The great thing about Kenan is how no matter how much he loves his animals, but fully understands how dangerous they can be. Willing to joke around a bit, but never willing to risk them nor the people around them. He never does anything for the views, its just about the education and sharing his passion for them. He constantly shows a healthy level of respect for these powerful creatures.

Arrowana are not only native to Asia, in fact Asian Arrowana are illigal in the US. What you often see in the US is the Silver Arrowana which is from South America. Arrowana are Osteoglossinae ( bony tongue fish) and knife fish are Gymnotidae (often called gymnotid “eels”); Apteronotidae; and Rhamphichthyidae. Families that is.

12:08 Depends what type of Knifefish you're referring too, Featherback (Old world Knifefish) such as the Clowns you're feeding to the Alligators of Afro-Asia and Arowana, along with African butterflyfish, Arapaima, African aba and Trunkfish are all different families in the order of Osteoglossiformes. However despite the superficial appearance Afro-Asian Freatherback are no way near related to true Knifefish (New World Knifefish) of the order Gymnotiformes, that includes the Giant Knifefish (Electric "eel"), true Knifefish are infact more related to Catfish of the order Siluriformes. So the very similar appearance between Afro-Asian Featherbacks (Not electric fish) and South American Knifefish (Electric fish) is another example of convergent evolvolution.

Kenan, you really should invite some more RUclipsrs to visit. People like Rod from Predatory Fins, Brian Barcyzk(sp?), and Kevin McCurley over at NERD would almost certainly geek out over your collections and enclosures, particularly Brian and Kevin who are big time reptile people. I think that Kevin in particular, being considered one of the most knowledgeable reptile keepers/breeders out there would love your place. You could probably learn a lot from each other about keeping reptiles.
Also, the next time you get some fish you should see if Slinky would eat some. You'd probably have to cut it up into more manageable pieces but I think that Slinky might like some fish.

I expect there will be quite a few species from abroad that would survive over here, I live in Yorkshire and have always been interested in fishing since I was a kid, I've always thought its a bit weird that I've never myself or heard of anyone else catching a zander in any part of Northern England even though theres plenty in rivers, lakes canals in more southern areas I dunno how none of them have ever made their way up here, well that's to my knowledge atleast. Maybe we do have them, I don't think it would be any colder around here or I don't know of any reasons why, I don't even think the cold would bother them cos they also live in Canada, well they are called walleye over there but I think are the same thing.

Kelly was right. Snakeheads were originally imported and being farmed as a food fish. That was before they realized Snakeheads could be mobile on land. Especially during wet weather they’ve been observed traveling considerable distances from one body of water to another. Now they are a wide-ranging invasive that has acclimated to many environs, like the Red Eared Slider. They are supposedly a very good eating fish.

While I don’t agree with the other commenter calling her naked and having seen what Keenan usually wears working with his animals, I don’t think flip flops in an alligator enclosure is the way to go. At least some sandals next time, in case y’all have to haul butt out of there.

There are asian arowana but most arowana you see are south american. Royal and clown knife fish and snakeheads are asian though

“I’ll watch your 6” you and me both brother you and me both. Lol I know your busy but it would be a great collab if you went fishing for invasive species with her, Paul, Zach or Deer Meat. Maybe even a collab wild pig hunting. Then feed the reptiles.

Theyre good eating, why don't you hunt carps that damages the river bottoms etc and so? Cute chick that does outdoor stuff is a plus😊

Carp are considered a “trash fish” by many/most fishermen and not particularly good-eating. They are bottom-feeding scavengers, can live happily in polluted/ poorly oxygenated water and have hundreds of tiny bones that can present a choking hazard if eaten. When people let goldfish from the pet trade loose in bodies of water they trash the environment, out-compete native species & can cross-breed with carp (same family of fish.) They quickly revert back to their wild state, even lose their color becoming a drab brown.

I've always wondered if people did this with the invasives. Free food, helps the ecology, win-win. Wonder of you can get a permit for this.
