thanks so much for this tutorial you really do great!! i'll be wrapping my 1970 ludwig with wmp. i´ll try to apply your tips as much as i can, thanks again!
The finish comes originaly from Delmar Plastics, if you want to re wrap a standard 12, 13, 16 & 22 in ludwig kit from the 70´s ( no snare drum), you're gonna need to buy 2 wraps and measure before you cut them cus' what they send you is exacly what you need , believe me...not a inch more!!!, dont cut material in excess, cut the exact size,, be sure you measure taking into account the bass drum hoops trims, the way i did it was to cut bass drum, 13 tom and one of the bass drum hoops from the first wrap sheet, and from the second wrap, the 12 tom, the other bass drum hoop and 16 floor tom , out of this, 2 pieces of wrap are left, you are to use this two pieces to complete the bass drum hoops and put the rest underneath of the bass drum, ( the two of them), hope this helps!
Thanks for posting this series of videos on re wrapping a bass drum. I plan on re wrapping a set soon with the exact same Precision BOP. The time you took to detail every aspect of the process is very helpful. I would like to ask one question, how do you recommend removing an old Ludwig finish that is glued? Do you recommend the hair dryer method? Also, most importantly how do you recommend removing the old glue? Thanks very much!!!!
I just sent a request for a quote from Precision Drum to wrap my vintage Ludwigs in Vintage Sky Blue Pearl wrap..I have done restoration before, but only with wood finishes and have never done a wrap..Would you recommend this for a 1st timer like myself, and were you pleased with the customer service that Precision Drum gave you ?..Also, were your sheets pre-cut and did you still have to do cutting ?..I wanted to order mine pre-cut.. Really great job btw, and if i do end up getting the wrap from them, i will most likely be using your video as a "go to" reference.. cheers !
Precision sells it in lengths that will not completely wrap the bass drum. They get the finish from Delmar Plastics. Precision does not actually fabricate the wraps.
Would it be possible to cut the wrap to fit just right at the edge where the drum head attaches with out having to file it to fit ? I have seen some wraps that end where the drum head metal ring begins and it worked fine. Just wondering ?
Sorry..... but if the wrapping is so expensive to buy... Why are you using household scissors ? Surely a straight edge and a sharp "Stanley blade" or similar etc, would be a lot more accurate and match up better ?
Saludos!
The vinyl is what I used, and it worked perfectly. You must use the adhesive that you can purchase from Precision Drum or other places - you can see exactly what I use in the videos. Thanks for watching!
I would look into ordering it online (I purchased mine from Drum Workshop). I'm not familiar enough with distributors in Mexico to point you in any more specific direction than that. Thanks for watching!
When I was in the third form at high school we did ' metalwork ' , there are several different bastard files , each one more hilarious than the former ... flat bastards were funnier than hand bastards but not as amusing as half round bastards
That's too bad, I wonder who makes the wraps for the actual 'drum manufactures' as they're one piece. I wouldn't want a two-piece wrap on a bass drum > especially my 26"!
Thanks for this great tutorial video. Just finish wrapping a 60s slingerland floor tom step by step. Results are incredible! Came out perfect
Glad to hear your project was a success. Thanks for watching!
Not planning on wrapping a bass drum anytime soon , but found your work to be extremely calming and very interesting. 10/10. Hope there are more
Thanks! This is a superb series. I watched all six videos. I've done it all wrong and now I know why.
Thanks for watching!
Ironically enough, the grain patterns on that bass are beautiful!
Drums are so cool. Thanks for this. :)

12:31 - that's what she said.
I'm roasting a chicken - figured I'd have seen all tutorials by the time it's ready!

Really nice video. Well done!👍
Great and very informative video. I did find it to be as dry as a popcorn fart though.....

On my Rogers 26 inch bass drum it is a 2 piece wrap. It was made in 1972.
Precision sells it in lengths that will not completely wrap the bass drum. They get the finish from Delmar Plastics. Precision does not actually fabricate the wraps.

Potentially, might depend on if that lip that's not feathered is an issue with your particular setup. Thanks for watching!
that wrap looks thinner than the original wrap. why not just cut along the edge of framing square. you'll really get a straight cut.
Hi there can drum wrap be moulded ? Ie heated to mould onto a guitar top contour ? Thank you for your time
I don't see it molding very well to a guitar's contours. Thanks for watching!

Creo que se puede comprar sólo de Precision Company Drum en Nueva York. Se trata de alrededor de $ 400 USD con cola y todos los elementos necesarios.

Great tutorial!

Why the 'two' piece BD wraps, why not one full wrap?
Hi, where can I get the wrap? Is it special for drums? Or You printed? Thanks
I got it from Drum Workshop, special made for drums - thanks for watching!
Hola, oye una pregunta de que material esta hecho el acabado que le pusiste, vinilo, acetato?
Es un envoltorio vinyl de Precision Drum Company.
my dad gave me that exact same set and i'm wondering what the name is. any answers?
One of my sets is the "Fab Four" set, and the other is the "Classic." Thanks for watching!
Hello, I would like to know where I can buy that material in Mexico, thanks
I would look into ordering it online (I purchased mine from Drum Workshop). I'm not familiar enough with distributors in Mexico to point you in any more specific direction than that. Thanks for watching!
how much sheet i need for a 3pieces drum set, 13x9, 16x16, 22x14?
Where can i get a good vintage quiatilty wrap?
awesome!, did anybody else's eyes widen when he said "bastard file" ? haha
When I was in the third form at high school we did ' metalwork ' , there are several different bastard files , each one more hilarious than the former ... flat bastards were funnier than hand bastards but not as amusing as half round bastards
One piece isn't long enough to go completely around a 22" bass drum - it's a manufacturing issue I think.
I wish that intro scroll was slower
where i can found this wrap?
pro!
Thanks for watching. I hope I covered everything and I am sure you will be successful in this venture!
Disculpe en que aria esta y cuanto cuesta por forrar 5 tanbores
That's too bad, I wonder who makes the wraps for the actual 'drum manufactures' as they're one piece.

You need better scissors
