Mr Senoh, you are an inspiration to harmonica players across the globe. Thank you for starting me down the path of this wonderful instrument.
So Mr. Ryuichiro Senoh has passed away... Very sorry to hear, he was perhaps the biggest inspiration for me as a harmonica player. Also, who could forget his awesome playing on the soundtrack of Cowboy Bebop? He was truly one of the greatest bluesmen of the history!
Rest in peace. May you find your way among the stars.
An absolute legend, who should be recognized in the annals of history.

Yes, I'm sorry to say that he did. If you click on the "SHOW MORE" button under the video, you can see it at the bottom. It says in Japanese that it was his last live performance on November 25 at the HOWLIN' BAR and that he passed away (亡くなりました) on December 17, 2017...
I've met him only twice, and although he is called "The Godfather of Japanese Blues" here in Japan, he was really down to earth and very funny.... He will be missed... Luckily his music lasts forever.... Check out his "Blue and Lonesome" video from 7 years ago, awesome low down blues....... I listen to it almost every day....
Ryuichiro Senoh is one of the musicians I really would've liked to see live, but now it's too late. He was the biggest inspiration for me to keep practising harmonica, hearing him play the tune "Rockin' Chair" on the album titled Boogie Time. Such Amazingly soulful playing, haven't heard anyone play with such an intense tone, no wonder his nickname was Weeping Harp. I first came across him when listening to the soundtrack of the Cowboy Bebop series. Hearing his playing I thought "I have to know who this person is". I'm from Finland, and I don't think many have heard of him here, which is very unfortunate. I think his name deserves to be among the greats, such as Little Walther.
yeah i have a feeling there's a bunch of kids like myself who found spokey dokey to be such a powerful cut. unlike little walter he was a more modern player though so i'd put him among names like paul delay or dennis gruenling or jason ricci.
maybe when my generation of harp players grows up ryuichiro senoh will get more recognition.

亡くなる3週間前でした。
とても体調が悪かったのですがライブは楽しくできました。
