      Something I learned: only the A6 and A7 have one mesh. The A9 doesn't and any request to when that will be added is given the option to return their A9 or other router and to buy one with support. Sounds like the higher, older models aren't getting it. Lame

    Excellent video, with all information and real test, not like other just a "manual of how to install". In 8:23, just remember (keep in mind) that TP-Link RE220 (and most of cheaper repeater) has a Interface 10/100M Ethernet Port (RJ45), so the wired connection never pass 100 Mbps! For this, it's necessary a 1000Mbps port (Gigabit) in more modern router/repeater, as you explain afterwards. It will nice if you can do a video with a 1000Mbps port (Gigabit) repeater, to show the final speed with this port in a repeater :)

    Can you touch on Mesh Network devices that are installed, with Ethernet Backhaul? I've inherited a number of AirTies 4920 devices, and I'm interested in installing & configuring them, so that they can be used as a Mesh Network, rather than as a multi-AP configuration. The environment in-which they'll be used is extremely congested on the 2.4 GHz Band, and the building structure is not conducive to 5 GHz, for the back haul. For those reasons, I'd like to explore deploying the AirTies 4920 devices with Ethernet Backhaul.
    In that configuration, do the mesh devices synchronize with one another over the Ethernet Backhaul? If so, do they establish a port or 'channel' over the Ethernet connection, to 'talk' with one another? Also, can they retain the host router's I.P. Subnet, or do they establish their own Subnet? I'm trying to avoid any double 'NATing' problems.
    I enjoy the channel..... Educating & Entertaining. Keep-up the good work! :)

    • @Behfor
      @Behfor  3 года назад +1

      Thanks, you don't have to change the IP address, by default it "obtains an IP address automatically", however, this automatic IP address might change from time to time, so I personally prefer to give it a permanent static IP address, this IP address will not change and I can easily remember and use it to access the repeater. Just keep in mind the static IP address has to be an unused IP in your network, in my case I used 192.168.1.253 because I know no other device is using it. Thanks.

    Hi! I bought TP Link router C6 AC1200 V2.0 (US) and TP Link extender RE200 AC750 V4.0 (UK). Both have OneMesh feature also smart connect. Also both of them upgraded to latest firmware. Now the problem is the RE200 cannot find 5Ghz network from my router. The only way it can if in my router i set the 5Ghz channel to 36/40/44/48. Doing this all my device can find 5G but my Samsung S9 cannot. Anyway you can help me?

    • @Behfor
      @Behfor  4 года назад +1

      Hi, it's probably because 5GHz Wi-Fi channels 149, 153, 157,161 & 165 that are used in US are prohibited in Europe, that's why the devices are not fully compatible with each other. It's always recommended to use the devices that are following your local regulations because otherwise they might put you in trouble! Some channels that are allowed in one country are illegal in another one! That being said, some wireless devices allow you to change the regulatory domain and set it to your country, but I'm not sure about these Tp-Link devices, maybe that'll require a firmware change. Unfortunately I don't have info on that, maybe if you contact TP-link they can give you more info. Thanks.

      It’s simple, first make sure it’s up and running, make sure the wireless name appears on any other device and make sure it’s working, then hop on to your PS4/PS5 and scan for wireless networks, it should appear there. If you want to you can connect it via Ethernet cable. Then go to scan networks and a “wired connection” will appear

    how many can you connect to a none tp link router and how seamless is it when roaming with a none tp link router?

    • @Behfor
      @Behfor  3 года назад

      1- on paper you can connect as many as you want but in reality you shouldn't because wireless is complicated and just randomly adding repeaters would cause interference and it might make your network useless! So for best performance you should know why and where you are adding the repeaters. Obviously adding them as APs is much better than adding them as repeaters. If the setup is done great then the roaming should also be good too.

      Yes you can connect it wirelessly or via Ethernet. This is a cheap product so it won’t give you the best speeds but it could work! I suggest something like an av600 or a re650.
      I use an av600 and connect it via Ethernet to my PS5. It gives me roughly 80mbps. Yes it’s not 100+ but it is VERY STABLE. Ethernet usually gives you faster speeds then wireless

    • @Behfor

      That's possible but only if you use the extender as an Access Point. So you should change it's operation mode and set it up as an AP. FYI an extender/Repeater is a device that connects to the primary router via wireless only, if you use a cable then it's an Access Point.
