the lease was supposed to be up in August, so we had time. Not long after you posted your first video about moving out, the roommates told us we have one month only to move out!
Turns out the lease was up in the beginning of June, so that sucked A LOT. We go to college, it is finals season too, and my birthday is on May 15th, just like you having yours in the middle of moving out!
So I didn’t celebrate at all, trying to power thru, we finally moved in to the new place just in after one month. But I feel so much for you and how hard it is to find a place, pack, legal stuff and your back hurting for weeks after it.
I also have a renegade, mine is yellow. The check engine light will never stop. And nothing will actually fix it 😅
