My dad is 84 years old and still does this. He still races his '55 Nomad that he ran throught out the 70's and early 80's in D/MP.
Your dad is an absolute legend!
1955 CHEVY NOMAD??? THATS BADASS DUDE!
Gotta love good ole American Muscle Cars
Beautiful looking vehicles with rich histories, I'm here for that! Thanks for the comment Trenton, glad you enjoyed 💪🏻
I'm from middle America I've been a gearhead since the 80's. And yes it is the most thrilling and therapeutic thing that I have done. 6 liter Chevy Camaro 750+ horsepower man what a feeling.
Driven a 6 liter Camero restomod, never with 750 horses haha, never got to drag race it 😭 thank you for the comment Nelson, glad you enjoyed
I built one 1970 chevy chevelle, drove it for a few years. Yes its expensive , but awesome once everything clicks. Win or lose if it makes it thru the weekend in one piece, still running had a awesome weekend till you dont. Thousands $$$ up in smoke. Most of them strive to get an actual sponser to go pro. I got close, then life happens . Honestly loved it, the wallet didnt.
I bet it was a damn dream machine! Thank you for watching Harold, glad you enjoyed 💪🏻
Now those are a proper daily commuter...I bought Gramps 65 Plymouth and did a make over to it & then took`m for a Sunday drive of which he immensely appreciated....on Monday Grandma called and asked if she could trade her 69 Pontiac for it with a reimbursement fee for the work I`d done to Gramps new hot rod...
😂😂😂 thank you Tommy! Glad you enjoyed
Average top sportsman class at an ANDRA event
@@Dogstersanimations Thank you for the knowledge Dogster, glad you enjoyed
Jack your great youtuber I hope u have people love u ❤️
I appreciate the kind words Adam thank you
If you think this was insane,I recommend you react to monster jam videos, like stunts, crashes, saves. Monster Jam is a live American sporting event, with seven or more monster trucks. They do travel around the world sometimes and visit different countries and stuff. Monster Jam showcases the trucks' abilities to crush cars, fly through the air, and spin. Monster Jam typically involves three main events: The two wheel skills contest: to show the driver's skills at doing two wheeled stunts
Truck racing:where two trucks compete in a drag race to see who can finish quicker,it's way different from normal car drag racing though
Freestyle:each driver gets a certain amount of time to do whatever he or she wants
These trucks are massive at approximately 12 feet tall and wide. The tires are 66 inches and weigh at least 10,000 pounds. The trucks can travel up to 100 MPH and they can fly up to 125 to 130 feet out at up to 35 feet in the air. This is an amazing show that’s an experience your kids will talk about for a long time.
Spike! Welcome and thank you for the comment!! Weirdly me and my brother used to watch monster jam whenever it was shown on British TV..... definitely something I'll be happy to look into again, glad you enjoyed 💪🏻
@@ExploringTheSmoke I just found your channel yesterday in my recommended so I checked it out,you seem interesting
@@sp1ketheraptor582 I appreciate it Spike
These were 9-10 second cars. Make no mistake, that is quick. But,,, There is another level of street legal cars that run in the 7-8 second range and the quickest run in the 6s and even 5s for a full quarter mile. Then they have to drive to another track and do it again the next day. No support vehicles, 5 tracks in a row. Called Drag and Drive. Search Tom Bailey, Alex Taylor, Cleetus McFarland... They have lots of content. It's very informative.
Some Europeans and Australians have run these. Several Swedes with very quick cars. A favorite of mine was an Opel Ascona and also a Volvo wagon among the quickest cars.
A Opal Ascona would never ever have been in my mind for one of the cars you were going to say! Thank you for watching, glad you enjoyed 💪🏻
There is drag events that happen multiple times a year called "drag and drive". You drive to track in the car, race then drive to the next track. A lot of times you are putting nearly 1000 miles on the car of driving over the course of the event. Higher end classes are cars that will do mid 6second and can make 3-4000+ hp on race tune.
@@arbiter1 that sounds like a damn good weekend to me! Even if only done once in life it would be incredible! Welcome back Arbiter
late to the party, but I love your reactions! I think you would like fire department drill team racing! drag racing and firefighting combined into one!
Vinny! Welcome and thank you for the kind words, that sounds pretty damn fun to me, added to the list!
If interested. The NHRA season starts this weekend in Florida. It will be on tv.
Welcome Erik, thank you for watching, glad you enjoyed 💪🏻 we're trying to sort out setting up watch along live streams of sports so hopefully we have that running sooner rather than later
Looks like you need to go to Santa pod dragstrip There in the U.K....if you haven't already.
Hoping to get there in the next month or so if possible
Lol as far as displacement goes the mustang is considered small compared to other muscle cars. Even my pickup truck has an 8 liter engine.
That is insane

@@astrochickenfeet1693 I think the 68 is a beautiful car!
Also called a chevy II. it was the 1st generation of the nova.
The red car is a 66 or 67 Nova...
i have been drag racing since i was 8 :) started it whats called a Junior dragster.
And even then I bet they were anything but junior!
@@ExploringTheSmoke oh dude they were wild. Going 75mph when your an inch above the ground makes you feel Ike your going 150
@@Vermilionbaits_tackle mannnn that close to floor it could be 15mph and it's still like WHOAAAAAAAA boy 😂
@@ExploringTheSmoke fun fact my mustang I drive now is slower in 660 feet then my junior. My mustang runs 8.6 in the eighth mile. My junior ran 8.0
@@Vermilionbaits_tackle makes you wonder what little care we had for ourselves when we are young and wild 😂

You know your classic American cars better than most Americans.
I appreciate the compliment Kovac, I grew up loving shows like the Dukes of Hazzard (the original, not that god awful mid 2000's remake 😂) so the cars always stood out to me, thank you for watching, I'm glad you enjoyed
Quit stopping the video after every pass dude new England guy don't know when to shut up and watch some racing
Are you bitching about me getting around copyright....from a near two year old video 😂😂 never seen a reaction then?
