Yes I believe this the same SWA pilot. I've flown for 19 years but this was the smoothest landing I've ever experienced. My very warm regards go to this absolute best pilot!
At around 4:10 some inboard wing panels (not the ailerons) are raised slightly. I understand they will be raised much more, as airbrakes, when the plane touches down, but why are they raised at all during flight ?
Simple answer would be they are used to "spoil" airflow over the wing, thus the name spoilers, and increase the speed of decent without increasing the air speed of the aircraft.
I will be traveling 2 st louis from Philadelphia pa on my way 2 los angeles on southwest airlines august 6th
Awesome! I had to go to St. Louis as a layover also on my way to NYC. Safe travels and enjoy your flight my friend!
Thanks
Your welcome👍
This flight touched down on runway 12R, which is the primary (and longest) runway at the airport, if anyone's curious
Very cool and interesting view.
That’s the airport I normally have a layover to go to Orlando!!!
Nice Video ! Well Done!
if this is the same swa pilot he is the absloute best, have flown for 35 yrs and never had a smoother landing.. and that pilot deserves kudos...
