Robby there is nothing wrong with a ford as long as it has Chevy motor tranny and transfer case Cut that fire wall and floor motor needs way back AND UP! That way nothing is hanging down low and it would have good front to back balance! I KNOW YOU HAVE TOLD HILLBILLY EVERY THING I SAID AND MORE!!!!! Tell your wife to put her foot down hillbilly will take it better from her We know your struggles with having a hillbilly but you got to love them God bless ALL you guys
the LS is an amazing platform, amazing aftermarket, amazing availability - but the 5.0, the 4.6, even the 7.3 if you have deep pockets - Ford has a lot to offer as well!
The BroncStar project build is great! Hillbilly's enthusiasm for it is infectious. It's different than the boring ol' LS swaps that CarTubers are so turgid for.
@Robby Layton Crew Glad to see Hillbilly went with a Ford engine for the BroncStar! My first two vehicles were Fords, first was a 1966 Ford Galaxie 500 4 door which my Dad left me when he passed away. The second Ford vehicle was a 1965 Ford F-100 Long bed which I had purchased when I was 16. Unfortunately, I let both vehicles go. Pulled the engine from the Galaxie 500 and put it in the F-100 since the truck engine was blown when I got it. I truly regret getting rid of the truck. Would like to have another 1965 or 1966 F-100, but those are very expensive now! -Rob in Tennessee
Why not cut the tubes for the front end and just lengthen it to allow you to install the radiator. It seems that would be easier than taking out the engine and cutting the firewall out and re-wielding in a new one or section of one.
I think there's a lot more work than there would appear to be in doing that, especially to do it to Robbies standards. That front looks angled all over do you can't just extend it.
@Robby Layton dude, I watch your videos before any of the rest every week. Don’t let fame ever ruin your attitude and respect for other people and you’ll keep growing. @Hillbilly I admire your determination. A truly strong man can stand his ground while being humbly respectful. Good Job Brother
I'm sure Hillbilly will sure love that Bronx Star once it's done. Yes, it's going to be a lot of work, but the pride that he's gonna have in it is astronomical!😊 Thank you for sharing! 👌
Call your local forklift junk yard for steering orbital and your steering cylinders next time way cheaper and tougher than the kit your using . Glad to see the broncstar getting some much needed loving. Keep up the good work guys.
So good to see the Bronstar getting some love, not everything needs an LS Robby. The 5.0 is a solid engine. That truck plenum is a power killer though. Needs an aftermarket intake with a different E.F.I setup. I am so hopeful to see more of this build. Are the front fenders going back on?
Hi from the UK! I love the way the three of you interact. Just like working on my offroader with my mates in my barn workshop, a lot of trial and error, but you get there in the end. Love the way Demri keeps you both grounded!
Really happy to see Hillbilly putting a Ford motor in to the BroncStar. LS Motors are fine but are getting really boring that everyone puts into their rides. Smiles 😃from 🇨🇦
It used to be Chevy 350, Chevy 350! Now it's LS, LS!!! A Ford 300 truck engine would be interesting, but that is even longer. Hillbilly, I'm glad you stuck with using a Ford in a Ford.
Keep chuggin along on the Bronc Star. Y'all know what your doing and have the tools. These are the kind of projects I get into. And I'm a carpenter, with a carport, jacks and hand tools. And eventually, I git er done.
Robby is finally finding the way to grow the channel. The secret Matt has is to grow channel players relationships with viewers. When you showcase Hillbilly, it allows people to enjoy the channel by investing in each person on the crew.
SxS recoveries get old....that's why he does what he does. Matt can't keep anyone around either. Now Fab Rats is the same way. Robby does things his own way and it works. What Robby does for HillBilly is from the heart not for the sake of views!
Finally? He's been doing it since the beginning but not "to grow his channel" he's just a genuine guy who is good to his people so it's natural. It's why I watch Robby first from the southern Utah crew and why I unsubscribed from heavy d. The thing where heavy needs to be driving every vehicle and the hero of every shot got old. He became their brand so I get why they do it but it's just not nice to watch. Robby is just very nice to watch, I think that's the real southern Utah gang vibe. It's always friendly, it's predictable, it's violently free of politics. The good guys always win in the end. Just generally nice.
@@zyeborm I agree with everything you said. I was adding that Robby has expanded on more channel participants lately. Robby can certainly give credit to the tremendous boost from his association with Matt's enormous channel. The same boost Fab Rats felt.
I always found FabRats and Robbie's channel more relatable TBH. I started with Matt's channel just based on youtube suggestions. They had good high dollar projects, but I found Fabrats more enjoyable because Paul is like a younger version of my dad. Robbie comes off as really genuine and he has shown some serious skill and artistic ability for someone so young, and I always enjoy watching him think through what he's doing. Hillbilly is like that friend that would go with you to the end of the earth. He's another genuine person and his candid nature gives the show a good feel. Matt's channel is starting to feel more produced and less real, and I wonder if that is part of what has led to the recent mass exodus there. Hopefully this channel stays genuine, real life is entertaining.
Yeeaah. The BroncStar is back! Y'all have some serious skills, and cause me to ponder upgrades I should not undertake. Also, respect for showing goofs. They make me feel better.
I have a Ford 5.0L HO, in my 1976 Jeep CJ5. Hillbilly will be pleased with the performance increase over the V6 he had in the BroncStar. From the looks of the intake, it appears to have come out of a truck. I hope he put a new rear main seal in it before he bolted it all together...
Love piecing things together but the poor BroncStar is looking like Frankenstein turned into a Zombie that was ran over by a dump truck. Love you guys!
The Bronc-Star is getting some love. I'll bet Hillbilly is happy to finally be working on his truck. Looks like you're making some progress. Good Job!!!
I wish i could afford AG1 lol. Glad to see Hillbilly giving the Broncstar a better power plant, i think i have more compression than it did with the old motor
Love the contect from Hillbilly..... You sir for me - make this channel - thank you for taking the time to explain what ur doing and going into depth 👍👍👍👍
Robbie the only people who don't make mistakes are people who don't do anything worth while. You are in great company. Edison discovered 9991 ways how not to make a light bulb. I expertly epoxied the mounting screws for a 2016 Prius in the wrong place this week. Yes I ground them out and got them right now. Keep smiles and hope they don't put us in the happy academy. 😅
Good morning 🌄 Robby and Hillbilly. Great video 😊👍. Hey if you guys have problems with the tranny crossover for being too low for the trails. You can copy one from Fatrat ( the one he made for his son's dodge truck). He went up and over the front driveshaft with the tranny crossover. That keep the ground clearance. And for the radiator problem I would add2 to 3 inches to the front roll bar cage just my thinking 🤔. Have Fun 😊👍 Enjoying watching. Thank You 🎉🎉
Good morning I admire how Hillbilly does the majority of the work on the BroncStar since it is his vehicle. I am curious to see how it runs when you guys get it done.
There are a lot of stock "ford" parts that can work on that build . I would get to know what your friend at Summit has for 5.0 mustang parts . A electric fan might be a must . "IF" you are going with fuel injection make sure its a late model block with a mass air set up or you will have trouble with it running smooth . And yes you will need the pricey fuel pump .
It's tough being a Ford man in Chevy fanboy country...lol... My first car was an 87 Ford Thunderbird with a 5.0. I put 252,000 miles on that car before I got in an accident, The engine ran strong even after the accident. If you take care of it that engine will run forever. Great video, thanks again.
When the no plan plan turns into a mitigation plan and that turns into a disaster recovery plan / budget meeting and the boss says burn it down. You know the R&D department is in trouble. 😮
When I work at a tow company we had a forklift like Frank to move cars around and it was raining one day we needed a cover over the driver's seat and we took a hold off a junk car and strapped it on top of the metal structure above the driver's seat it fit perfectly
Robby could have a great future as a host on infomercial shows. His presentation is better than most of the hosts and commercial actors I see on RUclips.
Hill Billy, good for you sticking to your guns on the 5.0. Nothing wrong with an LS but in my option it doesn’t belong in a ford. As an owner of 2 Bronco IIs I’m eagerly watching your progress.
Oh ,come on gentlemen....y'all are already on what the 3rd or fourth remod ...Don't overthink it... Heck ,just extend the front enough to fit the radiator in....I M EXCITED TO SEE HILLBILLY USE IT ALREADY!!!!😊 I still love yer channel !!!
Robby , you have your hand's full with a WILD hillbilly in the shop. Great video, Dermi is a always around for support. Hillbilly need's to think down the road a little bit before he does something's. Have a great weekend. David B. , Utah. ♥♥♥.
I have a 93 Ford bronco 4x4 302 in it , I'm building it right now 4 wheel steering 2 front axles, I do non profit recovery on are beautiful beaches up here on the north Oregon coast area
Back in the 80’s I worked at a Ford dealership in Denver and we had a Bronco II come in with a 5.0. The owner said he bought a kit. Don’t know who made the kit.
SBF 5.0 for the Win! Got one in my toy too, Hillbilly. Ditched the EFI and running a carb and MSD on the roller block. The sound of the foxbody mustangs did for me.
I’m a ford guy ,I love the 5.0. I love Hillbillie’s tenaciousness BUT know when to hold them and when to fold them. By the time you get that bronco II done you can do a real full size Bronco twice over
Why not cut the fender/grill pipes at the firewall and weld some extensions - remount it to the firewall and bump out the front nose so you can mount the radiator?
Sooooooo . . . You have to order a clock ring from my stomping grounds. That's cool. Watch you guys all the time big fan. My wife and I are happy to be a part of where the BroncStar will be born! But you didn't reply to my question about my van. Looking for direction dude!

I love the stuff!!!!
Robbie why don't you get yourself a little Chevy Love and and fix it better than the Bronx star
Good on Hill Billy for sticking to his guns and not giving in to peer pressure, everything does not need to be a an LS.
the LS is an amazing platform, amazing aftermarket, amazing availability - but the 5.0, the 4.6, even the 7.3 if you have deep pockets - Ford has a lot to offer as well!
@wiresmith2398 the godzilla is not expensive to work on, far cheaper to get 600hp from godzilla then ls
The BroncStar project build is great! Hillbilly's enthusiasm for it is infectious. It's different than the boring ol' LS swaps that CarTubers are so turgid for.
Old school 5.0 is the perfect engine for this. Good choice.
If he plans to jump with it...maybe. not sure it is the best choice for crawling but the rig will be a blast 👽🤖👽
@Robby Layton Crew
Glad to see Hillbilly went with a Ford engine for the BroncStar!

I agree with Robert....cut the front tubes and extend the frame out for room of the radiator.
I think there's a lot more work than there would appear to be in doing that, especially to do it to Robbies standards. That front looks angled all over do you can't just extend it.
Or order a radiator that's smar length but thicker

Wonder if he knows anyone at Summit Racing 👽
@detroitdiy Is that truck plenum a power killer at low, or high rpm? Depending how he uses this rig determines if it's good or bad.
5.0 was a ls before ls was cool.
looks like a 351
LS is probably double the power for the same cost...
Smiles 😃from 🇨🇦
Same here, although the 5.0 I had was incredibly slow with very little hp. It did have a lot of toque though with the granny gear 4 speed
HERETICS!!!!!!!
Ls motors are just easier. And better. Unless it’s a new 5.0 but he put that old boat anchor in there
It used to be Chevy 350, Chevy 350!
Now it's LS, LS!!!
A Ford 300 truck engine would be interesting, but that is even longer.
Hillbilly, I'm glad you stuck with using a Ford in a Ford.

So excited to see the Broncstar. It appeals to us regular folk! Thanks Robbie for giving us content we want.
I really enjoy watching you and HillBilly work together on stuff. 😅
Keep the weight of the engine forward over the front axle. Talk to Rory about having the traction on the front end when climbing rocks.
Satisfying work 💙 love your channel Robby , HillBilly and The Boss 💪🏻💙👏
When you pull that crossmember out in the future just porta-power it 1/4" or angle grind 1/16" off each side so it slides in and out buttery smooth.

Good morning Humpday Robby and (Hillbilly) Glad your able to still find time to build your offroad toy. It is Utah's favorite pass time and vacation.
But Robbie it starts, vroom, have a good week and count your blessings amen.
Yeeaah. The BroncStar is back! Y'all have some serious skills, and cause me to ponder upgrades I should not undertake.
Also, respect for showing goofs. They make me feel better.
Glad to see the Bronc⭐️ back in the shop
the engine sounded good and mean can't wait to see the rest of the build 😂😂

Love piecing things together but the poor BroncStar is looking like Frankenstein turned into a Zombie that was ran over by a dump truck. Love you guys!
Robby Delta radiators makes a sweet radiator 2 2000 cfm variable speed. Put it in the back on an angle. Good luck. Found on road dead. FORD
This is the best utube channel cuz its educational and very 😅very entertaining thks guys
It'll be good to see the bronc star back in action.
You guys make my day , thank you sincerely!
Awesome as always. Thanks for sharing and taking us along
The Bronc-Star is getting some love. I'll bet Hillbilly is happy to finally be working on his truck. Looks like you're making some progress. Good Job!!!

Thank you for another great video. You show installation and fabrications that others can learn from.
Love the contect from Hillbilly..... You sir for me - make this channel - thank you for taking the time to explain what ur doing and going into depth 👍👍👍👍
On the bright side, the Bronc Star is a content creating machine. 😃
Good job everyone!
Build a mount for the radiator in front where your light bar is and remount the light in front of the radiator.
If you have to extend the cage around the front of the engine, do it to get the radiator in.

Never heard so much negativity from this group before. The comments are enough to get a good man down, stay strong Hillbilly.
I just received my BroncStar shirt. Love the BroncStar!
Good morning I admire how Hillbilly does the majority of the work on the BroncStar since it is his vehicle.
I am curious to see how it runs when you guys get it done.
Stay positive! It is aways difficult part way through a project.
Robby really does love the bronc star 😂😂
Seems like there's some tension! I agree with Hillbilly ford should have ford engine, Ls swaps are great but they've been done to death
Wow Robbie I didn't realize how organized you were until I saw Milwaukee display case with your nuts and bolts that is really cool.
There are a lot of stock "ford" parts that can work on that build . I would get to know what your friend at Summit has for 5.0 mustang parts . A electric fan might be a must . Hey HB!!!
Dude! Your CHOMPERS are looking AMAZING!!!! 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽 @3:10 !!!
Robby, I'm so proud of your good example - safety glasses!
Thanks for another Awesome video love your content and loving watching the builds !!!
The only Ford I have ever sent good vibes to. Good luck with the Broncstar bud and glad to see some progress on it.
love the episodic style of the video. now people will waiting for the next bronc star update.
Hey Robby, is Hillbilly going to compete in the "Sand Hill" climb?? Can the Bronc Star defeat the "Trail Mater" wrecker??
It's tough being a Ford man in Chevy fanboy country...lol... My first car was an 87 Ford Thunderbird with a 5.0. I put 252,000 miles on that car before I got in an accident, The engine ran strong even after the accident. If you take care of it that engine will run forever. Great video, thanks again.

Why can't you remote mount the radiator to the rear where the spare tire is with electric fans?
HillBilly could get a 4 core radiator made to help the cooling
When I work at a tow company we had a forklift like Frank to move cars around and it was raining one day we needed a cover over the driver's seat and we took a hold off a junk car and strapped it on top of the metal structure above the driver's seat it fit perfectly
Robby could have a great future as a host on infomercial shows. His presentation is better than most of the hosts and commercial actors I see on RUclips.
Haaa!! I happen to live on that Island in British Columbia! Great channel and keep plugging away! 😊
Hill Billy, good for you sticking to your guns on the 5.0. Nothing wrong with an LS but in my option it doesn’t belong in a ford. As an owner of 2 Bronco IIs I’m eagerly watching your progress.

Put the radiator in front of the tubed front end and build an extension on the front to more the lights and protect the radiator.
"And then you have to send it to Robby for paint!" (Well, that's what all the other channels say!)
Might be better to extend the frontend out for radiator!
I’m a ford guy ,I love the 5.0. I love Hillbillie’s tenaciousness BUT know when to hold them and when to fold them.
By the time you get that bronco II done you can do a real full size Bronco twice over
When the Coyote motors come down in price, the scrap yard will be full of those GM motor as people upgrade to the Ford motors.
Good job guys 😊
Cheers to Hillbilly for his will do it attitude! Make that BroncStar live again!
Hillbilly, Bracket Tree-definition is The fruiting structures of many different fungi that cause hardwood decay in standing trees. lol
Hillbilly is a true Ford Man plain and simple. You do you
Just out of curiosity , could you not make your own clock ring with that fancy cnc?
"Everything is a hammer" has become a song sung by almost every channel I watch dealing with vehicle repairs 😂🤣🤣🤣
2:53 Frank LOVES that expensive new motor! .Just needs some :getting used to" :) .. I think it was a good decision!
Why not cut the fender/grill pipes at the firewall and weld some extensions - remount it to the firewall and bump out the front nose so you can mount the radiator?
We're beginning to think the wood car is bever going to get done. You guys keep working on everything but the wood car! 😂
I like it when people push it to the limits! Til next time, take care, and we'll see you on the next...
Can't wait to bring my 1994 2 door for explorer with a 85 ford 351w in it to UT and show all you guys and wheel with you guys if you guys have time
Awesome to see that coming together with a proper engine.
Are we going to see your red Cherokee at some point again?
Hey Robby it’s Vancouver island , and the adapter is from parksville Bc
🇨🇦
Northwest fab?
Lots of good machinists here in Canada EH!😂😂😆😂
I love the 5L in the Ford, no Chevy heart in a Ford Robby. This is going to be a beast.
Sooooooo . . . You have to order a clock ring from my stomping grounds. That's cool. Watch you guys all the time big fan. My wife and I are happy to be a part of where the BroncStar will be born! But you didn't reply to my question about my van. Looking for direction dude!
Hey, I’m watching from British Columbia, Canada on an island. Vancouver Island.
Lovin bronc star and ty hillbilly for not goin chevy on motor. Keep it real
I remember being that young and able to fight a tcase by myself. 😂😂
I have a supercharger to fit a 5.o liter with all the attachments Robbie if you want it to put on the motor
Bronc Star is a rough girl! With the V-8 you will want bigger tires, right? It’ll be a little monster when she gets growed up!!👍
mount the radiator to the front of the front, move the light bar up. add some new bars to protect the radiator
Burn it!! lol Good luck guys. Love the channel
4:23 OK who did the Pidgeon sh*t welding!🤣😂🙂
I believed the LS is a better platform but i do respect the man sticking with the blue oval
