I was watching 4K UHD of “It’s a Wonderful Life” by Frank Capra on Christmas Eve, and it was super impressive how clear and rich that movie looked on even my moderately priced 4K tv.
I like some of Mr Feigs work. Spy especially. Last Christmas is not really my jam. For a modern film becoming a future Christmas staple, my money is on The Holdovers. Its very hyped, I know. But I watched it again recently and I think I liked it even more the second time. My only real criticism would be I think Payne overdid the faux film look with the random film "damage" that pops up from time to time. Its a bit silly in my opinion.
