I'd dare say it's way more common to find places where they only want you to do UI work than the ones where research is important. Most of my friends are in those places and find it difficult to justify their projects when they're in job interviews.
I completely agree with what you said about points 3 and 4. I faced a similar situation at my previous company, where I worked as a mid-level UI/UX designer. The founder's unwillingness to listen to the insights I provided really highlighted their inexperience. It created a challenging environment that negatively impacted my mental well-being and my portfolio. Hopefully this video reached a lot of aspiring designer out there!

that is unfortunately very true, we still have a long way to go to explain the founders the importance of UX design
