Thanks!! I also just watched your latest video and I'm laughing at how similar our tastes are in patterns, I think at least 3 you mention making recently or wanting to are also on my list :)
@@woolseeknitting Hahaha I had the same thought when I watched your episode! I also recently knit a twist loop top, so when you showed your ghost whisperer on top of your twist loop top I was like, I mean I guess great minds think alike! 😂 Your projects are beautiful and I love all the details you chat about in your podcast!
I'm also back now that I finished the episode! I'm also working on a cumulus tee right now so I feel your pain. My story with it is that I didn't gauge swatch, am also ending up with a 24 st gauge, needed to size down to below what the pattern even offers to accommodate, and somehow ended up with a different number of stitches on the front and back. I say "somehow" as if I don't know exactly how. It's because I wanted to try compound raglan increases and figured I would "remember" to do the v neck increases on the correct rows due to the crushing weight of my own anxiety, which tbf, generally works. But I didn't rip back, I just fudged a bunch in. Tl:Dr, your cumulus tee is going to be so amazing and chic, and with that gorgeous yarn and your looser gauge i think the 3/4 length sleeves will be chef's kiss. Also if I could make a meme of marge Simpson holding your sock and cross stitch saying "I just think they're neat", I...would probably not do that because it's creepy, but you get it. And please do post your knit city Montreal vid! I love your emphasis on sustainability with your purchases and you seem to be the only podcaster I know who went to a talk and I would love to hear about it! Congrats on being done school, all your projects look amazing!
The butterfly clips! They sell them at a lot of stores: La Senza, Shoppers, London Drugs (mayyyybe at Victoria's Secret and Superstore but I don't remember). I work in film and these are an essential part of my kit to hide bra straps haha
17th!? Maybe there are some knitters who work at the library?? I enjoy your subtle humor and how you present your knits and talk about them. I like all your knits and especially what you're wearing. It looks stunning on you.
Yay, you're back! I love the new name! Also, for me the use of the back triangles on a tank top is for bra coverage - some bras I own have a little triangle like that at the back and they get covered better :)
How nice to see you back with an episode 😀. I am currently doing a test-knit for a summer tank....it's the first design by Erin of KuriaKnits podcast, she's in the Kitchener area, I believe. So much fun supporting a new, somewhat local knitter 😊
Love the new channel name! And oh man I totally did the same assumption thing with this pair of shorts I'm knitting--I cast on the so summer shorts (by Jessie Maed) and because I was making it with the same silk fibre/size as one I made last year, I went in with so much confidence with notes about the modifications I made. What I didn't do was count properly 🤦🏻♀️ I was off by 30sts!! So it looked small but because it's silk I thought it would just grow... I didn't clue in until I finished with the waistband/had to add markers for increases... I had to frog the whole thing and redo the provisional cast-on which is the bane of my existence 😭 I really love my knitted silk shorts, but I needed to use smaller needles (3mm) to get a more opaque fabric.
Oof I feel for you! That is rouuuuugh. Silk creates such a nice fabric but so far it seems high maintenance to get right. I bet your second shorts will be worth it but ! such an adjustment!
You can also use lightbulb stitch markers or a safety pin to make a bra into a racer back! My friends and I used to do that in high school...it helps to have another person pin and unpin you but it's not too fiddly to do through your top usually.
you should check out interlibrary loans! im american but i work at my local library and am a knitter and I frequently request books. if they’re available at another library in my state, they’ll mail the book and sometimes they’ll purchase the book if no libraries have it but they see a need for it. i just looked it up cuz i was worried this would be a waste of a comment and ottawa public library has it!!!
New subscriber! Thank you for your work here -- can you tell me exactly what needle* you're using for your Acorn Socks? I tried sock knitting (magic loop) years ago and didn't love it. Want to try again. ( *I see it's a 9" but need to know brand/style/whatever it takes to buy that exact one)
Thanks! I use the chiagoo 9" circulars, and typically a 2.25mm or 2mm depending on the pattern. I recommend having a long circular or dpns handy though, because it's a pain to do the toe and heel with just a 9"
so good to have you back!!
Love the punny new name! Awesome episode and I loveee the yarn combo you used for your pink cardigan. The color looks so great on you!

Magpie brain is so accurate and I'm definitely gonna have to set a budget for my first fiber festival coming up
The cabled top you're wearing is so cute! And that bra strap thingy is a great idea!!

There must be knitters among them! And thank you for the kind words!

Thank you for sharing this, it helps me wrap my brain around something so I see the purpose and it bugs me less!!
Great that you’re back ❤️
Love the new name!
I was at work in nyc when your fire air came here 😢 I literally could not breathe those two days lol but glad it’s over!!!
It was a bad time!

That's awesome! I am a big Erin fan so happy to see her design have solid testers :)

That's a great tip too! I was sure there was an easy way to DIY it but I saw these converters at the mall and grabbed 'em :)
This week I got a recent issue of Interweave Knits on the Libby app from my local library and am now knitting Lady Westernra’s shawl!!!
Awesome!
Libby is the best kept secret in the world
What another knitter who is a fan of birds (especially black-capped chickadees!) ??

Thank you for this tip!! I used ILL a lot in my undergrad for research but it didn't occur to me to use it for leisure :)

@@woolseeknitting Way good to know -- nobody mentions that! XO
Mwahahahaa all the hobbies - I'll convert you to sewing soon 😂
Wouldn't be surprised!
