Song was straight up murdered ... just sing without all the extra. The sanctity of this song just completely ruined
Karen Clark can sing but this wasn’t the right choice of song for her. The songwriter intended for this melody to be felt by the soul and her interpretation is subpar and underwhelms in that regard. Too much screaming, growling, and needless runs. This song isn’t about that at all. Her theatrics is quite irritating 😠
I love Karen but she also didn’t know the song either lol. And think that is why the vocal theatrics kicked in but it is her signature she is one of the ones who can get away with that.
