Huge props to DK Engineering - that comment about ofc we could basically re-assemlble it as if it were new but since you drive your car that wouldn't really make much sense gave us so much insight into their mentality and how well deserved their reputation. It's rare for a mechanic to not only not try to up-sell you but also make sure you don't commission unnecessary work.
Old School, straight to the point, painfully gorgeous car … seems the 0-60 in -3 second cars are getting a bit stale so to have a RUclips dedicated to preserving the cars that we 80s and 90s babies dreamed of is awesome!
its because he doesnt have a multi million car collection and uses cars like an old 360 and a fiat abarth :D But I agree, he deserves alot bigger following, a genuinely nice guy
My dad did a similar thing with his 1987b911 - he took it to cam tune who’d always looked after it. They had it for the winter, dismantled so much of the car. There were things that both my dad and they knew they wanted to do anyway that meant they were going to have to dismantle to that extent but they were amazing, coming up with a plan that meant he wouldn’t be precious when he got it back! They were chuffed to see it hadn’t become a garage queen a year later!
I bought a manual 360 in January and watched all your videos before. So, I can say you are to partially "blame" for that :) I drove it 2700km on a summer road trip and it was an absolute blast! I really enjoyed this video and was nice to see DK going through the car.
Christ it makes me feel older seeing 20 year old next to Ferrari 360. I remember going to the NEC in Birmingham around 2001-2002 with my school mates and walked around a couple of brand spanking new 360s. Doesn't feel 20 years ago! They've aged really well so far though to be fair
It's essential you provide us with the full estimated cost from DK. Please don't suddenly back peddle with the most important info. Thanks for the informative upload and especially to Paul at DK for his insightfulness.
I know that even these minor fixes could cost a fortune on a Ferrari but I would be really happy if a mechanic with this knowledge says these things to any of my cars, you take really good care of this car that is for sure.
Such a great video, would usually skip past videos of this nature but watched the whole thing. I dunno what it is about you Sam but you’re content is very watchable !
Would be great if you get a respray done to give us some fantastic insights and details. I have a 993 that needs a respray and not sure where to start and what's involved. I'm sure Ferrari/Porsche would be similar ???
I’m more of a fair-weather STG fan these days, however i can see the effort he puts in to videos and how he’s trying new things. If this turns into a series you can count me in as an avid viewer.
What a great and insightful video into what goes into these thorough deep inspections for when looking at repairs and etc. Still an absolute beauty your 360 👌🏽. Excited to see this journey - thanks for sharing the journey with us!
I love coming for a drive with you to get coffee. 😂 the shot after you left the coffee shop to DK engineering 👌 Never been a Ferrari guy but I fell in love with the 360 courtesy of your videos.
Do all of the 'bits' Sam. If you can, bite the bullet and have her at 100%. I would do that before looking at adding to the garage. Its good content, makes sense, and will make you feel oh-so-good knowing everything is perfect.
I personally would do the wheels first. Such a large part to the appearance of the car but a simple enough fix for a wheel restoration company. Makes a huge difference to how you see the car. Like a nice pair or shoes or a watch in my opinion.
Great video! The car is very clean with just a few minor cosmetics issues. If the budget is tight start off with the items that bothers you the most. I'm going to enjoy watching this series!
You are so brave!! The engine mount info was useful to know. Using soapy water on the engine cleaning was helpful too. You like myself have avoided salty roads but have the previous owners been so careful? I’m going to fix up to have a look underneath my car with my Ferrari Specialist. I think its good to be planning some preventative maintenance!
Thanks Sam, really interesting content and a fascinating insight into DK Eng., I hope they will share other content in the future. (not at your expense). You mentioned being worried about the highly knowledgeable Paul, who was great BTW. I think it's so reassuring when someone really knows the car that well. He will save you cash. Number one on your list I think, should be engine mounting. I think from a driver perspective it will transform feel. (that's why the 992 has suspension on the mounts these days). I think the 360 is a great car. Pleased it isn't a garage queen. Cars are for driving. I really look forward `to future content. Great idea.
It looks like there was more disappoinment with the coffee than the car which was lucky! 😀 Great video, can't wait to see what you choose to get done 👍🏻
As cool as the 360 is, I’m really sad the 996 is gone (or going to be gone) now… it suited you perfectly and the 996 was getting the love it deserved to get! But obviously you’re the one owning and deciding to own or sell them so all good!😉
5/10? Oh dear! That sounds very average. 360 sounding fantastic. A great purchase. I do like that jacket you are wearing in this video. Where is it from? Cracking workshops at DK. Enjoyed the Paul DK inspection. Very informative. Ought to be a good series. Thank you.
just a safe word to everyone, if you've rubber grommet's or rubber seals in the engine bay, suspension, interior etc & is worried about possible failure, get some silicone spray or silicone paste & wipe it over the rubber it'll keep them fresh & last much longer as the silicone moisturises the rubber!! & it'll save you a fortune.. unlike sam who if he moves forward with this work will probably pay through his nose!
I used what 3 words to direct an ambulance to an old lady on a country road who had rolled her car (she was fine) very good app. Also any content at DK is going to be good
To add to the coffee shop list - Lost Sheep with a stall next to Fenwicks in Canterbury (bus station side), I'm not sure if the outlet at the Ashford Designer Outlet is operating presently. Otherwise, The Roasting Party on Pavilion Road behind Peter Jones.
And engine mounts… Congratulations on well performed check over. I’m done with my 993. 997 and 964 coming up… Kinda scared as you were, but still knowing the cars are in pretty good condition there’s always something you haven’t caught. Fingers crossed 🤞🏻
That Ferrari of yours never gets old. The 360 was a beast then & a still a beast today
Agreed! Love it more and more every day
Huge props to DK Engineering - that comment about ofc we could basically re-assemlble it as if it were new but since you drive your car that wouldn't really make much sense gave us so much insight into their mentality and how well deserved their reputation. Nice to see content made where the car has been nicely fettled, rather than the usual wrap, exhaust, flip.
Old School, straight to the point, painfully gorgeous car … seems the 0-60 in -3 second cars are getting a bit stale so to have a RUclips dedicated to preserving the cars that we 80s and 90s babies dreamed of is awesome!
Yes! Gonna be following this one with interest.
Good good
Still can't believe Sam doesn't have more subs, too high quality for the RUclips clickbait culture
Agree. Amazed STG isn't in the millions already!
its because he doesnt have a multi million car collection and uses cars like an old 360 and a fiat abarth :D

The start of what's going to be an amazing series!
That CLK GTR Roadster 'service' is something else. incredible car and an incredible amount of work
episode 1? so there's more? you're the best sam!
Haha, plenty more
Watched the final episode, first. There is a difference, but no doubting the beauty of the 360 beforehand.
Just finished the latest episode of Behind the glass and now I can watch this vid. What a perfect day!
Legend
When you mentioned coffee I had to pause and make my own ☕️
The comment on washing a car purchasing it is spot on!
I bought a manual 360 in January and watched all your videos before. So, I can say you are to partially "blame" for that :) I drove it 2700km on a summer road trip and it was an absolute blast! I really enjoyed this video and was nice to see DK going through the car.
Wow nearly four years already... I remember when you first got the 360, just shows you absolutely cannot get tired of this car and content!
STG video, Ferrari 360 and DK Engineering. Yeah, this is going to be a good one!
Love DK Engineering and your 360.
Sam just want to say you are killing the car review/blog realm of youtube lately. Big up to you! You deserve all the success.
Thanks, Sam, these very practical inspection videos remind us to attent to the details before they become Hugh problems.
Gotta be a good one if it involves the sweet 360
Thanks for tuning in!
@@seenthroughglass I had to cause a 360 is better entertaining than a evija to me if you know what i mean
They have some wicked cars there. F40 F50 Dino 512BBi etc.
Unbelievable cars knocking around DK
360 content is always welcome, but I watch all your videos, anyway! Looking forward to the refresh. Thanks, as always, for sharing.

Watching Seen Through Glass at Silverstone makes for the greatest Sunday in years! LETS GO!!!!
I’m jealous!
Very tempted by a 360 now... Thanks Sam! Really interesting to see some of the common issues too...
I'm in awe of DK.
This technician is a legend.
love what3words. We have now started using it in work for our deliveries

That CLK Roadster looks incredible. Really interesting vid.
Once again, your 360 sounds amazing!
Agreed :)
@@seenthroughglass please get the CS wheels
Such a great video, would usually skip past videos of this nature but watched the whole thing. I dunno what it is about you Sam but you’re content is very watchable !
On the move in the 360 through Britainshire, excellent and awesome specialist visit! My three words: go on Sam, thank you.
Would be great if you get a respray done to give us some fantastic insights and details. I have a 993 that needs a respray and not sure where to start and what's involved. I'm sure Ferrari/Porsche would be similar ???
Glad you're on board with W3W.
Well, he’s being paid to
Potentially a great series. Looking forward to episode 2.
I’m more of a fair-weather STG fan these days, however i can see the effort he puts in to videos and how he’s trying new things. If this turns into a series you can count me in as an avid viewer.
I have SO much time for this already!! Cannot wait.
It's ageing so well, that interior is so good, love it.

That sound. What a car.

Never been a Ferrari guy but I fell in love with the 360 courtesy of your videos.
Now this is exiting.
It is nice to see you are planning to keep the car in good shape.
Best garage in the UK, bought my Aston off these guys - very knowledgeable.

Saw a lovely red 360 today, looked so good! Wish it was a Challenge Stradale…
Nothing wrong with a Modena ;) …. But you can’t beat a CS
@@seenthroughglass Yep!
Good on ya to keep the 360 mint!absolutely love that thing..Imo the prettyest car ferrari made in the last 30 years.
Was interesting to see this done in detail very thorough job.

The scream of the 360 and your laugh, priceless!
Can’t get enough of that soundtrack
@@seenthroughglass I finished the video then jumped in my car for a similar HOON!
Zero dislikes (so far) on this surreal video. As it should be, man. Great content, as usual. You should have a Netflix series.
Looking forward to this one Sam! Great content incoming!!! Pressed the bell icon too!
Just watched your video that coffee place is 5 mins from my house.you have persuaded me to download the app. Keep the great videos coming mate. James
Your motor sounds awesome mate.
Topaz detailing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!......Bristol/London..are Stonkingly good 👍🏼😎...
Good job Sam, informative vid , good to see what goes into the maintenance of these cars.🇦🇺🦘✌🏼
Not skipped through the vid, but spotting that blue Senna GTR(?) in the back of shot in the DK workshop at 9:18... gorgeous.
Just drive it this summer and fix it during the winter
Amazing machine! Just need a Novitec suspension and wheels to be perfect! Good content!!

I love the sound of that engine.
So excited for the Ferrari 360 restoration series
The 360 is back on the chanel!
Engine mounts! Don't forget the engine mounts!! More content with the Ferrari please!
“Sticky Buttons” would be a sweet band name.
Looking forward to this series. First thing to hit is the break lines in engine mounts. The wheels might be able use shop that Shmee150 used .
It looks like there was more disappoinment with the coffee than the car which was lucky! 😀 Great video, can't wait to see what you choose to get done 👍🏻
What three words what a great suggestion! I will use it.
I really was hoping for Alex Penfold to be around the corner as you were causally walking around DK Engineering in the beginning🙌🏻🤣
Amazing!!! Also I've seen that very CLK GTR a good few years ago at Mercedes Benz World!
That CLK GTR Roadster next to the 360!!!
Really looking forward to this series!!
Sam uses his hand more than an Italian ;-)
The 360 effect, no doubt :)
Can’t wait to see the final product, DK are the goats!
That sound is epic!
slick integration of the ad!! :D
Nice bit of German engineering plywood inside in your 1 of 6 mercs 👌
