Thanks Wayne, I think the black and whit simplifies the photograph and emphasis the contrast in texture between the bark and background, that’s why I used the broken edge across the frame.
Great video Brain, like your new tripod nice and easy to use. In the early days I too fell into the trap of the tripod being small, but I am now happy with lighter one ideal for the plane and journeys away. Keep up the good work.
Thanks John. It’s strange my Tripods seemed to get increasingly heavier over the years. Now I’m aiming to go back the other way! I just hope I get the same confidence in the new tripod as I had with my old trusty Friend.
Really informative video, thanks Brian. I absolutely loved the second image of the branch with the fungus. I opted for a Benro Mach3 tripod which performs really well, but also makes me appreciate your comments about weight. Ironically it was one of your videos that made me opt for a geared head so I had to smile when I saw you’ve migrated to a ball head. Looking forward to seeing how you get on with Winston.
Sorry about the geared head! If weight and cost were not a consideration and my arthritic finger joints did not rebel against the cold I would have a geared head! There is always a compromise. I am sure I will get used to the ball head (I hope)
I am pleased so far. Performed really well on the day. It was a good Balance between weight / height and cost. If proves to be stable and robust then I will be one happy photographer. Full review will be in 3-4 vids.
Nice choice that Brian, I've been looking at changing mine for a lighter weight and I think these are really well made, cheers Brian might treat myself for Xmas, be interested how you get on with it.
Thanks Brian, easy watching and some nice images, especially the tree bark which lent itself to B+W really well.

Great video Brian, thank you. I've been looking at the 3 legged thingy tripods for a while now, looking forward to seeing what you think of them ..
