Wild food and foraging has been a passion of mine for decades, before I moved into a house I lived on the road with Nobby my Piebald Welsh Cob horse who pulled my Spinner two wheeled cart carrying all my kit and canvas Tarps which I used to build my Bender shelter, Paul it is a fantastic way of life and practically free living, it's when one actually lives this way for years that life is truly appreciated, I always had my trusty air rifle to get meat from Squirrels, Pigeon and Rabbit, it's a way of life I could happily and easily get back to now the kids are all growed up, cheers Paul I admire your work, atb, Paul.

Very interesting presentation Paul and yes, thought provoking, particularly the question session where small scale foraging v. intensive farming / land clearance was explored. Many thanks for producing this. Best wishes, D.

    Really enjoyed this presentation.
    Thanks Paul.
What are your views on Pine Bark ( cambium ) as a food source and also birds, both inland and sea birds.
And since i live on the coast and most people in the UK are not far from the sea, I've read that natives often harvested sea birds as a viable food source too.
A quick note about fishing nets.
I'm a big advocate for Cast Nets.
    For anyone unfamiliar with these.
Cast Nets are circular nets that are weighted around the perimeter and thrown into the water, tethered to the thrower. They spread out in the air when thrown and sink down into the water creating a parachute effect which trap any fish underneath.
I've taught myself to make these both with mono filament and natural fibers and view net making as a much overlooked survival skill.
And since a cast net is thrown, it can also be used on land to catch birds and other small animals too.
Both thrown and also as a scoop for a spring snare for example.
