    Owning a T1000 3DOF myself i have to say i love it ! i can only say one negative thing ....it makes a hell of a noise.... glad to see that i'm not the only one with a video that's longer then 1 hour LOL 👌😬

    • @ribihome
      @ribihome 4 года назад +1

      This is the exact reason why i made the switch to DBOX. In my opinion the Prosimu is just too heavy/bulky and the noise is terrible!! I went from T1000 3DOF to a DBOX 4250i on a SimLab P1-X. Wish i would have made that choice earlier.

    • @SB-us8ru
      @SB-us8ru 4 года назад +4

      You are right about the noise of the SCN6s. I’m assuming that is what you have? The PRS200 actuators are soooo much quieter than the T1000 SCN6 actuators, I own the Previous T1000 5DOF with all SCN6s and the biggest reasons I upgraded to the PRS200s was how much quieter and faster they are.

    • @dr_arcade
      @dr_arcade 4 года назад

      @@ribihome I am considering a T1000 5m. Is the sound and quality much worse than DBOX? Also what type of DBOX will I need to achieve all the effects in the video - ie 4250i achieve 4 DOF with traction loss etc?

    • @ribihome
      @ribihome 4 года назад +1

      @@dr_arcade I owned the T1000 3M with the Dyadic 100mm which are equal to the SCN6s (as Shannon B already mentioned above). The PRS200s are indeed more silent. The price of a 5M is not to far away from the new Gen 3 Dbox since the recent price-drop. I find the DBOX system more subtle in its movements. For simracing you don't need 100mm. The cheapest DBOX has 1,5" (3.5 cm) It is more than enough. If you plan to use flightsims a higher travel range is advised but that also counts for the Prosimu PRS200. Prosimu states that 100mm lets you feel the effects of the car and the the effects of the road. Having them tried both, i need to disagree. Altough the Prosimu is not bad at all, i prefer the quiet and more subtle DBOX over the noisy and bulky T1000, even without traction loss. Just my opinion.

    Barry. Got say, yet another fantastic review but I’m left with two questions.
    First, is this set up better than the next level traction plus custom build you previously done and even was seen in this review.
    But secondly and has been ask before, will you ever build the homegrown SFX100 and compare.
    It’s fairly obvious that there is now no one better who can fully compare all the setups available to everyone’s budget.

    Great review Barry! I own the P5MP and love it. The amount of detail I can feel with these actuators is incredible to the point I can feel the texture and details of the road surface. Try the game profile at 100% and increase the min/max range for heave in tuning center. I found this tones down the rough ride and allows me to feel the detail of the road surface. Setting game profile under 100% I feel muffles or smoothes a lot of the fine motion detail. I also own the previous T1000 5DOF with all SCN6 actuators. For those of you concerned with noise the new PRS200 actuators are so much quieter than the SCN6s. They do make a little noise but I don’t even notice over the game sound. Service from Prosimu has also been outstanding. Love your reviews Barry! Thank you!

Would hate to order the 5 only to be 6 months down the road and the 7 be released. @Prosimu do you have any plans to either change the cabling or offer a more shielded version? I like the small rack, nice touch. @Barry, they do offer a more rigid steering motor mount. It is bolted on either side. I think it looks better also. They offer it with their Pro setup so I bet you could upgrade to it easy enough. What say you @Prosimu ?

    Those poor lonely DD wheelbases under the desk at the start and one of those three (I think it's three) motion rigs surely need a new loving home. I'd even build an add-on to my garage just for one of those rigs.
    My father and his mate have a similar set-up for building kit cars, and I'm torn between which I'd prefer. I am leaning towards the dedicated Sim room mainly because this new rig looks so damn impressive.
    You must have so much fun when your mates pop in; it makes the old school LAN parties look like a pen and paper D&D evening from the 90's.

      Hi. That's true, and would be very cool. I have found that in Assetto Corsa Competitione has a graphics setting(s) that tilts the view out the windshield around corners. Project Cars 2 didn't seem to have that option, though. However, cylinder life may be another issue. For DBox and other systems like this, it's not just the 'static load' or weight of you and your rig, it's the extra Force (F=Ma) that's required to accelerate all that weight sideways, up and down, etc. I trust when DBox says their cylinders are rated at 250# that means it will handle 250# static weight each, and still handle all the acceleration forces that the cylinders will see, and have high reliability. I'm sure Prosimu gave consideration to that when rating the cylinders, but until we see how long the cylinders they're using last from users over time, it may be best to try to limit the amount of weight the cylinders are lifting. To each his own, though. Best! :)

    • @Ruylopez778
      @Ruylopez778 4 года назад

      I know what you're saying but I think some systems don't advise this because of how it affects weight distribution and centre of gravity. I suppose it would be possible to compensate with custom settings. VR would be another option of course

    Barry do you think the 100mm Actuators would work? I get the impression the 150's have more travel than you need? For the price the wheel flex and shielding issues should be addressed. I'd like to see how it would handle your P1-X cockpit mounted on it. Kind of feel like if your selling it in the U. S. it should work on our power but that's not a deal breaker like the wheel flex and shielding are. I'll wait and see what the P7MP addresses

    • @simracinggarage3026
      @simracinggarage3026  4 года назад

      100mm would be plenty for regular circuit racing. Even my D-BOX system has ample motion range at only 35mm IMO. More travel is great when it comes to Rally, Dirt Trucks and Flight sims. Better able to replicate the longer travel supensions and Flight characteristics. I will be mounting a P1-X to this platform in the near future as time permits. Prosimu has told me they already have plans for strenghtening their cockpits and making some all around improvements to their system.

    I ended up buying a 250# DBOX 4-Cyl system, similar to Barry's, about 3mo. ago specifically because the noise on these cylinders is so objectionable on vids I've seen. I also believe D-Box Cylinders will be more reliable/heavy duty than these Prosimu cylinders. However, time will tell. An option would be to use headphones for sound, but I'm 68 and my hearing already is not that good. So rather than risk more hearing loss with headphones, I use speakers, and would have to turn them up a lot more to hear above all the cylinder noise. I can't justify/afford 6" D-Box cylinders though, so it would be great to see D-Box introduce similar higher-displacement cylinder system, with sway that I've seen being developed/tested at a much closer lower price than current D-Box 6" 4-post systems. We can only hope. If Prosimu lowers cylinder noise substantially, and the cylinders prove to be more reliable than I currently suspect (D-Box is expensive for a reason), I'll be In! :)

      Compare what is comparable : Dbox 100mm/s for the speed and PRS200 : 280mm/s so it's normal that the PRS 200 make more noise..... It's comparable with a car that have a speed of 100km/h and another 280km/h..... not the same specification - not the same noise. And finally If you put 1.5 inch of travel : the PRS 200 do the same noise as Dbox for less money ;-)

      Budget for sure because the Primisu T1000 costs around 8 grand+ VS the DOF reality at around I think 4 grand? The Primisu is an entirely different category of machine. The DOF runs on motors that are similar to wiper motors with limited range VS servo motors with built in encoders and long ball screws to give you 6 inches of travel. The price of just the actuators on these things are usually around 2,500 to 2700 each with NEMA 34 servos so the price for the base model is pretty reasonable. I did not watch the whole video I was wondering if it was running at 220 volts AC? If I had the cash the Primisu would be my first choice because anything comparable would cost you over 14 grand. Obviously take that with a grain of salt because I am no expert on ether setup but the DOF Reality always felt rushed to get to market where this looks really well constructed though building it takes time.
      EDIT: I wanted to add there looks like a lot of wash in DOF where this showed sum but not nearly as much.

      Yes, but still limited by the cockpit frame under the seat. As seen it is very little room left before making contact.

    Simtools is a bit limited but i think you can use FLypt-mover (which works with simtools) www.xsimulator.net/community/threads/flypt-mover.13464/ for more fine control and extra forces on actuators. Love the software though, im using it for my DIY Gseat!

    I have a Motion System with FREX Hyperaxis actuators, which are modified that I am able to lubricate the screw drive very easy and fast without demounting and disassembling the whole actuator.
    Screw drives of such actuators like SCN or PRS200 need lubrication from time to time, I see some problem here with this System design, maintenance is too complicated.

      @kevin soucy yeah I know that. But honestly, do you really think it is not important to lubricate the moving metal screw drives? I know the people who invented the SFX-100 actuators personally and one of them says the same I do. For sure such a PRS200 actuator will run for hours and hours, even for many months without any problems, Only the long run with heavy usage after a long term will tell if they are maintenance free as stated. Time will tell. But at the end of the day all actuators are mechanically nearly the same, screw drives which are driven by a fast and strong motor, I never want my screws to drive dry, so I lubricate regularly
      Don´t get me wrong, I like what I see here, very strong and fast actuators with lots of power and I like the 150mm travel way, I have only 100mm. I like the PRS200, but I just don´t "buy" that maintenance free bla bla.

    I love watching you reviews, but like this one they are getting way out of line, too compicated and costly with the average person, and really where would one put it, I can see that your garage is nearly full

Id' rather own a Corvette than a RaceSim but I guess this is for pro gamers or Very Rich people! I have rich friends that are gamers! They would never waste their money on this stuff!
